Episode-56

Arnav was trying to meliorate the clash between him and Nani about La. He didn't want any unpleasant circumstances to happen in the party.He wanted the party to be the best. He personally was arranging everything. Nani also agreed to co-operate. They were ready to forget their ego for the sake of their beloved Anjali.

Khushi and Payal was putting their best effort to fulfill their first order. There, Shyam was trying to manipulate Khushi to go back to Lucknow. He got scared of being caught. Khushi and Payal went to the hotel to finalize the order and the manager loved the sweets. They put their heart and soul to make the sweets, so obviously the sweets should be tasted good. But when Khushi came to know the fact that,it was no other than the Raizadas, who gave the order, she started to consternate. Payal somehow made her agree to pursue the order and asked her to forget about the animosity and take it as a business contract.

In RM, Shyam was trying to make Anjali, his ATM machine happy. He made a bed of roses to pamper her and gifted her a saree. He put the saree on her as a veil and started imagining Khushi instead. Gosh what a shabby fellow he was!

Everybody was wishing Anajli and Shyam for their anniversary. La also was trying hard to make them happy. She brought kheer for everybody and dropped it when Laxmi nuzzled her leg. Poor La don't know why she was so scared of an innocent goat so much!😆 Nani got infuriated again, coz she made the kheer with lots of care for Shyam and Anjali.. It was a mistake, so she should be pardoned. Shyam handled the situation nicely. Nani was too hostile for La. I think the reason was not the kheer, she was annoyed at La's ignorance.

Khushi and Payal reached RM with the sweets. As long as Khushi came near the door Arnav felt the gust of wind and sensed Khushi. He was trying to ignore, thinking it as an illusion of his mind..But he didn't know that she actually was there. When two soul mates are near they don't need to see each other, but can feel their connection through subconscious mind. And it exactly happens with Arnav and Khushi, the ultimate soul mates.

episode 54

he didn't say a word this episode. yet, his eyes, his turn of head, his walk, his stance, everything spoke and said so many things. the most important of all that he was disturbed. very very disturbed. i can try and guess only at the things that were bothering him.

there was that constant thinking about a girl he really didn't wish to think of. at least his dimag forbade it. there's no point... the girl is gone, plus girls don't make a difference to you... grow up, stop this... perhaps it admonished. yet something in him refused to listen. much later in a lovely conversation that would travel via stars, he will say how much he tried not to let her matter, but alas his own heart didn't listen to him. and now, so poignantly ever since he's seen that locked door, we're watching the waywardness of his dil.


while it might thrill me no end to see him thinking of her, he is really suffering because of it. end of 53, his sleep was gone, and he was most unlike himself as he gently stepped up into the night, held a billowing curtain and slipped into a reverie, almost forgetting to be angry. this is unusual to say the least, it is hard on the personality he has carefully groomed to face life. that childhood tragedy would have broken him otherwise.

he needs to believe in what he says, "arnav singh raizada ko kissi ladki se koi faraq nahin padta." and this has gone way beyond faraq, it's gone to places in his heart, invading his day, his night.

faraq apart, there's a deeper issue at stake here. his take on sahi aur galat. around which is structured his conscience. and that is sacrosanct to his well being. when the unthinkable happened, both brother and sister struggled to find ways to survive. anjali saw a mainstay in her brother, she transferred many emotional and psychological needs that parents fulfill to her younger sibling. he became central to her very existence. he in turn brought all his emotions to her and gave it unstintingly, being a young boy then a younger brother before her eyes only... but what he lived by was not this love.

my belief, stung by his father's betrayal, and hastening to distance himself clearly and completely from such a man, he developed a strong sense of right and wrong, a moral code, around which grew his conscience. he lived by this. any dent in it, the slightest scratch, and he couldn't bear it. this conscience was also possibly a gift from his mother, she showed him its value by the sheer ethical way of life she adopted, i felt her hand in this conscience of his often. (toward the end of the show, when practically the whole story had been destroyed, i still felt with my heart and was so very proud, when he said what he did about his father. in no uncertain terms, objectively stating the case for what it was, he told his dadi, her son was at fault... galat. that was all there is to it. no one was to blame, not his mother, nor khushi's mother, just this one galat person.)


