Making sure that all was planned and implemented perfectly I headed back home. I was late but, to my surprise a very silent Khurana Mansion welcomed me. It felt very strange specially today. I walked in, confused towards a lifeless hall looking around only to see My Meeshti running down the stairs. Landing straight in my arms she hugged me so tight. I could feel how much she had missed me. I inquired about others she told me that Dadaji was fast asleep after having his early dinner and all the others had gone for some wedding.

I felt guilty to have left her all alone that too on her first day in her new house, but before I could apologize to her like reading my mind she changed the topic.

"Maan aap fresh ho jaayiye main khana lagwati hoon".

I nodded and left to our room.

At the dinner table I came across a new facet of Geet. I was as usual having dinner silently, actually having no other option left as madam was updating me with all the happening of the day. I had always wondered how can Geet be friends with fiery Annie and bindass Meera but now I know they all have one thing in common their nonstop bak bak.

On second thoughts I couldn't help falling for this Geet, her animated hand movements, her each expressions, her eyes itself speaking volumes, her scrunching of her nose sometimes, getting irritated by her loose strand of hair which was disturbing her most important endeavour at this point of time. Her taking a breath and lifting a morsel of food to eat then suddenly putting it down in the plate remembering some important fact that I immediately need to be briefed at that very minute and there she goes again.

I was rediscovering my wife!

I couldn't help but gazing at her, finally noticing that in her over excitement to share about how her day was with her new family she had successfully ignored her dinner I grabbed the fork and pulled her to me making her eat her food. After a successful dinner bulletin and finally my patience and control giving up I just grabbed her up in my arms and made our way to our room. Thank God no one was around and Nakul and Bela Di would manage cleaning up of the table.

In the aftermath of our passion resting her head on my chest, she had slipped in a deep slumber with a smile adorning her face. I pulled her more closer to me if that I could, worried that may be tomorrow this smile will be washed away.

"Babaji main jo bhi kar raha hoon usse karne ki aur Geet ko woh sab kuch dekhne aur sehne ki himmat dena!!!"

"Maan hotel project ki NOC (No Objection Certificate) ka kya progress hein?"

Dad asked me while all of us were having breakfast on the table. Dadimaa mocked Dad telling him to have the halwa that Geet had prepared after doing the Rasoi puja.

"Aadi has made all the arrangement and today we will get a clean chit". I replied to Dad.

All seemed calm and composed unaware of the upcoming storm. My plan was full proof, the only thing worrying me was Geet's reaction to the whole thing. I looked up to see Dadaji observing me trying to contemplate the reason of my worry. I knew nothing can miss his experienced hawk eyes.

As we were done with our breakfast the women headed to Dadima's room for giving Geet her shagun for this puja etc and before I could move Dadaji ordered Dad and me to be in study right now, just by his eyes. Shergill Uncle, Yash and Arjun too arrived and Aadi was at the site of our hotel managing everything.

JUNGLE

"Aaj toh baal baal bacche Paaji warne yeh junglee log toh hume sach much maar ke kha hi jaate".

"Oye chup kar yeh sab kuch teri hi wajah se hua, na tu darr ke maare hamari guns niche zameen pe daalta naa hum iss musibat mein phaste. Woh toh accha hua last moment par guns hamaare haath lag gayi aur hum unki qaid ke bhaag paaye."

We all had a near escape form those tribals. Last night I could successfully untie the ropes of my hands and legs and managed to grab our guns and my cell, thereby making way to our safe escape. They were all drunk so by the time they realize about us we have come a long way, trying to find the highway.

"Lekin Paaji hum bahar jaayenge kaise, hamaare paas toh hamaare..."

"Chup oye! ek baar hum highway ke paas pohuch jaaye aur cell ka network mil jaaye, phir sab kuch ho jaayega. Samjha ab raasta dhondho sab".

We were frantically looking out for the way to move out of this jungle when we heard some sounds of footsteps. We hid behind some trees to be safe incase they were tribals again. But to our relief we saw forest officer escorted with some guards and some formally dressed officers. It seems they were on some official duty. Right now they were God sent angels for us. Slowly we all came out and stood facing face to face with them.

