Chapter 63: Falak Tak Chal Saath Mere..

He sighed and stared at Nidhi. Nidhi stared back,"wat?" he jst smiled and nodded a No! He was soo going to miss his sweetheart! Bt he dare let tht come on his face. He was flying off tonite and would need all the courage for him to do so!

Finally the time arrived wen he needed to bid adieu to Lucknow for a while. He took blessings of Col. Verma and Dadi bua and humbly accepted wishes of all who had come to see him off. Nidhi had been smiling optimistically and spreading cheerful joy all thru the evening to encourage Ashutosh and to ease this moment of separation, bt her alone time with Ashutosh had been devoid of her usual chitter chatter and instead had displayed amazing maturity, self-control, and inner strength. Bt somehow her this form pained him more somewhere. He had been so used to hearing her random nonstop chitter chatter while he worked on his laptop or else either she wud b laughing and giggling on some silly jokes of her own or else she wud b pouting with cute huff expressions at his teases. He sighed and slipped his palm into hers for a gentle squeeze as thy walked towards the exit door. He stopped at a decent distance from wer the others had been standing to take a good look at her. Nidhi looked up at his handsome face on his tall figure. His eyes told her tht he wanted to do a lot more thn jst stare at her. And now thy regretted thr self-abstinent decision of avoiding displaying those emotions for fear of losing the control over thmslvs. He gave a heavy sigh and Nidhi smiled gently. Her eyes were devoid of any sort of wetness. Thy jst beamed back with a promise of wait and a wishful prayer for his success at the end of this trip, giving him many more reasons to love this woman of his! Her lips spread wide into a pretty smile as she read his eyes tht relayed nothing bt affection and silent adoration. Ashutosh felt a bit relieved of his sadness as his own lips slowly curled up for a tender smile in response. Nidhi's smile brightened at tht. "u didn't talk much today..i m going to miss ur chitter chatter.." he murmured. "oh! No u wont!" she answered back confidentally. He raised his brows,"u r not planning to pester me at night with ur calls.. r u?" "uh…" she shrugged guiltly,"no..not exactly.. … with calls..bt actually with chats!" "wat?" "uh..y.. didn't u say u will keep a "watch" on me.. and for u to do so, v to video chat..u know!" she raised her brows meaningfully. He cudnt help chuckle,"so u r not going to allow me any sort of freedom..r u?..And u wont let those miles of distance play a spoil sport" "No.. Sir..absolutely not..!" she answered back. "Well..wat can I say.."he shrugged with a mock resignation and thy laughed. Nidhi thn inched a bit closer and mischieviously looked back at thr group standing at a distance. It seemed to b busy in its own so she stole a chance to scrabble secretly on his palms … Will Miss U… Ashutosh bit back his chuckle and nodded in acknowledgement, bt she signaled him with her eyes to put something down in her open palm tht she had stretched in reply! Ashutosh stared back at her for a while! Seriously? She wanted him to scrabble back on her palm on a crowded airport with her relatives standing jst a few feet away at a pretty easy view distance.. eh! She made a cute scolding face and he had to relent! He looked around and thn slipped her both hands in his as if to suggest he was holding thm and quickly scrabbled back in her palm Me too! She changed the position of her hand and replied promptly. Hugs and kisses! A sweet smile formed on his lips. She was expecting a reply bt he chose a better way to convey. His eyes deliberately travelled over to her lips full. She cudnt help bt blush slightly. He smiled and strode off as the last announcement was made. He waved a final good bye and boarded the flight feeling relatively light! Romance finds its ways, all u need to do is get involved. She had SMSed as he switched off his mobile at the takeoff. He was still smiling at tht statement. Yes, romance finds its way and with Nidhi, thr romance was never going to die and she was probably going to teach him many more novel ways to romance. His smile widened as he closed his eyes and dreamt of his wife. He was going to contact her as soon as he landed as he had promised and this parting didn't feel as bad as he had thot. Infact, he was already looking forward to chatting with her every day henceforth!