for him to feel he was ok, he had to be sure he wasn't galat. "main sahi hoon," he said that night in the rain, when his conscience pricked him, he laid his head back against his suv just as he did here, worried, tremulous, needing desperately to know he was not wrong. he waned to be nothing like his father. he perhaps feared that he might have some streak of his parent in him, who knows. which is why, there was no place for love in his life, for he'd seen how this could destroy. which is why also perhaps his level of comfort with the limits of the relationship with lavanya.


then that got complicated.

admitted it was his stubbornness which was responsible to some extent for the situation, but he still is unprepared for the repercussions. when la sneaks into his room, firstly he's too wrapped in a girl's dupatta, unable to extricate himself from the memories of their meetings; then la wants to get all cosy behind the family's back. unthinkable, in his eyes. asr is not sneaky. he has accepted his nani's decision they won't share rooms. la is welcome to come to his room before all, in broad daylight, but not like this. a sense of galat in it. and asr cannot have that.


just as he's trying to somehow handle this, in walks nani, and the arch conversation follows, addressed to lakshmiji but aimed straight at la. that too is disturbing. he is finding his nani's handling of the situation not what he expected it to be. he has seen her cope with tragedy magnificently. he has received her love and care when he most needed it. he knows what a strong and principled woman she is. he battled with her on a matter of principle, and maybe he thought she was resolved enough to know exactly how to manage this new situation.

but no. nani is upset. and while he may not agree with her, he really doesn't want to see her like this.

then there's his duty to la. what's he to do about that? not that la's attitude is helping, why come here now?

the poor man is not in a good place at all.


that is all that registered this episode with me. it was interesting to see, how barun sobti with just a couple of expressions and a few minutes, could convey so much. the look on his face as he heard his grandma's comments, then later the little conversation between her and la. the unhappy perusal and slow walk up to the door toward nani; maybe he wants to say something, tell her off again, i thought. he merely looked at her and without a word shut the door. brilliant. my heart skipped a beat and i swear i felt his worry, his disturbance, his extreme vulnerability.


she turned away with an air of purpose. when he turned around, a tiredness on his face, a pulled down air about him, a quandary that's sucking him in. so so so not asr. i was sad.


the rest of the episode took the story forward, a rather forced yarn around the sacrilege of not bathing before puja was spun. a bit too much of "acting" everywhere. khushi is back and now shyam knows thaitt and is up to his usual galat deeds... disgusting, what's new. mami, even more campy than usual, tried to lighten the day, lavanya attempted to give her company. but all i saw was a man leaning against a door, eyes closed.

i realise, it has to all get pretty serious for di to plan khushi's return. and i do accept that family dramas often unfold around the silliest of things, and so won't crib about the bath story. of course, there's more to come. but what makes it imperative for khushi to return to asr's life is that scene in my head. he needs her... so i want her back. love, huh? 😆

I personally will disagree with you girls lovingly though because I would like to believe their first kiss on the lips (other than your wonderful story) was on consummation night. In my mind I want to believe that the act was so sacred that it occurred only during consummation. The longing, short cheek kisses to me were sweet and the appetizer to the main course. Like I said before we all agree to disagree but whatever love, kisses the more the merrier!🤗

Hide and Seek/ Peek –a-Boo

He is always on the phone, making demands, organizing, ordering and in contol until the door opens; a gust of wind blows, the keys of the piano playing softly Rabba Ve and she walks in the door. His phone slowly leaves his ear. She is praying to the Goddess for protection and she hopes the Laad Govenor is not at home. "No, she is not here. I don't want to think about it." He says and continues with a phone call. The girls continue on their entrance to the Raizada home and are heading to the kitchen. Kushi is hesitant, looking around and hoping not to see that Rakshas! She must make sure he won't find her she will have to hide out in the kitchen! She is heading that way. He is on the move, heading towards her. This next scene was amazing with the ambience of the preparation for the party, scarves on pillars and poles, music playing softly in the background Rabba Ve, and both of them on the move walking towards each other but DM has plans for them. They are not to meet just yet and by her grace they miss each other because workers walk in between them carrying the scarves. The thin fabric just barely separates them, close enough yet so far away. Hide and seek, peek a boo, just loved how the creators did this scene!

