Episode 71

Get Out!

The Gupta's are ready to get out of there! So much humiliation at first but it turned out to be quite an enjoyable holiday and now they are ready to go home. Anjali asks for forgiveness for the police incident and Buaji says it's not up to her to forgive but God. Mami is a riot but sometimes she is a bird brain. It is 8:20 PM quite late to take an auto so Mamaji with Nani's permission tells Akash to take the Gupta's home. Oh, a few more minutes with Payal. How lovely! Mami of course has a comment to make, give it a rest Mami will ya? Nani says to Buaji it was so nice to talk with you and please come back again. Mami again, next time? Hello. Hi, bye, bye! Buaji says just take care of my girl when she comes here. Namaste! They all leave.

Mamiji is just so typical woman who can't see anyone happy.Buaji is a free soul as her she loves Khushi a lot.

As the Gupta's are waiting to leave Lavanya comes calling Kushi; she says she can't leave she has more work for her and it can't wait. Buaji is upset and says she is not staying so late. Kushi tells Buaji it's all right after all this is her job. If she stays we stay. Kushi says to go, Buaji needs to take her medicine. They leave, Kushi stays.

La's brain went on holidays as she can't think !

Driving home Buaji is upset that Kushi is working still, she is worried and Akash tells her he will make sure Kushi gets home safely. Buaji is like who are you are you sure you are related to that other one? Your like a flower and the other one well he's like the ouch, thorn. Akash and Payal are playing peek-a-boo in the mirror. Young love!

Love this peeping tom Love though,Buaji is hilarious😆

Lavanya has Kushi doing something with her hair. Lavanya I thought you had important work for Kushi, instead of treating her as if she is your maid. She complains that Kushi pulled her hair and gets up telling her to fold the sari she has a message to attend to. Nani comes in, La jumps off the bed makes an excuse why Kushi is here and asks if she will pay her overtime. Nani says Kushi has to go home it is late. ASR comes in and asks what happened to Lavanya. Nani is glad he has come he can bring Kushi home. He remembers the plan Kushi made up to get him to attend the pooja and he is like yeah, sure I will take her home. She is not going to get out of this punishment easily. Watch out Kushi. She feels like something is going down and says no she can take an auto and Nani refuses to send her alone. Uh oh, Kushi you're done for! La wants to go and Nani refuses. She wants to hear what she learned today. Lavanya your plan backfired!

Love the way Nani handles her.Now poor Khushi with her DM and Rakshus who is indeed going to be one today

The Gupta's are worried for Kushi is still not home. Shyam says she should have come home with them it is very late. Shyam doesn't know what he could do; he knows he can't call over to the Raizada's. Payal goes to call but Buaji tells her no Mami may insult her again. Kushi will come home soon; she has to get out of there fast!

It was natural as this time of night and young girl alone in other ppl home.

Speaking of fast, ASR is driving maniacally and Kushi is nervous. On his mind is Kushi's stunt she pulled to get him to attend pooja. He is angry. How dare she? He reaches for DM Sacred veil (don't know what it is called) and she yells for him to leave it he can't remove it. "Why", he says. "Who are you? You come to my house and put forth conditions that I should not come in front of you. Who the hell are you? How dare you? How dare you trick me into coming to pooja. Don't think you can deny it by pretending to be innocent. He wants answers to all his questions otherwise she won't get out of the car. She tries to get out but he locks the door. Okay, what do you want to know? Why did you do it? Because you spoke rudely to the God Gopal. And? You think I would let you get away with that disrespect? So this is your job to point things out to me? Why? (Because you love me???Please!!!) She says who are you to tell me. I respect God and I won't tolerate when someone else doesn't. You need to check your ego at the door atleast before God. You're like a foolish child. I was thinking that after the pooja you would behave. To live with a girl without marriage. He wants her to tell him exactly what she means by that. Why does what he does bother her so much he wonders. Here it goes again. I am talking to you; look at me when I am talking to you dammit! YOU ARE A DEMON! You do not respect God or other people around you. You embarrass Lavanya, you live with her without marriage. He slams on the breaks. What nonsense are you talking he asks her. How can you be so disrespectful of a woman? To form a relationship which is not valued by society? How can you stay with her without marriage? Because, I can. This is my life and I don't believe in marriage. What about Lavanya have you asked her what she wants? Who are you to ask me if... a girl, a girl who will tell you there is nothing worthy in your life, only when there is a person in your life that wants to form a relationship with you, but for me not naming a relationship is the biggest insult. He grabs the wheel she must be hitting the mark. You are afraid to name the relationship because you are weak! Have you ever thought about your parents?