And as Nidhi had promised him, thr was never a dull day! The days went by and thr wasn't a single day wen he wud not see Nidhi's face. And she was actually literally all over his laptop in form of wallpapers. She had mischievously set her pics as his wallpaper and he knew wat she must have done with his pics on her laptop! It was a cute idea tho and his day wud begin glancing at her pretty face either in his mobile or on his laptop. And as soon as he wud've finished his morning routine, Nidhi wud pop up on the chat. His day started and ended with a chat. Initially, it was Nidhi who was extremely excited and wud chat nonstop abt her day and her colleagues, her seniors, her patients, her job, abt the orphan kids, abt jeevan sandhya, and lot many other things tht basically didn't make any sense..which included wat she shopped, y she shopped, the sales and sarees and the latest fads and fashion and wat not! She also enthusiastically explained how she improved on budgeting of the household expenses and tht how impressed her baba was with her keen interest in the finances. In fact she was planning to get involved in her baba's business too as her long-term plan! And she had made herself even longer list of To-Dos thn one he had provided and every day she wud update him of her latest undertaking! Later, Ashutosh caught her chitter-chatter bug. Ashutosh started loving to talk abt his long day and his exciting work at his trail study and Nidhi became more and more sort of listener. The number of renowned ppl he met and the knowledge he gathered not only provided him with a vast platform of international recognition bt also served him as a beneficial hub for a technological and research knowledge transfer.

And of course Nidhi didn't let these days go romance-free either! Sometimes, thy wud steal kisses on thr laptops. On video it seemingly looked close to real thn on mobile wer only the sound of kiss cud travel. As juvenile as idea it seemed to Ashutosh, wat amused him most was tht it still brot redness to her cheeks. It wud lend a bright sparkle to his eyes and sprang a handsome smile on his lips, which Nidhi found very attractive and wud insist on repeating it frequently, bt Ashutosh felt embarrassingly shy to repeat and rather kept the frequency to only occasionally. Bt it was one thing tht was keeping his craving and pining heart sane! And thn thr wer a number of interesting things tht thy kept themselves busy while chatting. Sometimes thy wud play some intrsting online game. Sometimes thy wud listen to thr fav songs together. And sometimes Nidhi wud don up in all the beautiful dresses and sarees tht she mite have shopped for. Sometimes Col. Verma wud accompany her on the chat. Sometimes dadi bua wud narrate proudly how Nidhi was managing both house and her job so well and wud even seek a praise from him for tht! On few weekends, Angie wud come to stay with Nidhi and she too wud naughtily join thr chatting sessions to tease Nidhi and derive some embarrassing blushes from Ashutosh. In short, he was living a virtual family life on internet. The only problem was the duration of ther chats cudnt b long as much as he wished and he cudnt hold his Nidhi in his arms. And he was starting to have increasing hallucinations of Nidhi smiling and rolling down to him in her cute nite suit from the other end of the bed and he wud embrace her tightly for a while after a tiring day and thn thy wud snuggle into each other and doze off to a restful sleep. When he shared this with Nidhi, Nidhi cudnt held back her blushing chuckles and wen he asked her wthr she missed him the way he missed her, she jst bit her lip blushingly and tried to evade his questions. He was quite naughtily intrigued and had decided to confront her once he returned back home and ask and possibly tease her abt all those fantasies tht she had been dreaming of abt him in his absence.

All in all, these six months didn't seem a greater duration of separation owing to the Internet! Except for a brief span of abt 15 days, wen it was difficult to keep contact with Nidhi owing to her double shifts and her hectic schedule due to some emergency at KGH, such chatting sessions had become thr routine. Mostly it was late nite for Nidhi and early morning for Ashutosh and 90% of the time, it wud end with Nidhi dozing off on her study table. He wud have to buzz her to wake her up and she wud reluctantly go and slump on her bed and Ashutosh wud start his day. At the end of his day, he wud ping her and thy wud share a brief chat before she wud run for the hospital. And she had developed a rather annoying habit of asking him how she looked aftr she got ready! He was also keeping in touch with both Dr. Rangnath and Dr. Chatterjee, who was the new temporary dean in his absence and whom he had personally requested to keep an eye on Nidhi's progress on his behalf and he had enthusiastically obliged. Dr. Rangnath kept him up-to-date abt wat was happening at KGH and with Dr. Mallika. He had shared tht his relation with Angie was steadily making some progress. Thy had started a mode of conversation either thru chat or SMS or calls tht kept thm in touch with each other. Even Angie herself had confessed to him tht she was slowly warming up to Rangnath again and Rangnath himself didn't miss any opportunity to pay a visit to Solankis wenever thy visited the town, under pretext of visiting the Vermas. On Armaan's front, both the friends wud call each other up wenever thy had some free time at hand. And Ashutosh was happy to learn tht both Trupti and the baby wer doing grt after some initial hiccups of late pregnancy and tht the baby was eagerly waiting for its uncle to arrive. All in all, his abroad stay didn't end up as dull and gloomy as he had imagined and on his professional front, it was more thn eventful. He had fruitfully accomplished wat he had aimed with this visit and had actually reaped greater benefits thn he had expected and he was jst waiting for the day he cud break his surprise to Nidhi.

