Chapter Four – The New Mission

I needed to know who she was. I needed to know how she resembled Madhu.

I chased after her through the doors.

I followed her down to my main entrance.

"WAIT!"

I didn't give her the chance to turn herself around; I grabbed her arm and flung her around to face me.

Her hair brushed against my face. It felt so familiar…

I watched as her stunned expression faced me.

Then her pained expression as my grip tightened.

"Ow! Let me go!"

I saw a few tears building up in her eyes. I gently loosened my grip on her arm…I couldn't see the pain on her face. She resembled my Madhu…I couldn't see the pain on my Madhu's face.

Her pain filled face sent a sense of pain through me. I felt her pain…

I glared at her as she stared up at me with a fearful expression.

"Who. Are. You?"

She looked at me for a second and then released herself from my light grip.

She straightened herself up and put on a serious face.

"Madhuri Sharma. Remember my name. Madhuri Sharma will make you pay."

She turned and ran out of the main entrance doors as I stood watching her from behind.

Madhuri SHARMA?

I was baffled. I remember thinking, Sharma…how could she be a Sharma? She was a Kundra.

Then I remembered that I was mistaken. She wasn't MY Madhu.

She never was.

I walked back to my room and cancelled my trip to the bar.

I sat on my couch and stared at my bed.

I glanced towards Madhu's side of the bed. I looked at how it still sat in the same way it had been the day she…

I was hit with the flashback of her in the bathroom; mouthing the words I'm sorry to me.

Then the flashback of the first sight of Madhuri.

It didn't make sense.

It couldn't be true.

I pinched myself and grimaced at the slight pain. I wasn't dreaming.

Sharma...

I suddenly realized whom she was talking about.

I had completely forgotten that I had beat up Raj the previous night.

Raj Sharma.

What are the chances? Raj and Madhuri…siblings? How could she be Madhu's doppelganger? How could he have spiked my wife's drink then? How did he not notice? Why didn't he mention anything about it?!

There were so many unanswered questions on my mind.

I needed to know.

I was hit with a new mission.

The mission to answer all my questions.