Get out!

This was way too much from both sides as she has no clue of his pains yet but when she will connect all of this she is the one who will sooth his pains and he will just remember her

Her eyes go wide, what did he say? Have you not heard? GET OUT! She is worried now, is he serious? It's so late'(It's dark, I am all alone). He unfastens her seatbelt. He gets out of the car, opens her door and pulls her out. He gets back in the car. Puts it in reverse, splashes mud on her as the car is backing up, she is worried how could he do that? It's because he is a demon! He realizes what he has done maybe some scruples came to him. He goes back to get her and she falls down in the puddle. He gets out and gives her his hand; she refuses to take his help. ASR says get in the car and she said not until you apologize for your behavior. He looks at her, comes forward she backs up and cowers as he is near. First of all, Arnav Singh Raizada, came to help a poor girl like you and you think I would apologize to you? I said once stay within your limits. Get in the car. As long as you don't apologize, I will not get in the car. Fine, then stay on the street. He leaves. He is so arrogant she says.

He was a bit too much as in anger his brain stop but LOVE Khushi for standing up for herself

I just loved the entire scene, Barun and Sanaya's expressions were awesome. He clenched his jaw so tight he must have had symptoms of TMJ that night. Unbelievable their talent!👏👏👏

He goes home throws his keys on the bed. How frustrated this girl makes him. He relives the events of the evening through his mind's eye he sees her, the one who calls him a demon. He told her to get out. Why won't she listen? He didn't just mean his car, but his life! Get out, Kushi, get out dammit! The drapes are blowing reminding him of her dupatta. Oh, crap I got to go get her. He runs out.

But he can't find her.

👏👏👏Well said he just can't take it anymore as she is putting him upside down

At the Gupta house there is a knock on the door, Kushi walks in, everyone is relieved and asking many questions. Payal notices her disheveled appearance and stains of mud on her and she says she fell getting out of the auto. Payal gives her two cents about how horrible Lavanya is and Kushi should no longer work there. Kushi remembers all the terrible things said to her by Mami and Lavanya and then thinks about that demon and how his car splashed the mud all over her.

She has got a lot to think about it.

"GET OUT"...he said.

Should she?

She can't either as he already asked her "He knows she will come"They already have connection to understand and convey messages to each other.He will not leave him but he will push her and the Diwali will be the Last nail for her from his side

Nice title so ASRish way.My comments are everywhere.👏👏

very well written and picture story

my comments in this xong

thanks, chalhov,

good to see you.

don't know the song, but perfect words.

lips never said, but eyes said it all. you could feel a heart getting stolen.

not a single word was exchanged between the two in this entire episode. and maybe just 5 minutes in all in the same frame. but i honestly tell you, it just felt like a complete saga got written. direction, performance, pacing, music, all worked wonderfully to suspend my disbelief.

thanks for bringing this layer to the enjoyment. 😳

Lastly ROFL at you samosa scene description, though i read it a tad differently than you, at first i swear he thought she look cute...then of course with all the hicups irritation took over!

Loved the Blue, purple is brilliant and peach - my tummy hurts from laughing, even i remember thos big scary raakhis!! That underlined in baby blue, its very interesting, never heard of that in gujaraat anyway. thats a beautiful gesture though. get to learn so much in our school of iPK!

