Chapter 13A: In those few moments….
A few minutes before, she had just walked away angrily from his side….He was boiling in anger too but then soon mellowed down thinking about cute little Pari…..For her sake, he wanted to talk with Aisha and find the reason for her sudden anger!
He didn't think twice before following her out of the party…and he saw her busy over the phone….he turned away trying not to break into her private time!
But as he turned…..he heard Aisha saying….
"Don't worry sir….Arjun sir will be kept out of this."
That line caught his ears….he was a sharp listener after all and what she voiced could never miss him!

She looked at him, no she tried to weigh what exactly was running in his mind whereas he was doing no less….he raised his eyebrows trying to read what was she upto this time….what was that she was trying out this time? I should be kept out from what?? And who was it on the other side of the phone who was instructing her to do so??? He thought to himself and was a bit confused!
She knew that he would have heard it going by the glaring looks he was giving her….But she remained unimpacted and tried to walk away back to the party only to be stopped by him
"Aisha, tum kisse baat kar rahi thi? Aur mujhse kya chupaane chahthi ho??"
Aisha looked back at him with a chuckle "harr baat aapse kehna zaroori tho nahi na?" and she tried to get away from his scorning self but he grabbed her elbow and fixed her to the ground still
Arjun scowled back holding her "harr baat nahi parr jo baat mujhse judhi ho, woh main jaankhar rahunga….. you aren't leaving till you tell me that Aisha..samjhi ya samjhaavum?"
His fuming eyes were intense to escape from but she gathered up the guts and sneered back "ajeeb si zabardasti hai sir……main aapse kuch bathaane nahi waali….just leave and mind your own business…..aap samajthe kya hai apne aapko? Kisike bhi baaton mein aur life mein dhakal dene ki haq kisne dhi aapko???"
He squeezed her in anger which hurt her a bit and pulled her closer to himself "don't you dare chuck me out that way…..warna anjaam bohat bhura hoga…."
Aisha too was stubborn enough not to let anything out "aap jo chaahe kar lijiye but you aren't getting there Sir…so just forget it and enjoy the party"
Before Arjun could respond that, they heard Pari's voice "mamma….uncle…..aap dono kya kar rahe ho?"
Arjun was holding Aisha and they were standing very close to each other…..They turned to Pari's direction and found Pari and her teacher aunty gaping back at them trying to figure out what was going on between them…..
The true angry situation wouldn't be visible to anybody else except for the duo…..Anyone else would have taken it as an intense romantic moment between a couple much in love…..but Pari was too small to understand both the extreme emotions…so her enquiring mind raised that question innocently…..
Arjun abruptly left his hold on Aisha and quickly pushed her back…..Aisha steadied herself and smiled back at Pari answering her question….."kuch nahi beta…mamma ghirrne waali thi aur uncle ne pakadh liya…"
Aisha tried her best to reason the situation out to her…..and Arjun nodded supporting that as well….
The teacher who wasn't going to take that in so easily just looked at them alternatively and spoke up "sorry, aap dono ko disturb kiya…..actually Mr Dhruv aaye hai……aur aap keliye pooch rahe teh…I have asked him to wait at the lobby!"
Aisha's tensed face suddenly lit up……her eyes opened wide at the pleasant surprise "Dhruv?? Yahaan??"
Arjun was quick to notice all those changes in his team member which left him with more questions about who Dhruv was…..
Aisha's talk on the phone a few minutes back was sent to the back seat for the moment but he swore to himself that he would find that out definitely….by hook or by crook!
Aisha rushed to Pari and then tugging her along, she sprinted back to the party……
Arjun was left with no choice but follow them…..
By then, Dhruv was also in the lawn area and Aisha rushed to him…..
He gave Aisha a friendly hug as Aisha spoke up "hey its such a pleasant surprise…..how come you are here?? tumne bathaaya bhi nahi???"
Dhruv: bathaaya hota toh surprise ka kya mazaa??
Aisha smiled "haan woh toh hai!"
Dhruv: [scooping up pari in his arms] waise meri cutie GF ka b'day hai aur main na aatha…..aisa kabhi ho saktha hai kya?? [Kisses Pari lovingly] meri Pari toh bohat gorgeous lag rahi hai iss red frock mein, huh?? [Pari smiles and kisses his cheek lovingly]
Aisha: [laughing at his cheekiness] tum aur tumaari GF ke baatein meri samajh ke baahar hai…[after a pause remembering something].…..tum kisi business tour pe jaane waale teh na??