And the day arrived soon enuf bt with lots of unexpected surprises tht he hadnt expected, both pleasant and unpleasant ones. These last three months he had been so busy and so preoccupied with this surprise and keeping it a secret from Nidhi tht he had failed to notice the obvious change in her. She had become much more quite and serious. Thr romance hadn't died down bt the typical zing was clearly missing. Nidhi had been successful in masking her tiredness and worries and Ashutosh had failed to notice the efforts tht Nidhi was putting to make it look all normal and okay! It wasn't till Ashutosh arrived at Verma residence tht he felt intrigued at Nidhi's not-so elated response as he had expected at his arrival and wen he announced abt a surprise for her at her internship completion. She had also missed the first anniversary of thr first meet, a day before Nidhi had joined the KGH as an intern.

He had felt apprehensive and worried abt her seemingly odd behavior bt rest wer acting quite normal and also it was strange to see Armaan in Lucknow. Bt as soon as his eyes fell on Col. Verma, he cud guess the reason. Col. Verma looked all frail and ill. His otherwise good and healthy physique had been dilapidated! His eyes had sunken deep and he suddenly looked pretty old and weak. He was sitting on the sofa as he entered and started to get up to welcome him bt shook unsteadily on his feet and dadi bua had to help him up. Col. Verma smiled weakly and greeted him. He was too shocked to reply. Armaan had to shook him up. He looked at Nidhi with accusing eyes and croaked in unknown fear,"waat ..waat happened?" Col. Verma eyed Nidhi tht he wud answer. "its okay Ashutosh beta.. I m fine now.. " he said in his weak tired voice. Ashutosh felt overwhelmed. He held him and made him sit on the sofa and thn sitting beside him, he asked him tenderly,"wat happened papa..?" finely engraved worry lines appeared on his forehead and Col. Verma sighed slightly and reassured him. "Ashutosh beta.. it was..it was.. jst a mild heart attack… bt I m absolutely fine now .. I m perfectly stabilized..its jst this weakness..i jst need to gain back my strength and stamina.." "its..okay beta.." he reiterated gain. Ashutosh shook his head vehemently. "No..its absolutely not okay..papa!"he stood up shaking his head angrily and glared back at Nidhi whose head had dropped down to floor. He walked up to her and demanded,"Y Nidhi..Y?" Armaan tried to intervene bt he snubbed him off rudely and angrily demanded an explanation again from Nidhi. Col. Verma intervened again, bt he politely told him tht he too wud b liable to answer certain questions bt first he wanted an answer from someone who he had trusted wholeheartedly. Nidhi looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, bt she tried to push back her tears. She had promised tht she wudnt cry and she was not going to cry. "Wat do u expect Ashuji.. tht I wud've told u abt baba's illness and still u wud've stayed back thr.. Tell me u wudnt have taken the nxt flight here leaving everything without even thinking twice.." "wat do u expect of me Nidhi?" he cried in frustrated anger,"I cud've not stayed back.. bt.. this is not done Nidhi.. this is not done dammit!" Nidhi retorted,"Tell me u wudnt have done the same thing if u wer in my place..tell me!" Ashutosh jst stared back with sorrow-filled eyes. Nidhi cried pitifully as she tried to explain,"Ashuji..i know..i have hurt u.. I shud've told u…bt..bt... it wasn't as if I was all alone.. I had so many ppl to help me.. to support me.. u know Rangnath took all the responsibility of baba.. he helped me thru and thru right from the hospitalization to treatment care of baba on ur behalf as if ..as if.. he was ur younger brother.. and u know Mallika..she wudnt rest till baba was back on his feet.. Bhaiyaa flew down here right away.. and Solanki uncle promptly came to provide a moral support.. and I wudnt have been able to go thru this without Dadibua, Rohan.. or even kaka..and chotesarkar.. I had everyone to console me... bt..u.. u had none.. how cud've I ever broke this news to u.. i.. i..cudnt..and I..I..didn't want to ruin our dream..my nana's dream... " Ashutosh sighed defeatedly. He cudnt meet Nidhi's eyes. He wasnt sure if this surprise tht he wanted to give Nidhi was even right thing to do. Rite now, he jst felt tht he had betrayed Nidhi. He cud've been here instead, by her side, when she needed him most bt he was not thr..he was jst not thr.. and shamefully unaware of wat his sweetheart was going thru. He sighed without looking at her and went back to attend her baba. He gently took him to his room and laid him in his bed. "I m fine Ashutosh!" Col. Verma iterated again bt Ashutosh quietly took his pulse as if he wanted to reassure himself. Nidhi followed him in,"he is fine..he is recovering very well..its jst.. tht.." "I can read his reports..thnx!" he cut short her and picked up his file. Nidhi silently walked away citing tht she wud arrange for some refreshments. Once assured of his recovering health, Ashutosh left him alone to rest and came out and slumped heavily in the living room sofa. Thr was regret, remorse, anger all bottled up inside him..at himself.. at Nidhi. He sighed deeply as he closed his eyes. A strong aroma of tea filled his nose and he opened his eyes to a cup full of steaming hot tea. His gaze travelled up and he cud see two innocent eyes beaming at him expectantly. He jst sighed and took the cup. Armaan was observing him silently. He knew Ashutosh was angry at Nidhi for keeping him in dark and tht his anger was wrong bt he also knew tht it was matter tht thy needed to solve thm by thmslves and he shudnt b interfereing. His phone rang and Trupti had called up to talk to Ashutosh.