❤️ dwelving into your insights!!

hi, ami,

i saw your comments earlier, rofled and thought i'd answered. thanks, sir. so, you had your share of sponge rakhis too, hoped they'd bring an injunction against them and ban them permanently at some point... but obviously when it comes to festivals and lau shau, garish is good. actually, it is kinda. how to flip one's dil dimaag and throw oneself into the moment, over subtle greys and pastel lilacs? gimme some chutney pink, trenchant orange, gruesome green and that bright krishna yellow (btw, nice thoughts on his yellow garb in your 67/68), and while you're at it, some crimson red too.

you know these creatives and actors make it easy for one to see deeper meanings and layers... hope they all get to a fab place in their careers. wiwy is planning to get ipk introduced as a subject in calcutta univ and has invited us to pause there on that bharat darshan led by you... bd led by bd. 🤣

"Wow Supriya it is so great. Very touching. I love all the movies and shows in the videos.
Harry, Hermione and Ron were the best of friends and it was wonderful to watch them grow up on screen! They were so supportive of each other. 🤗⭐️
In Twilight, Bella, Edward and Jacob shared a love that connected them all, differences aside they became family.
I love the Vampire Diaries and the friendship that Damon and Elena have, goes far beyond a sire bond. It was always there before she was a vampire. She always trusted him. Stefan just loves her and always will.
Friends was one of my favorite shows. Six friends living in the city supporting each other through thick and thin. It was hilarious and touching at the same time. Great show.
Thank you so much for sharing with us your amazing talent. It is an honor and a privilege to be your IPK sister!!!

Ami
@Supriya, how was this your first ever VM? i could never tell. its is sooo sweet, friends is my all time fav show, i grew up with it so it close to my heart, also a big HP fan, havn't seen the twilight stuff, but you did ha great job depicting the lovely friendship bond! if you had known Sarun back then, i'm sure there would be some great off screen and onscreen moments. btw love the song you chose.

Katelyn

Awesome job on your first vm, Supriya! 👍🏼 It's awww so touching! ❤️ You've selected a very meaningful song! In fact, it's the song on our wedding video but it's the female version Alison Krauss! Looking forward to your second vm!! Thanks for sharing!! 🤗 Dear lady, you are very talented!!

Durga

@Supriya, that's a beautiful vm. Very well made. 👍🏼 Never saw twilight or any other vampire story, but Harry Potter and Friends have been my favourites. Brought back memories with the pics of Friends, I can watch that show 'n' no. of times and still won't get bored. It's amazing that the show had 10 seasons and in each and every epi all 6 were present. Something like that should have happened to IPK as well. 😔

Indi
just saw. first, thanks for sharing with us.and hope your special day goes off really well. i was watching and thinking that if we had to be in that video one day, it would be a bunch of comp screens maybe with all our forum names in focus. but the friendship would still have a face and a heart. okaaayyy, too emo. loved the vm of course. looks really lovely and the movement is smooth, didn't feel like a first piece at all. i only know friends, favourites for long. but still the emotions were pretty clear and it said it all. lovely. 👏 👏⭐️.

ArshiHamesha

it does not look like your first one.so talented you are .I am not going to say I love all the shows because I am skeptical and very practical but I do like Harry Potter as my kids like those and I watch everything with them but there is something in that sequal which attracted me just like IPK.
Anyway loved your VM.I hope we will be lucky to see more.

Wiwy
Sorry can't see the link on friendship but can "mehsoos" it. Your special day is my special day, friend. Hugs.

Thank You sooo Much for all your praises🤗...i couldn hav asked for more...thanks.gif u guys made turning a yr older all the more spl...so Thank You ❤️
i see one thing other than IPK common among us...nd thts Harry Potter 😃 nd Friends...but the sad part is...all these series are over 😔

Wiwy...Here is the link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=lLcn0IYNTYE

every time i see this shot, i can smell the sulphur.
episode 70

suddenly came darkness. all he wanted was to be left alone with his lap top, not attend the janmashtami puja going on downstairs. never one to stop his family from doing what they pleased, he at the same time did request he be left out of the observation of rituals he had come not to believe in.

arnav singh raizada was not a character conceived lightly. in a culture where patriarchy and expressed theism is the way of most, where feudal practices and a tendency toward blind faith often goes unquestioned, here was a protagonist, a hero, who did not subscribe to any of the prevalent norms. he clearly said he did not believe in "tumhara bhagwan." interestingly he never said, as far as i know, that he did not believe in god. today too, he told the jaw dropped khushi, "
main uss moorti aur usske ishaaron pe vishwas nahin karta... aur agar iss baat ke liye tumhara baal gopal aasmaan kholke mujhpar bijli girana chahe na... toh main intezaar karoonga."