Dhruv: yeah but I had already postponed it by 2 days…..kal raat hi tumaare saat aane waala tha par kya karein….suddenly ek urgent kaam aagaya….so I had to back out…..warna kal raat hi surprise kartha….
Aisha smiles "accha kiya tum aa gaye…."
Dhruv leans towards her "kyun mujhe miss kar rahi thi, huh??"
Aisha rolls her eyes and hits him playfully "Dhruv….yeh flirting mujhse toh matth karo…."
Dhruv: yeh lo…madam, for your kind information, main kisi se flirting nahi kartha…
Pari struggles out of Dhruv's arms and wishes to stand on her own….So he places her down…..
"Happy B'day Pari! yeh lo tumaari gift…." [He takes out the gift box from his side bag and handed it to Pari]
Pari takes it greedily and opened it quickly….it was also a barbie doll and that brought a little disappointment in her cute face "yeh mujhe nahi chahiye uncle…..uss uncle ne already cute si doll deh dhi hai…..aap phir se wahi kyun laaye ho?"
Aisha rolls her eyes "Pari….aisa nahi kehthe….Dhruv uncle kitne pyar se laaye hai na??"
Dhruv wasn't much affected by Pari's complaints…..he enquired "kaunsa uncle??"
He looked at Pari and then at Aisha for an answer…Aisha replied "woh mere boss Arjun sir aaye hai…I told you na….he helped me in getting here on time"
Dhruv: ohh haan….par woh waapas nahi gaye kya??….kahaan hai? I need to thank him for his kind gesture!
Arjun walked in at that same instant introducing himself "ACP Arjun Rawte…"
Dhruv extends his hand out to him "Dhruv Singhaania"…
Arjun shakes his hand after a moment's thought as if judging him
Dhruv: thanks sir….aapne meri friend ki help ki….i owe you for that!
Arjun responded with a sarcastic grin…."you don't have to Dhruv…Your friend has already thanked me enough for that"
He completed that with a stare at Aisha….Aisha saw that in between her smiles but opted to deal with him diplomatically….
Arjun notices her and speaks up "Aisha, zara mere saat aana….."
Aisha exactly knew what that was about…so she just decides to decline that "sir, kya hum mere Mumbai waapas aane ke baadh baat kar sakthe hai….As you can see, I am a bit busy now" [she finishes with a sweet smile at Arjun and then turning to Dhruv]
Arjun nods without an option "ok….Mumbai then….but we need to speak Aisha"
There was a kind of determination and assertion in that….And Aisha knew that it wouldn't be an easy task to hide matters from him…..
Aisha nods and Arjun bids bye to them and excuses himself from there……he shares a cute little moment with little Pari and promises to meet her again soon before leaving!

Dhruv gets busy with Pari and both play around while Aisha's eyes are fixed on Arjun's retreating back
"main jaanthi hoom sir, aap naaraz hai…ghussa bhi hai…..but I really cant help it…..iss mission se aapko dhoor rakhna hi padega….I cant take a risk this time! Aapka ghussa aur aggression sab kuch ek pal mein bighaad saktha hai! Isiliye inn sab se dhoor kar rahi hoom…..Yahi aap keliye, mere liye…hum sab keliye teek hoga…."
Arjun on his drive back was quite confused at his own mixed feelings…..he had never wished to walk out like that from the party….He was feeling weird there…suddenly feeling alien to the entire surrounding...He was annoyed too!
He didn't know what irked him more…..Was it the fact that Aisha was hiding something related to him? Or was it Dhruv's presence at the party or in their life?
He had seen the closeness Dhruv shared with Aisha and Pari…..Aisha's behavior and attitude with Dhruv was totally different….She was all smiles and casual around him…..very different from the Aisha he knew!
Was he jealous? Why the hell would he be?? Dhruv could be anyone to Aisha….a friend, a close one indeed…or even a boy friend….Why was he even thinking about all that??….
He and Aisha couldn't stand each other for one minute and that remains the truth forever! He tried to drive in the point as he stamped the accelerator harder and zoomed away into the night….
Mumbai was still far away! And the night was young….
