Jeevika woke up around 8 in the morning and saw Viren asleep next to her. The nurse came in to get her some more morphine.
nurse - "How are you feeling?"
jeevika - "A lot of pain right now"
nurse - "Well your going to feel that for a few days. I'm giving you some morphine through the IV which should help. Your fianc was here all night with you. He just fell asleep a little while ago. He was waiting for you to wake up, but you were still under the anesthesia"
Jeevika just smiled looking at Viren sleeping right next to her. He was sitting on a chair with his head on the bed. Jeevika just stared at him, trying not to wake him up. Viren's phone however started ringing, waking him up. He saw Jeevika up.
jeevika - "Pick up the phone Viren"
viren - "No, its okay. How are you feeling?"
jeevika - "I'm fine Viren, pick it up or they will be worried at home"
viren - "Okay"
Viren picked up the phone and talked to Jeevika's parents telling them that she was just getting up now. They told him that they would be coming to the hospital soon after Virat dropped Veera for her class.
viren - "Everyone's coming in a little bit. Hows the pain?"
jeevika - "Its really sore. Little better though now that I have some morphine inside me"
viren smiled - "Let me go see where the doctor is. You must be feeling hungry also, huh?"
jeevika - "Thirsty"
viren - "Let me go ask the nurse if we can get you something to drink and eat"
jeevika - "Okay. Come fast though"
viren - "Why you miss me?"
jeevika - "Yeah" she said with a sad face
Viren just gave her a kiss on her forehead and went to check if the doctor was coming soon. He entered the room again coming with the doctor.
doctor - "How you feeling now Jeevika?"
jeevika - "Still in pain"
doctor - "That will stay there for a few days or weeks. Let me check your incision"
The doctor startd checking the incision and saw that it was very inflamed and red.
doctor - "Your incisions don't look too good. I think we'll need to remove the stitches and staple it instead"
viren - "Is she going to be under anesthesia or awake?"
doctor - "Awake, we can't put her under anesthesia again. It's going to hurt a bit, but we need to do it before it gets worst"
The doctor went outside to make the preparations.
jeevika - "Viren, I'm scared. This is going to hurt a lot"
viren - "It's okay, if you don't do it, it will get worst. I'll be right back"
Viren went outside and was talking to some nurses.
jeevika - "What happened?"
viren - "Nothing, the doctor was paged so he said he'll come back in sometime and do the staples. Here you can have some juice"
Viren held the glass out and put in a straw for Jeevika to drink. He helped Jeevika sit up and sat right next to her on the bed. She put her head on his shoulder.
jeevika - "Thank You Viren"
viren - "I love you"
jeevika - "I love you more"
veera - "Hi bhabhi, how are you doing?"
jeevika - "Veera, what are you doing here? Don't you have class?"
veera - "Yeah, I'm leaving in 10 minutes. Wanted to drop by and see how you're feeling. Are you better?"
jeevika - "I'm fine, come sit here"
Veera sat on the bed next to Jeevika.
viren - "Jeevika carefull, don't move too much or you'll feel more pain"
veera - "How about you get up from the bed then bhai and make room for me" :)
Jeevika and Veera both started smiling as Viren got up from the bed.
viren - "Okay Veera madam, whatever you say. Where's everyone else?"
veera - "They're coming. Virat bhaiya dropped me at the entrance. Okay bhabhi I'll be back in a few hours. Unless you want I'll stay here with you"
jeevika - "No, go to class and TELL ME HOW IT WAS" she said winking at her "And take the apartment keys from Viren. After class go and rest at home, okay?"
veera - "Okay bhabhi, whatever you say"
viren - "Wow you listen to her so quickly and it took me forever to convince you"
veera - "Whats your point?"
viren - "My point is that you love her more than me and that you're getting late for class. Now leave"
veera - "Bye bhai, i love you" she said smirking.
As soon as Veera left, the rest of the family came, jeevika's parents, swamini, and vanshika. They sat in the room taking care of Jeevika until an hour later when the doctor came in.
doctor - "Your incisions still are inflamed. If the family doesn't mind can we get them to go out to the waiting area for a while so we can remove the stitches and put the staples on"
jeevika - "Viren please stay here with me"
viren - "Okay"
Everyone left and the nurse came in. She inserted some medicines through the iv and then came near Jeevika. Viren moved to the other side of the bed and held onto Jeevika's hand. She moved her face away so she wouldn't have to see the doctor removing the incision. She held his hand tightly as the doctors undid the stitches and put on the staples.
doctor - "Okay, its done now. It will take more time to heal with the staples, but it's better than the stitches. You'll have to come back in a few weeks to get it removed. Be very careful though and don't move too much like bending or picking up anything or your staples will pop out"
jeevika - "Okay"
nurse - "I'll go get someone to bring in breakfast for you"
viren - "You okay?"
jeevika - "No, this hurts a lot"
viren - "It will get better soon. Cheer up now"
jeevika - "Cheer up? Viren I have a huge scar and we're going to Hawaii for our wedding in a few weeks. The scar will stay of such a long time. And you're telling me to cheer up?"
viren - "Okay okay calm down. Here eat your food now. How come you're so sweet to Veera and you become a devil with me?"
jeevika - "Because I have the right to do so"
viren - "Do I have to feed you know, or will you eat yourself?"
jeevika - "Why? you can't feed me? Already tired of taking care of me?"
Viren was just thinking how funny and unreasonable Jeevika was sounding.
viren -"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked that question. Here I'll feed you, okay?"
He fed her bit by bit, until she got full. He then called the rest of the family to come on in. They sat around, making sure Jeevika was okay. Pretty soon she was falling asleep. Viren went to her bed and lowered the bed from the side button, so she could sleep properly. He turned off half the lights and then told everyone quietly that he's be back in a little while. Viren walked back to the apartment since it was not too far away. He wanted to go freshen up and come back before Jeevika would get up and throw tantrums again. As soon as he reached the campus and was going upstairs, he remembered that Veera had the keys. So he went to one of the buildings hoping to see Veera, and he did, but''''''...