She hears him talking with a worker, " I don't like people who make mistakes…", she sees him and she runs away so he doesn't see her but he hears her payal. He looks. Hide and Seek, you know she's here but can you find her? She runs in to the kitchen and Payal tells her what to do. Uncle Rahim is there and says to place the gulaab on a large platter. Just then Naniji calls him to come to the temple. He turns to Kushi and says go to the store room and get the platters. DM has a funny way to have these star crossed lovers meet. Payal sees how uncomfortable Kushi is and says she will go, but no our heroine takes a deep breath and says she will go because LG is not here.

Anjali and Shyam are in gold looking quite nice. She tells him he looks handsome and asks who gave him the suit. He tells her of which he has many. She gets upset.

Kushi is looking for the store room as she is walking she is talking to her self, "calm down, Kushi, he isn't here. Don't worry."

Shyam realizing his mistake says to Anjali, that she is his favorite admirer. She answers himthat she is lucky to have him. He replies that he is the lucky one, Rani Shaiba.

Kushi is walking right pass their room. This is a great scene she standing in front of their door and both Anjali and Shyam holding hands in the background. The phone rings and Anjali picks it up and is told the desserts are there. Kushi is still looking and says to herself I think this is the way. She walks forward and behind her we see Anjali coming out of her room heading to the kitchen missing each other. Another hide and Seek, Peek-a-Boo moment.

Kushi is till talking with herself and is saying how can anyone find anything in this house it is so enormous. She stops, she hears ASR's voice. He is walking her way. She prays DM what to do? She runs into a room, walking in backwards to Shyam's room who is walking into the bathroom, playing hide and seek again. She doesn't see him. Brilliantly done creative team! Well played. ASR walks by, stops in front of the room sensing her perhaps…Rabba Ve. The phone rings, he gets distracted, probably Aman interrupting and walks off. She steps out of the doorway and so does Shyam from the bathroom with a towel drying his face. He looks up but she is gone but does he sense that someone was there? We just had another came of Hide and Seek/ Peek-a-Boo.

She hears him don't you see where you are going? She stops turns he is scolding a servant who got his shirt dirty. "Devi Maiya why are you testing me?" Here he comes she has to go hide! She runs into his room. "Goddess where am I?" You are home my dear Kushi, you are home. "I would not come back to Delhi to run into him!" She looks out the door and he's coming. Where to hide? Where to hide? She runs behind his chaise, no not there. She jumps into his closet. Yes this is a good place to hide he won't find her there! Haha, DM has other plans in store. He walks in takes off his vest. Phone rings again. He goes to his closet to get another shirt, opens the door distracted by the phone, not looking into the closet he just reaches in to grab a shirt. Fumbling around with his shirts she assists him with one. He closes the door, walking away he realizes something. "I'll call you back", he turns staring at the closet, he rolls his eyes probably saying to himself 'I must be crazy' and walks away. She hits her head and squeals and does it again. He hears, turns around in disbelief and walks over to the closet and opens the door. "What the?" He is staring intently into the covered eyes of one Kushi Kumari Gupta!

Peek-a-Boo! This game of Hide and Seek just became interesting!

Anjali and Nani are in the kitchen where the aroma of Lucknow sweets has filled the air! Anjali is surprise to see Payal who explains that the sisters have opened a sweet shop and won their contract. Anjali seems happy about the great news! Payal congratulates her on her anniversary. Anjali introduces Payal as Kushi's sister the girl from Lucknow and Nani tells Payal that she is always happy when she talks with Kushi and now that she met Payal she is very nice and she feels good. Nani seems very pleased with the sweets. Anjali asks Payal where is Kushi? Playing hide and seek and peek-a-boo with your brother, that's where!

He is staring at her. She uncovers her eyes and looks into those intensely deep, chocolate brown eyes. She has to get out of here and fast! Those eyes, those mesmerizing eyes. She jumps down from the closet and tries to walk away he grabs her arm….Rabba Ve. She breaks his hold on her and runs for her life. Her dupatta flying reaching out for him, he tries to grasp it it's just out of his reach. He calls, "Kushi…Kushi!"