KHURANA MANSION

Seated in his chair along with Dad and Uncle sitting across the table and Arjun, Yash and me stood like students called in a principals office on being caught doing some mischief.

"Hum intezaar kar rahe hein Maan?" Dad demanded on behalf of Dadaji and as of on a cue my phone buzzed with the message I had been eagerly waiting for. I walked up to the huge plasma screen and switched it on.

All their questions would be answered and Our Mission Accomplished!!!

There was complete silence in the study for some seconds when the news reporters voice cut through the silence.

LIVE FROM THE SITE

"Here we are reporting live from one of the most ambitious and talked about eco-friendly resorts project on the Delhi - XYZ highway. To my right is forest which is home to variety of flora - fauna. This one of its kind resorts project where Khurana Constructions promise a total getaway from busy and monotonous lives of the city".

"We have also got to know through our reliable sources all the materials used in the construction will cause no damage to the environment or the forest resources. Talks of small huts or cottages are also in consideration. But today we are here as The Government officials will be giving a clean chit to their magnanamous project".

"Mr Tyagi is here who has already given the NOC for the project. Mr Tyagi can u just brief us on the matter?"

"Yeh bahot hi accha aur prestigious project hein Khurana's ka, isse forest land aur uske resources ko koi harm nahin hoga, yahan ke jo backward aur tribal areas hein unhe employment milegi. Tourism point of view bhi kaafi advantageous hein Government ke liye. Hamari team abhi forest mein gayi hein survey karne forest officers ke saath taaki hum decide kar sake ke yahan ke tourists ko jungle safari ki allowances include kare ya nahi. Khurana Constructions ki Goodwill ko dekhte hue construction start karne ki humne pehle hi permission de di hein".

"Thank u Mr Tyagi aur lagta hein aapki team yahan wapas aa chuki hein, chaliye ab hum aapko survey team ke paas le jaate hein for the latest information"

"OH MY GOD!!!! Viewers kahaani mein ek naya twist aa gaya hein! Survey team aur forest officers ke saath Khurana's ke sabse bade rival Brij Handa aur uske saathi bhi bahar aaye hein woh bhi bina kapdo ke."

"Dekhiye one of the heir of a reputed family and business house making failed attempt to hide his face, viewers dekhiye Brij Handa apne parivaar ki izzat ko chaar chand laga rahein hein!"

"Hum Commissioner of Police Mr Singhaniya ke paas chalte hein who will be addressing the Press in some minutes. Mr Handa aur unke saathiyon ko Police van mein Police Station le jaa rahe hein".

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I know there has been a total change in the event. Khurana Constructions has been successfully issued a NOC for their upcoming project with additional benefits from the government for their easy operations. Now coming to the latest disturbance caused. Mr Handa and his friends have been arrested with charges of entering the forest reserve without any official permission, carrying arms without valid license, we are also looking out for possibilities of hunting and pouching which is a serious criminal offence. They have also disrupt and damaged the forest reserve. A team has been sent to look out for their car and other proofs regarding the same. KHURANA MANSION

As I muted the TV Yash rejoiced over our success.

"Aye phasaa..."

"Care to explain Maan?" came the demanding voice of my Dad.

"Relax uncle, main batata hoon na. Actually Maan nahi chahta tha ke shaadi mein Brij koi bhi problem create kare issiliye humne usse dhoke se jungle mein bhej diya. aur ab uska welcome karne ke liye aur jail ki hawa khilane ke liye yeh sab arrangement ki thi". Yash revealed our plan to the all.

"Kyun kiya tum logo ne yeh sab, kya zaroorat hein Maan purani dabi chingari ko hawa deni ki, Why?" Dad questioned me.

Before I could answer Arjun spoke, "Uncle humne jo kuch bhi kiya soch samaj kar kiya hein, aap jaante hein woh arms uske paas kyun the, kyun ki woh Geet ko dhoondh raha hein usse jaan se maarne ke liye. Hum sirf Geet ko protect kar rahe hein. Brij aur Handa's ab iss legal formalities mein phas jaayenge aur Geet par se unka dhyaan hatt jaayega".