"Hello Ashutosh ji?" "yes bhabhiji.. how r u hows baby!" "oh.. all fine.. sorry tht I cudnt come to welcome u.." "bhabhiji..plz thrs no need of such formalities" "okay..I m sorry bt I know by now u mst've learnt the truth and knowing u, I know u mst b pretty angry on Nidhi.. and tht is why I have called up bcoz I know u wudnt listen to Armaan or anyone else..not even to Nidhi. Bt she kept her promise, didn't she? She acted brave and strong. She took good care of her baba and dadi bua and everything else in ur absence as u had wished. She deserves applaud and not anger..Ashutoshji" Ashutosh sighed deeply,"yes.. i know.. I know tht.. I know tht.. very well" "u know, I remember the thing u said tht u two wer always thr for each other, trying to support and encourage. Thts wat Nidhi did and its ur turn now. Support her. Armaan chuckled as he took back his phone,"so got a good dose from my wife.. tell u she has got perfect timing..here u step out of ur FIL's room and here comes her call!" he joked. A smile crept up on Ashutosh's face as he nodded,"yeah.. and I m sorry for my earlier behavior.." "Ashu my jaan.. u know u don't need to do tht.. I will b more thn happy to nullify it with my counter rude behavior.. " Ashutosh nodded his head,"grow up Armaan!.. seriously.. u r going to b a father soon!" "so wat.. old habits die hard.. and I wud not let this opportunity to behave rudely with u wer u cant even retort slip away from my hand…" "very funny!" "absolutely not!" Nidhi protested on her husband's behalf. She had jst stepped in from the kitchen with some snacks. "I dare u do tht bhaiyya!"she cried. "Oh..ho! here comes the warrior princess at the aid of her king!" Armaan teased,"u know..u two shud have wax statues in Madamme Tussad's museum.. u r one of its kind luv birds.. u may fight with each other bt u never let the other raise a finger at u!" Nidhi crossed her arms determindedly and was ready for a counterattack.. bt Ashutosh was quick to intervene before it escalated into a teasing war! "okay.. Armaan.. I need rest.. and I need to talk to my wife too.. so if u wud please excuse us..." "huh.. here goes the other one..." Armaan nodded his head and started to walk towards his room bt stopped abruptly, returned, and slumped back on the sofa,"knowing u two.. I think u two shud better use Nid's bedroom to save any embarrassments!" he remarked nonchalantly and got himself busy with TV. Nidhi blushed as she made her way to her room and heard Armaan's yelling as Ashutosh punched him hard before joining Nidhi in her room.

