Part Ten
Rishabh rushed towards the railways tracks closest to the studio. He squinted his eyes and saw Madhu walking along the tracks, lost in thought, with her arms crossed.
He ran towards her full speed.
He grabbed her arm and pulled her off the tracks, into him.
"Huh'" she looked around as she was taken out of her trance.
She looked up at Rishabh in shock and confusion.
"How'd you know I was here?" she asked coming out of her trance.
Rishabh smirked and spoke, "I figured you're the type to become suicidal when something goes wrong."
She pulled free from his grip and stepped backwards onto the tracks again, "I'm not suicidal! I know for a fact that the next train doesn't come for another h'"
Madhu was cut off by the horn of a train in the distance. She looked at Rishabh with a shocked look and stepped off the tracks, back towards him.
"Who knew an hour was so short!" Rishabh laughed.
"I was going to say half a minute!" she lied.
"Suree Madhs," Rishabh said sarcastically.
Madhu pushed his chest and spoke angrily, "What's your problem?!"
He looked at her anger filled face, "What? What's MY problem?! No, what's YOUR problem! First you tell me your heart goes crazy when you're around me," Rishabh placed both his hands on her shoulders and continued, "then you tell me you can't fall for a co-actor. Then why I try to make us fall out of love with each other, you get angry?"
Madhu's eyes widened and then softened as she stared at him silently.
They locked eyes and then she spoke passionately, "Did you just say'you love me?"
Rishabh realized what he said and began to speak sarcastically, "Did I say love? I meant'what did I mean? Help me out!"
Madhu squinted her eyes in cute anger and hit his chest lightly, "RISH! You're stupid! You know, you're so stubborn and arrogant. You were so mean to me these past few days! Do you have any idea how much I've been hurting?! I was so convinced that you were turning into R'" the sudden smashing of Rishabh's lips onto Madhu's, cut her off.
It took her a second to realize that he had just kissed her. At first she struggled to get free, she tried to pull away from his kiss. But as he continued to kiss her and hold onto her with his tight grip, her resistance vanished. She closed her eyes and gave in to the kiss. She parted her lips and began to match his movements as she ran her hands through his hair. It wasn't the same as their usual screen kisses; it was different. It felt different. It felt perfect.
Just as the kiss was about to get more intense, Rishabh pulled away.
Rishabh put on a crooked smile as he saw Madhu's stunned expression.
"You said you can't fall for a co-star'but I think it's too late."
Rishabh watched as Madhu put on a sarcastic smile.
"How'd you know?! I didn't even realize when I fell for Kara'" Rishabh cut her off by tightly pulling on her waist.
She bumped into his chest and looked up at him.
His look was so passionate and his voice even more passionate.
"Don't even think about it'you're mine. And only mine," Rishabh leaned his head down to place his lips upon hers once again.
Part 13
Two days of filming passed as Madhu avoided too much contact with Karan.
Karan noticed the change in Madhu's behaviour and decided it was time he confronted her.
Madhu stood outside the dressing rooms, speaking to her make-up artist.
"Yeah! He did!"
"What are you two lovely ladies speaking about?" Karan interrupted their conversation.
"Oh, I should get my hair and make up done, let's go," Madhu turned her back towards Karan.
Karan placed his hand on her shoulder to stop her. She froze and felt a chill full of fear run down her spine.
She turned to face Karan with a disapproving look on her face.
Karan quickly retreated his hand and apologized.
"I need to talk to you," he spoke seriously
Karan looked towards the make-up artist and gestured for her to leave.
Madhu watched as she was left alone with Karan.
"Karan, I'm busy."
"No you're not. No shot can begin until I scream 'action' and right now, those words won't be coming out of my mouth until we speak.
"Karan, I really don't want to speak right now," Madhu looked past Karan at all the people busy in their own work.
"And that's why I want to talk to you. Why don't you want to talk to me anymore? I'm your director! It'd be nice if you kept contact with me."
Madhu glanced towards Karan and noticed a different expression on his face, a sad expression.
Is he sad I'm not talking to him? Madhu wondered to herself as she tried to read his face.
"I...I..." Madhu stuttered as she tried to figure out what to say.
"Just tell me the truth and I'll leave you alone."
"Someone..."
"Rishabh," Karan replaced her word.
Madhu looked at Karan with shock, but then she realized she had no reason to be surprised that Karan had known whom she was talking about.
"That...he...I don't know Karan. I should go."
"No. Tell me, or else shoot gets cancelled."
"He asked me to stay away from you," Madhu glanced everywhere except at Karan.
Karan watched Madhu with a look that showed he wasn't surprised.
"May I ask why he asked you to stay away from me?"
"Rish..." Madhu looked towards Rishabh's dressing room to see him walking out.
Karan turned around to face Rishabh, who was eyeing him keenly.
Rishabh walked towards Karan and Madhu.
"What's happening Madhs?" Rishabh ignored Karan and went to speak to Madhu.
"Nothing," Madhu replied nervously.
"I hear you have a problem with me being around her?" Karan spoke the truth
Rishabh looked at Karan slightly shocked and then towards Madhu with a look full of discontentment.
"You heard correctly."
"I was just asking her why that is?"
"Because you creep me out Karan," Rishabh smirked.
"Be honest."
"I am! The way you look at her..."
"I'm her director, I need to check to make sure everything is perfect. How would I do that without taking glances at her?"
"I understand Karan, but why do you sneak glances at her when we're off set?"
Karan looked at Madhu who was looking towards the ground.
"Madhu, do I creep you out?" Karan asked her directly.
Madhu who was startled out of her trance, looked up at Karan with a sorry look. She stared at Rishabh who had a protective look on his face.
Madhu looked back towards Karan and nodded her head slightly.
And with that, Karan stormed off, leaving the two lovebirds alone.