Nani is so enamored by all the sweets. It is nice to see her smiling instead of scowling like she has the past few days. Kushi has the platters and comes back to the kitchen with that all so familiar worried look on her face. Payal sees her and goes to her and asks why she is so late. Anjali says to Kushi that she is very happy that she personally prepared these sweets for her anniversary. She tells her that when they meet she feels good. Nani chimes in again that nice people prepare sweets that are very delicious! Payal nudges Kushi who is in another world and says Nani and Anjali are talking to her. She snaps out of her private thought world and says Namaste to both of them and Happy Anniversary to Anjali. Mami then comes in and does her Mami thing. She sees the girls and wants to know why they are here. Anjali tells her they have the sweet contract for the party. Nani and Anjali leave. "Hmpfff," Mami says. In comes Akash and he sees Kushi and then is mesmerized by his lady Payal. Kushi tells him they brought the sweets for the party. Mami doesn't like what she sees and rushes her son away. No peek-a-boo games for you!

ASR is pacing in his room remembering HER words that she is leaving to Lucknow forever! He saw the locked door! What the! Why is she HERE? Lavanya walks in, "How do I look?" He doesn't answer and she tells him so. How can he think of anything else now that Kushi is back? Lavanya walks over to him and is straightening his shirt when Anjali walks in on this very intimate moment. She is taken aback I believe. ASR sees her, throws the shirt and walks away from Lavanya, asking Di why Kushi is there in the house. He doesn't know but he knows she does. Anjali answers him, "Yes, YOU ordered sweets for the party and Kushi and her sister got the contract. YOU ought to know, YOU are the one who made the arrangements." He answers that he gave the order but if he knew that they were commissioned he would have canceled it. She tells him to leave his anger or he will be punched in the nose. The sweets are great! Akash comes in and tells everyone to come down the guests are arriving. Lavanya says to ASR that she is so excited and she hopes they all like her surprise! He just walks away; he probably wants to just hide than face his reality.

Anajli goes to her room to freshen up and tells Shyam to go down everyone is here. She proceeds to tell him about Kushi and the sweet contract and when she turns he is gone. He didn't even hear her. He is going to be playing hide and seek soon.

Everyone enters the party greeting their guests followed by Arnav with Lavanya on his arm. This really bothered me, I really felt uncomfortable with her hanging there it just wasn't right! Kushi is trying topeek out from her hiding place to see what's happening. ASR welcomes everyone and introduces the happy couple. Anjali and Shyam come down the stairs. Lavanya is happy for them. They take blessings and gifts from everyone. Kushi says to Payal look how happy Anjali is. She is looking for her husband. Payal says forget it just come and help me. She wants one more minute to see. Mami sees her peeking and doesn't like it. Mami comes in and scolds her and says they should be working not just standing around and Kushi tells her sweets are served later. Mami says so you are not going to work before you serve the desserts? Go…Payal nudges her and says Okay. Kushi is quite angry with Mami right now but Payal soothes her.

Chit chat during the party, Mami talking about jewelry and Shyam is praising his bride. Lavanya's friends come to the party dressed in modern short skirts which Nani notices and is not pleased. The event manager comes to the girls making sure everything is going well and after they say yes he goes to ASR. As the manager is talking to ASR, ASR is just playing peek a stare with Kushi. She becomes very uncomfortable and leaves the room. Payal follows and Anjali wants them to play hide and seek with Shyam, no she wants them to meet her husband. On the way to meet him Nani calls Anjali and she leaves them. Mami sees them and tells them to serve the juice. Payal spills the juice and Kushi says she will go and find the wipes. Akash finds Payal and hands her her hanky which Mami is observing. Payal thanks him for the dupatta. I did not know it was from you. He says yes. Mami is in utter shock. She says to herself she came with sweet contract and now she is trying to make contacts. "Veil? I don't understand about the veil. I have to get rid of these Lucknow sisters." What game will she play now?

