I know I am late... I am sorry!!

And for those who expected something of this chapter, then I am sorry if its disappointing..

Aur haan.. you'll see a different Khushi and Arnav in this FF, nothing similar to the show.

So... here's the update...

Chapter 4 - The Dinner...

"Hey Doc... U know any good Indian restaurant round this place? I am very bad at cooking.." Khushi said to Arnav.

Arnav looked at Khushi and smiled at her.

"Yup.. Get ready. I'll take you." Khushi heard him say.

Khushi nodded her head as she saw him vanish inside his house after flashing a smile at her.

Khushi walked back to her apartment feeling a strange pull towards this guy.

Khushi walked out of her apartment wearing a casual dress. Her hair was put into a loose plait and rested on her shoulders. Some loose strands of her hair adored her face. She walked upto Arnav's apartment. Hesitating to press the door bell, she stood there still for a second. Failing to mount courage, Khushi sat on the chair in the garden. A few minutes later, she heard the door to his apartment open as he stepped out in the same attire.

"Hey... You could have rung the door-bell?!"

"Umm, that's okay..."

"So shall we?" Arnav asked.

"Yeah sure."

Arnav and Khushi walked to the elevator and walked into the parking lot.

Getting into the car, the two started their way to the restaurant. Khushi had intended the ride to be a rather silent one. But things turned to be the other way round. Out of nowhere, Shining in the fading sun like a pearl upon the ocean... some guy sang. Khushi jerked back at the sudden sound pondering through the car. She heaved a sigh and turned to look at Arnav who was smiling and humming along with it.

"You don't like music Ms. Gupta?" he asked easily.

"I hardly find time for it... I work the whole day and when I get back I just wait for my bed to come to me."

"You don't time for music Ms. Gupta... Tera Hone Laga Hoon.." Arnav sang along with Atif Aslam.

Khushi looked at the man sitting beside her and driving. Never had she seen a man like him. He was way too different from Karan. She didn't know why she was comparing every single thing about this guy with Karan.

"You sing well Doc..." Khushi managed to break his singing sessions with a smile.

"Oh no Ms. Gupta... I am just a Bathroom singer... Atif Rocks!" Arnav chuckled at the end.

"No!! I mean it... And you know what, I have never heard a guy listening to such a slow track... Infact, the guys around me hardly know what music is..."

"Then you are surrounded by jerks Ms. Gupta... Not men.." Arnav said as he pulled the car in front of a restaurant. Khushi stepped out of the car. The two walked into the restaurant and occupied a two-seater.

While Arnav made the orders, Khushi was busy examining the place. At no time in her life had she been to such a restaurant. It was in no way similar to the big restaurants she had been to. Yet it was cozy and beautiful. Khushi pulled the scarf around herself feeling the chillnesss.

She then turned to the man sitting in front of her. He was kind of different. He wasn't anything like the men she had seen. She knew it was too too early to judge him but something in her etched that this time it was going to be a totally different experience. No Khushi, not again. Its too painful to feel that again. She told herself as her heart ached to think about Karan. She was brought out of her reverie by Arnav.

"Ms. Gupta... what would you like to have?"

"Huh? Anything light. Maybe some chappathis and dal?"

"Are u Sure Ms. Gupta?"

"I am perfectly fine Doc... and please call me Khushi..."

"Then Arnav would be fine with me Khushi..."

Khushi. No one had said her name in such a way. She felt at peace when she heard him call her by her first name.

The food arrived and the two helped themselves with the food. They ate the food in silence, Khushi preferred silence. She liked it this way.

"Khushi.. are you always so quiet?" Arnav broke the silence.

Khushi looked up from her plate and smiled at him. She smiles good. He thought.

"Yes... but I wanted to ask you something..."

"Shoot!!"

"How did you accept to take a girl to a restaurant on the very first meeting?"

Arnav couldn't help but smirk. He had waited for her to ask the question. But he preferred to anwer it the other way round.

"You are not a stranger Khushi... You are THE KHUSHI GUPTA...Daughter of Sashi Gupta. Who wouldn't know you?"

Arnav saw that Khushi stiffened at the very mention of her name. Perhaps she wasn't liking it. He saw that she stopped eating and was scratching the plate.

"Khushi... Maine kuch galat toh nahi kaha na?"

Arnav could see tears brimming behind those beautiful dough-shaped eyes. He hadn't wanted this to turn out this way. She looked everywhere but him. Steadying herself, Khushi looked at Arnav, her tears drunk in.

"Arnav... Promise me that you will never say that again. Promise me that I'll be Khushi for you, Just Khushi... Nothing more. You will talk and be with me only for who I am, not because I am a rich business woman. You'll be with me for just who I am... Promise me Arnav..."

Arnav could hear the shiver in her voice. The hatred for her name in her eyes. Arnav flashed a consoling smile at Khushi.

"I promise you Khushi... You'll be my friend not because you are The Gupta... I'll be with you for who you are. JUST AS YOU ARE...."

Short update... I know. Sorry again.

Awsome and superb
so these two are oposite to the one in TV and different
it's somehow a little difficult to imagins Arnie singing. But still a lovely update and very well written
