Social fabric, inequality or is that just that each one of us has the devil within and those who cannot control it, let it loose?
Recent episodes have shown crimes of passion, dowry and honor killing. These stem from our social fabric to a large extent. A culture that believes in dignity, family pride has deep rooted insecurities within as a society. In Arjun – Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek, we have Arjun Suryakant Rawte (Shaleen Malhotra) who chose to continue with his work as an ACP after his wife was killed. He could have switched to his baser instincts and be a killer himself. But he tries to bring the criminals to justice. His methods may not be text book ones and he does get pulled by his buddy and chief ACP Sameer Rathore (Behzaad Khan) for them. However, he is a cop, a super cop and will always be one to uphold law and not break it.
Aayesha Kapoor (Shital Shah) has brought in the social change. She is in a male dominant domain. She has made her mark with not just her skills and expertise but she brings in sensitivity, essential in any crime investigation as after all, the perpetrators are humans. They have done heinous crimes and they would get just punishment for those. However, each human deserves a chance to change, even our punishment system has that.
Technology plays an important role in solving crime. With Shree (Siddharth Sen) as the tech expert one knows that the methods used to solve crimes can also be used to commit them. And as they say in the show, "Kahin kuch chhoot raha hai…," leads to them using technology to find clues. In today's world, technology is part of life and showcasing that change is part of what makes for television entertainment.
Obviously, brains and brawn are deadly combination. Chhotu (Ketan Karande) sometimes uses brains to deduce clues and brawn to subdue culprits. Different strokes for different folks. To borrow from Chanakya Neeti Saam, Daam, Dand and Bheid are part of tools utilized to conduct a crime investigation.