"Kitne din, Daarji aur Rajinder usse aaram se bahar nikal denge. Phir kya karoge tum log? aur agar unhe pata chal gaya ke yeh sab tum logon ne kiya hein toh?" Dad was worried of the consequences.

"Uncle aap bekaar mein pareshan ho rahe hein, maine sab fool proof planning kar ke kiya hein hamara naam nahi aayega kahin bhi. Trust us!" Yash assured there was seriousness in his voice. No matter how much he fools around but he is perfect in all his jobs.

"Rahi baat jail se bahar aane ki toh, aane wale kaafi months Handa's ke, Court ke rounds kaatne mein lag jaayenge. Maine Brij ki poori janam kundli taiyaar ki hein abhi toh purane cases bhi open karwaunga. I will see to it that Brij is here to stay." Arjun declared.

"Tum.."

Before Dad could continue Dadaji banged his hand on the table for gaining our attention. He looked at me like demanding my stand on the whole issue. He wasn't convinced with the discussions going on. He could sense something much deeper. I knew it was time for revelation.

"Yeh mera pehla vaar hein, dushman ki kamzor nabz (nerve) par. Brij Handa's ki sabse kamzor kadi hein aur maine uss par vaar kiya hein. Khandaan ki izzat ke naam pe bahut barbaadi ki hein Handa's ne. Ab issi Izzat ko main taar taar kar doonga. Yeh toh sirf shuruaat hein aaj maine unki kamar todi hein, ab aage main unke pairon tale ki zameen aur sar ke upar ka aasmaan bhi cheen loonga!"

I finished but before anybody could react a crash sound of tray of cup and saucers falling down echoed in the room. I turned to see a shocked Geet standing at the door with eyes fixed on the TV screen. She looked in my eyes for a moment, pain evident in her eyes and ran out of the study.

I followed her to our room. I made an attempt to talk to her. "Geet..." but she didn't let me complete.

"Kyun kiya aap ne yeh sab? Kya mil jaayega yeh sab karne se? Aap samajhte kyun nahi hume koi badla nahi lena. Aap ne hi kaha tha ke hum ek nayi shuruaat karenge sab kuch bhool kar phir kyun aap? Aap sab bhool kyun nahi jaate, chod dijiye unhe apne haal par." She requested helplessly holding me tightly.

"Chod doon unhe, theek hein par kya woh mujhe chod denge? Jab unhe pata chalega ke tum mere saath ho, mere paas ho, woh chup rahenge? Kya woh bhi yeh sochenge ke hum khush hein toh sab bhool jaayenge aur hume chaain se jeene denge. Nahi Geet pehla mauka milte hi vaar karenge woh bhi peeth par hamesha ki tarah."

"Kya saari zindagi tum iss ghar mein qaid rehna chahti ho, aur main bhi chup chap ek kone mein baaith jaaun. Theek hein main kuch nahi karunga, par woh bahot kuch karnewale hein. For starters tumhe ek baat batana main bhool gaya. Tumhari behen sorry tumhari minor behen Rajji ki shaadi karwa rahe hein woh log woh bhi DEV KHANNA se!" Her hold on me loosened I could see shock in her hazels.

"Handa parivaar ab apni izzat ke liye tumhari masoom bahen ki zindagi daav par laga raha hein. Reh paongi khushi se tum yeh jaante hue, ke Rajji ki zindagi ki har khushi usse cheen li jaayegi. Basa paaunge apna khushiyon ke aashiyana jab issi shaher ke ek ghar mein tumhari behen ki siskiyaan goonjegi? Bhej na chahti ho tum Rajji ko ussi narak mein jahan se tum itni mushkil se nikal paayi? Bolo Geet jawab do, abhi bhi tum chahti ho ke main peeche hatt jaaun?"

"Yeh ladaai sahi aur galat ki beech hein Geet. Aur Maan Singh Khurana kabhi galat ka saath nahi deta, aur galat kabhi sahi nahi ho sakta. Iss ladaai mein ya toh jeet hogi ya haar, samjhauta nahi ho sakta!"

"Faisla tumhe karna hein Geet. Mujhe tumhaare jawab ka intezaar rahenga!" I said with finality and walked out of the room. She had to take a stand and make a decision.