She had went and stood by the open window of her room. Ashutosh came and hugged from behind,"my luv.." he gave her a tight squeeze and uttered a sorry. "for wat?"she asked. "for not being thr for u.."he said sadly "bt u wer.."she turned and ran a loving hand over his face. "always.."she completed. He took in her affection. "u r still angry?"she asked. He pulled her close in his typical style,"how can i?" She smiled,"y not?" A teasing side smile played on his cheeks,"oh..u luv to hear praises from me.. don't u?" Nidhi smiled widened naughtily as she nodded a yes admittedly and chuckled. He bent down to kiss her. It seemed long long since thy had kissed and thy took all the time in the world to savor it. He applied a soft kiss on her forehead and took her to the chairs around the round table to discuss. "so how did it all happen.."he asked. Nidhi sighed and narrated the whole incident tht had happened in his absence.

Apparently, after Armaan had a meeting with Col. Verma's partner Mr. Thakur, his partner got panicked to be caught for all the malpractices tht he was doing and the money tht he was embezzling slowly out of the company funds! Armaan had sensed something amiss right away wen his partner had rejected his deal. Armaan had done lots of successful deals and this was a such lucrative deal tht no aspiring business unit cud every refuse and yet he had. He had voiced his suspicions to Col. Verma. Bt Col. Verma had opined tht his partner was son of his a very loyal and patriot deceased soldier friend and he cud trust him blindly and he had partnered with him coz he had more experience in this field and also had good reputation. He felt tht Armaan mite have been misunderstood bt nevertheless, he wud definitely keep an eye on things and consult him if need rose. Bt Armaan didn't receive any calls from Col. Verma thraftr and he didn't seem it wise to interfere the way his best friend's father-in-law ran his business. Tho he had tried to gauge the situation by talking to Col. Verma in general and thr was nothing tht he cud put finger to to convince Col. Verma. And now he cud say tht Mr. thakur had played his card well and he chose to strike his last at best possible moment, when col. Verma was too busy with his daughter's wedding! Under pretext of making a better foreign deal, he had fled the country, leaving behind a wife and a teen kid, who wer survived by him. Bt it wasn't until these last few months tht Col. Verma came to know abt this fraud. Bt by tht time it was already too late to recover! Col. Verma's biz was essentially a manufacturing unit which manufacture and exported retail customized clothes. With the company facing near bankruptcy, it crashed. Investors wer asking for thr money and even the workers demanded thr paycheck and threatened to file a lawsuit if immediate action wasn't taken. Col. Verma felt responsible and helpless and was devastated as thr seemed no way out. He cudnt take this enormous stress and ultimately succumbed to heart attack. And it wasn't till this attack happened tht this thing came to light. Col. Verma hadn't shared a thing with anyone, till he cudnt take it anymore and collapsed. Bt Nidhi quickly took charge of the situation. Called up Armaan promptly. Asked for Rohan's help in this matter as well. While Rangnath and Mallika took care of her baba. Solanki uncle immediately flew down from Mumbai to help and console his friend. He officially lodged an FIR and filed a lawsuit against the perpetrators! Armaan sat with his financial advisor and went thru all the papers while Nidhi and Rohan tried to break a deal with the Worker's union leader to work out a mutually beneficial solution. Being an MBA, Rohan proved his skills in negotiations and ultimately came out with a workable solution. Bt Ashutosh learnt from Armaan tht the company's fixed assets wernt enuf to fetch money to cover all the losses, pay the employees, and raise a capital to restart thr manufacturing unit. It was a huge loss bt tht he was working on it. The proposal he had was tht he needed to buy out the company or at least make it a subsidiary by holding appropriate stake of the company to work out profitable deals with his own clients. He had plans to infuse some money bt his own immediate liquidity was an issue and he was still in talks with the existing investors of this company bt tht it was going to take time convincing thm. Meanwhile, Nidhi had claimed some of her FDs and shell out some money from her bank account to raise money and thy had atleast started the production again. Ashutosh sighed deeply and asked abt the medical bills. Nidhi informed tht he had been covered under a retirement medical scheme and tht it wasn't an issue. He asked abt the progress of the FIR. Nidhi informed tht the money was tuff to trace as thy feared it had been transferred to some swiss account, unless the police gets hold of Mr. Thakur, it was tuff to recover, bt tht thy wer trying. He sighed deeply again and Armaan comforted him and stated tht everything will b all right. He had faced such things in business and tht it was part of risk associated with such business and tht he wud bring back the company on its feet. "I..have.. some money saved.. I know its not enuf.. bt.."Ashutosh started. "No..uncle doesn't want tht.." Armaan immediately answered back. Ashutosh looked at Nidhi. Nidhi shrugged,"I don't know.. he made me promise tht v wudnt use our money.. he had scolded me for using up my FDs." Ashutosh got up,"I will go and talk to him.."

