part 19:
that night anjali went to room of both rk and arnav. she decided it was right time to play her cards next.
in arnav's room (which was neat and tidy)
arnav: di ??
anjali: chhote i just cam here to give you milk. (puts glass on table turns around to go but stops)
by the way chhote you decorated house so well.
arnav: thanks di but it was khushi who helped me. she likes colours like you.
anjali: so now khushi and madhu are your friends?
arnav: ya sort of.
anjali: what do you mean by sort of?? you know only true friends help you and stand by you through thick and thin.
arnav: i agree di but khushi is unpredictable .
anjali : and that's her specialty. i have never seen anyone so full of life and energy.
arnav: and that's why she is much better friend of rk.
anjali: but i think he likes someone else.
arnav: what?? new girlfriend but how come i didn't know?
anjali: cause he himself doesn't knows about it.
arnav: what are you talking about di?? please say it straight .
anjali: arrgh!! you boys!!! can you see he loves madhu!!
arnav: what??
anjali : yes they both like each other but don't know it themselves.
arnav: are you sure??
anjali: damn sure!! have you ever seen him taking care of anyone other than us? have you ever seen him trying to win a fight with her? and i am sure madhu is perfect for him. she is the one who can tame my wild brother.
arnav: i don't understand anything!!
anjali: think about it and goodnight.
anjali then went out and left a bewildered arnav in room.
in rk's room (it was totally opposite of arnav's )
anjali : hey champ!!
rk : hey sweetheart !! i thought you'd be in room with with your hubby.
anjali : shut up!!! here's your milk
rk : take it back di.
anjali: why??
rk : you know rk doesn't drinks milk.
anjali: oh really??
rk (innocently nods his head)
anjali: shut up and gulp it down at once!!! and don't forget i can force you.
rk : hey!! why is everyone forcing me. first madhu and then you!!
anjali: madhu?
rk : (noticed that she had caught him ) yes madhu.
anjali : (she was not going to leave the matter now) and why??
rk : when she came i had already made two disaster recipes. so she cleaned my face and forced me to change and come all cleaned in five minutes.
anjali: but my brother takes more than 10 minutes to decide what to wear.
rk : ya but i managed in 5 minutes somehow.
anjali : so someone is changing my brother.
rk : no it's not like that . no one can change rk. by the way is arnav asleep?
anjali : nope. and i think there are many sleepless nights to come for him.
rk : but why? is he sick?
anjali: very sick. he has got loveria.
rk : what ? arnav and love? but who? and how?
anjali : relax rishu!! it is khushi.
rk : khushi !! but she is so...so opposite of him.
anjali: exactly!! and as they say opposite attracts.
rk : then why didn't he told me?
anjali : let him know first.
rk : you mean he is unaware of his own feelings?? come on di, this can't be true.
anjali : yes it is and sometimes we don't realise importance of someone in our life until it is gone.
rk : but do you think he will fall in love again after that incident?
anjali : yes i do. life gives us second chances and what happened then was a terrible mistake but i am damn sure this time..
rk : hope you are right.
a few days later:
arnav entered the auditorium but didn't found khushi there. miss t told him that khushi was in dance room practicing her steps.
he went forward and slightly opened the door and saw her dancing gracefully. khushi didn't noticed his presence and thus continued dancing. her hairs were loosely ties in a bun and some of them were softly falling on her face. she looked like a bright light in a dim lit room. there was mirror on three walls. so her numerous images were dancing gracefully with her. arnav stood there and didn't realised that he was blindly staring at her until the music stopped. he quickly snapped back slid out of the room. but his mind was still thinking about that dancing angel.
rk and madhu were also practicing for their play. but suddenly the chain on the backside of madhu's suit opened a little but madhu didn't seemed to notice it as her hairs were falling on her back. instead rk had noticed this when he saw an disgustingly evil expression on yuvraj's face. and he absolutely loathed that look and much more if it was for madhu. as soon as miss t yelled over. rk gave yuvraj a dare-you-look-at-her-again look and grabbed madhu's hand and pulled her along with him to an empty room. madhu tried to free her hand but stopped when she realised that he was too strong for her.
rk pulled madhu inside and closed the door.
madhu: what happened rk??
rk began to walk towards her and madhu started to back away . he quickly came forward grabbed her from behind.
rk : are you absent minded??
madhu: what?? i don't have time to waste. let me go.
she started to walk but he pulled her behind and touched her back.
madhu felt a strange numbness and looked at him with her wide doe eyes.
madhu: what are you doing??
rk quickly moved his hands upwards and tied her hook. suddenly madhu understood everything.
rk : seriously !! how could you be so careless with boys like yuvi and arjun loathing around.
madhu : thanks but i could have handled it on my own.
rk: oh really?? but how??
madhu : i don't know but why did you care so much??
rk : cause i don't like if anyone looks at you like that!!!
madhu eyes widened and rk suddenly realised what he had said and quickly went out of the room without even saying a word.
later that day they all had another surprise in waiting when they found that all students of their class will be going on a three day educational excursion to a nearby local hill station to study the climate, tradition, culture and folk tales of that region. the trip was scheduled on friday.
when madhu and khushi reached home they told their mother and father about their trip. padmini and shamsher both agreed to it. but shamsher gave then a bad news. they might have to shift to mumbai as shamsher was getting transferred. khushi and madhu became a little upset as they didn't wanted to leave their hometown now. they also had fear of getting separated from rk and arnav. so they asked their dad to avoid it if possible. later that evening their mother went to Lucknow to meet their great grand mother who was terminally ill.
on friday:
all the students were filled with rush and excitement. a shiny Volvo was waiting for all of them outside the college campus.
khushi and madhu went and quickly grabbed a seat. khushi was way too excited about the trip and was in a mood to have blast. whereas madhu thought to be more of an educational trip. a little later arnav came and sat on the seat adjacent to khushi and madhu's.
khushi noticed this but ignored this pretending to be too much busy. soon came deepali with three handbags and stopped by arnav's seat when she found it to be vacant.
dipali : i think you are alone. will you please don't mind if i sit here.
arnav: actually i am not alone. ia m waiting for rk .so i guess i you can't sit here.
dipali : think about it. no one ever says no to dips.
arnav: but i am different from others .
dipali fumed when she heard all the other students giggle.
so she went back and sat in front row seats with yuvraj.
about ten minutes later rk arrived all running and rushed towards his seat besides arnav.
but when he was approaching her dipali stuck out her foot and rk tumbled over it and fell on top of her. madhu noticed this and was burning with anger and jealousy. rk too quickly got up and realised that she did it intentionally.
rk : (to dipali) sorry sis, your brother didn't intended to hurt you.
dipali felt embarrassed as she hadn't imagined him to call her his sister.
and at last entered a short height ed north eastern boy in his late twenties.
boy: hi i am zuma !!! and your guide for this trip. hope this trip will be full of pleasant memories for you.