i don't believe in that idol and its signs... and for this if your bal gopal wants to open the skies and strike me with lightning... i'll be waiting.

amazing that such a man was not only accepted but practically adored by the audiences. i particularly noticed the husky challenge in his voice on the last, i'll be waiting... no fear whatsoever. i am prepared to bear the consequences of my action. in that i heard the cry of the individual to rise above fear.

his heart says he can't believe in an idol and rituals around it, he can't bring himself to observe therefore. hindu practice is a wide and vast thing, it does not require us to follow any particular kind of worship, nor does it make belief in god mandatory. you can be an atheist and a hindu, of course the majority amongst us is theistic by inclination, practicing in several different ways. the validity of different ways of practice, the inclusive urge is one of the tenets of hindu thought. each to her/his own... whatever path takes you there, take it.

my father always called hinduism a way of life. and what i understood finally was that at the core what is of importance is dharma... doing one's duty. as far as practice is concerned, that is.

in this, arnav singh raizada is never wanting. every duty that is his, he does and is willing to do. this is my personal understanding of my faith. i do not wish to offend anyone else's way, that would be an abs no no. just that as i look at and sense asr, i am touched by this differently expressed hindu, and amazed at the actor's ability to create this aspect without giving offence or turning people off.

there's more. he has refused his father, denied his name. utterly. he believes his father was wrong in cheating on his mother, not taking his responsibilty. he is unbearably hurt by his father's actions. that snapped moti dori the first time khushi and he met, scattering pearls, was somewhere the state of his and his sister's life... bikhar gaya... everything was scattered by one man's actions, lives lay rudderless, broken. then comes his uncle's betrayal. finally he did the unthinkable. he lets his father's name go... took his mother's name. not because he wants to punish his father, but because he wants to respect his mother, give her the place she deserves... traditionally a place given to the father. from him is our "identity" derived in patriarchal systems... with one decision he shuts the door on that.

as for feudal tendencies, yes he loves to yell and shout at the servants, but notice the affection they have for him, not seeming to mind his loud voice at all. clearly, mr's bark is worse than his bite. and in his home, though he says, it's MY house, look who really rules. it's nani and di all the way.

in asr, i find a modern man with new strengths, a fearlessness and a willingness to take on life, to make his life his own responsibilty... never leave it to fate. there's something terribly attractive in that for me, personally.

of course, he is flawed, and there's a lot of fine tuning to be done in his way of thinking as he goes along, but the basic structure floors me. as for faith, no one with a conscience as deep as his can be without a certain compelling faith. just that it is felt and expressed by him differently, not in the way we are accustomed to. in his love for his sister, his wiping the tears off a little girl's eyes, his quiet personal visits to the temple on the day of his parent's death anniversary, his sacred garden, his communion with plants, in so many places he prays. do we see?

and i can't help but think, in making him light that lamp in the darkness, there was a veiled message from creators.

the story was rather weakly presented. surely, in his own home, he knew that is where the arti set up is. also, the uncanny silence woulld have tipped him of. but because of the jai prakash to the power of three... i just let it pass. a tight, deep sequence bang in the centre of episode. core idea of 70 for me. three helpers are named after light... light of creation or om, om prakash; light of god, hari prakash (my translation, may not be accurate, but hari is how god/krishna is reffered to), and most pertinent this evening, the victorious one who spreads light, jai prakash. then there is rahim chacha, rahim meaning compassionate (one of the essential traits of the eternal), derived from racham which means mercy/compassion and is related to the womb. how beautiful.

tonight it was the victor who would spread light that got called three times. was he also the one who came and lit the lamp?

jai prakash. jai prakash. jai prakash.

"light, my light, the world filling light,
the eye kissing, heart-swetening light!
ah, the light dances, my darling, at the centre of my life;
the light strikes, my darling,
the chords of my love;
the sky opens, the wind runs wild,
laughter passes over the earth."

~~~ robi thakur ~~~
again a darkness that will take us to light. a new and different light. a light that stays forever and gets it voltage from the heart. how do i know? why, baal gopal ne ishara diya hai... bal gopal has given a sign... look.