Col. Verma had already been awake wen he entered the room and wen he asked as to wether he no longer considers him his son tht he is refusing to take his money, col. Verma answered tht he considered him more than his son and he knows tht thy will throw thr every penny in this bottomless pit of his company and hence jeopardize thr future security, which he didn't want thm to do. He said tht Nidhi was getting too emotional abt this company. She doesn't want it to fail as its her baba's dream. She cannot see her baba fail and thts the reason she is willing to throw everything she has to bring this company back on its feet..even her nana's house. Ashutosh was shocked to hear tht. Nidhi hadn't told him tht. "I know its hard for u.. to part with ur baba's house.." said col. Verma gently,"I m trying to convince Nidhi.. bt u know how stubborn she is!" Ashutosh sighed heavily,"Nothing is more important thn ur health papa.. ur prestige!" Ashutosh replied slowly. "Not u too please!" exclaimed col. Verma. "No papa..No..ur reputation is at stake.. and v will not let this company die.. we will give back every penny tht every investor had ever invested in this company and with interest and Angie is going to run this business. Armaan said thr is hope. He knows wat he is doing. I have faith in him. And I chose to stand by this hope and faith papa. I don't want to cling on to past!" Col. Verma looked at Ashutosh for a while and thn patted his back,"I m proud of u Ashutosh.. very proud.. and I m proud to see my daughter taking up all the responsibilities.. u have made her wat I had always dreamt of." Ashutosh twitched his lips,"No papa.. it was always thr in her.. I jst.. helped her.. guided her to bring tht out.." Nidhi was standing and listenting to this whole conversation by the door she finally came in and cried to ligten the situation,"enuf of praises.. u know I have a tendency to brag and gloat and thn I will get more heavy!" Both men cudnt help laugh. She had brot juice for Col. Verma and Ashutosh gently offered him the juice.

And it was later tht he learnt tht Nidhi had not actually shifted to Vermas. In the nite, she wud stay back bt thn in the morning she wud get back to thr house and from thr to the hospital. She wud visit the house once again in the evening and thn return back to the Vermas again. Angie had been a grt moral support to her in his absence tho she cud only visit on the weekends bt tht she had decided on something and was flying down today with Solanki aunty to make an important announcement.