Kushi is at poolside looking for a towel. ASR questions her, "You said you were going to Lucknow." Kushi tries to walk around him and leave but he grabs her arm and pulls her close. She tries to free herself from his grasp. She asks him, why this insolence? He answers he can be ruder and she knows it. "I asked you a question. You said you were going to Lucknow and you weren't coming back. Then why are you here?" "Leave me, otherwise…" "Otherwise what?" Perhaps you are at home here. "This is my home" "I know this is your home. We spent all the money and manager did not tell us in time. I would have rather committed suicide then come to your home (and play hide and seek or peek-a-boo)." He answers that she has worked there before and anyway people like her will do anything for money. Lavanya calls for ASR while Kushi is in an uncomfortable position and tries to break free from him. She breaks his grasp and steps back. Lavanya asks her why she is here. She looks at ASR and leaves with her payal falling off her ankle. He sees. Lavanya asks if she belongs here. He says forget it. I say, yes she does. La says yes forget her! Surprise is on now. He looks back at Kushi's payal on the ground. At least he has another reminder of her. The dancers come on and everyone is uncomfortable except La and Mami. The dance ends with Lavanya in the finale.

Kushi is going to light the candles on the anniversary cake, she bends down to get the matches as Shyam turns to look. Hide and seek has begun. When he turns again he sees her. He remembers her saying she got a contract for a large sweet order. Uh oh it was his!

Someone is in trouble! It's your turn to play hide and seek. Go hide Shyam, we will close our eyes and count to 100. Ready GO…1….2….3….4…..5….

Samin, you r lucky u could see them and feel them. But, if that is what the makers tried to convey, I guess they were unsuccessful. But, when I thought about it, it did give me goosebumps. However, I feel that Khushi moved away just in the nick of time. So, it was a near miss.

Just because the Walls of the great ASR's castle are weakening by the existence of one pure soul known as Khushi...Today He wanted to get rid of Khushi's thoughts ,these pearls , from his mind because of antagonism against his feelings.These pearls which represents Khushi's existence for him in his life as these are part of hers which came to him that day by destiny.That destiny which does not run by him or her and is screaming through these pearls ,no matter where you scatter us we will be around as pure and flawless as the day one.

Pause here:His longing ,gazing ,touching ,feeling and adoring those pearls is the evident how much Khushi has reached into the Ironic Shell of ASR.It seemed to me he was loving and adoring her with spellblindingly.He just simply can't let it go just by throwing them.

Nani's furiousness at La's conduct was quiet debatable .La, instead of being apologetic she showed attitude to Nani. It made everybody upset at that moment. I must say only Khushi can deliver that and Sanaya was outstanding doing that... They hit a very big order [ which is from Raizadas who LOVE Lukhnow sweets especially Jijaji ] after several delusive pursuits. Fate is playing its role according to the moves of DM... They didn't get any advance, as their shop is lacking fame.

The most sweet and emotional moment was Buaji's emancipation of offering them her gold bangles to pawn for moving forward with the Big order.The scene made me so emotional just like Khushi as some people in the world have so much to put up with for their survival and some zealously enjoy. "tum methai ki jagha aanso ka order leh aati tou aab tak poora ho jata"[you should have order of tears instead of sweets]

PAUSE HERE-They didn't get the price of their sweets because of of evil planner Mami. DM is determined to make these two go through to reach their final destination RM and adamant to hit Mami with reality and fate to accept them as their Bahus.👏

RM ,Arnav was planning for his Di's anniversary party. He was again disimpassioned when aloof La came to complain. She got excited for party.Her enthusiasm is way above the heel as she wants to wear Red Saree like Khushi .[so Khushi is in her head too as that she was jealous seeing her beauty]

Arnav emulated with Khushi's thought again after hearing her name.This red beauty has wrapped him around with "Seher" [spell] but this spell is a curse for ASR as "use kissi Larki sai farak nahin parta"'.[I don't care about any girl. ]Too much for big words and ego as you can't run away from it sweetheart as DM is with you for your own good."mujhe aaj keh baad yeh naam nahin suna hai"[I don't want to hear her name]

The pearls are thrown out ,The name is thrown out but can you throw "FATE" out too'.ASR'hmmm😳😳

I must say transformation of ASR from that pearly night to Red beauty night ,and then from rainy stormy night to guest house heated night has indeed proved him that a most vulnerable Arnav is thriving , aching and yearning for Khushi and only for Khushi, a white pearl right under the clumsy shell.😊