Later in the night, wen everybody had gathered around in living room, including Dr. Rangnath, she made an announcement tht she had decided to get engaged to Dr. Rangnath. The look on Solanki Uncle's face was worth watching! Col. Verma was hardly able to restrain his laugh. "how can u decide on ur own!" he cried. "I haven't decided on my own.. mom has approved it!" "bt thrs ur dad too!" "oh..dad!" she cried cutely and ran to hug him to cajole him,"am I not ur fav little doll?" she asked him cutely batting her lashes innocently and it was enuf to melt Mr. Solanki. "huh..bt I jst once said tht I like Dr. Rangnath.. it didn't necessarily mean tht u shud go and get engaged to him!" he said in a huff. Solanki aunty intervened,"oh Kapil stop trying to grab undue attention.. didn't I discuss with u her growing fondness for Dr. Rangnath!" she scolded. Angie's cheeks turned red. Nidhi jumped with joy and informed him excitedly tht she had already gathered enuf donation to set up a functioning children's hospital and tht only place had been issue bt thy wer working on tht part and for now, in these last six months thy had formed a small Pediatrician's Voluntary Help Society headed by Dr. Chaterjee's pediatrician wife who r providing voluntary services to the orphan kids and tht she had been assisting her for long now. Ashutosh cudnt believe it. "seriously?" "yeah.. it was supposed to b a surprise for u.. Thr was a spontaneous dance celebration for this occasion as Angie and Nidhi brot out the stereos and put the soft numbers. All bundled into laughter as Dadi bua complemented him with her perfect steps and expressions. It set a perfect mood for Solanki uncle who had missed a dance at Nidhi's sangeet so he shook his leg a bit dragging his wife for a couple dance. Angie applauded her mom and whistled at her beauty and dance. And she wasn't one who wud feel shy!

Later chote sarkar asked everyone how he danced and wen everyone praised, he made thm promise tht thy wud not burden him with work and let him dance at Angie's sangeet. Angie laughed hard bt agreed. It was a fun night and everybody enjoyed a lot. Bt at the end everybody was dead tired and thy resigned for the day. Dr. Rangnath stayed back and took the guestroom at Nidhi's house, tho Solanki aunty had insisted tht he stayed at thr house bt Solanki uncle didn't approve.

Nidhi had just changed into her nitesuit wen Ashutosh appeared in his white kurta. As Nidhi looked back at him and smiled, he widened his arms to gather her for a hug. Nidhi ran into his arms. She snuggled in and started crying. Ashutosh chuckled hearing her sniffles. "y r u crying now.. sweets.. I m back..u don't need to cry.."he cried tenderly tipping her chin up from his chest. She looked at him complainingly,"y did u make me promise tht I shudnt cry!" He squeezed her gently,"Bcoz u shudnt cry!" "and wat if I felt lonely.." "remember our happy times.. " "huh..its not easy!" He chuckled and squeezed her again as he sighed heavily,"I know sweetheart.. I know.." "so?"he asked. "so?" "promise me tht u will nevr ever cry..wen I m gone.." She hit him violently,"shut up!" A fresh stream of tears rolled down her cheeks,"how can u talk such things.. wen.. wen…" she cud hardly complete the sentence and burst into sobs and clinged to him tightly,"I wudnt let u go..ever…" "I m sorry luv.. I didn't mean tht.. plz stop crying..u know I cannot see tht.." he wiped off her tears gently and added," I meant.. if I ever go on such trips.." "Thn u will take me.. promise me!" He sighed,"u know I cannot promise tht!" "huh..u cud've at least made a false promise jst to stop my tears.. u don't know anything!" she pouted. He chuckled,"sweetheart u know I don't make false promises.." "huh..u r so unromantic!"she complained. He chuckled. And thy remained silent for a while as Ashu cradled her soothingly in his arms. "jaaan.." she called. "hmmm.." he answered. "did u feel..did u feel bad.. tht i.. i.. thot of selling nana's house.." Ashutosh jst sighed deeply and answered in a single word,"No" He broke the hug and reiterated a No assertively. And thy gently slid beneath the duvet. He had been dreaming of this moment for long, to take Nidhi in his arms and sleep snuggling into each other. It provided him relief and peace.. and he didn't want to think abt anything else..not even abt the house. He jst wanted to think abt him and Nidhi!

Nxt morning he woke up early and didn't find Nidhi in the bed. He looked around the room rubbing his eyes and saw Nidhi standing by the window. The dawn hadn't yet broken and Nidhi was jst staring at the sky. He walked up to her and kissed her gently on her head,"hey.. good morning Luv.. y r up so early.." she turned blushing and hid into his chest mumbling,"nothing!" he felt amused at her blushes so early in the morning,"luv.." he cried trying to break her free bt she wasn't letting him and was blushing in shyness like a newly-wedded bride. "Okay…fine.." he let go off his struggle. She hid into his chest securely for a while and thn looked up at him. "Do u think I m pretty shameless..?" His eyes twinkled,"no I was going to ask u abt ur fantasies." She blushed embarrassedly,"how..how did u know?"
