Part 33

Arohi reached behind her back to clasp the single button which was practically holding her entire blouse together. She struggled to make the ends meet. Had she put on weight? Arjun had got this gift almost a month back. But now she was pregnant, so she may have bloated up. She frowned. Arohi had really wanted to wear this gift today for Arjun. Shaking away her thought, she resumed struggling to tie the button. Her fingers stilled and she felt another pair of hands on her own, taking charge of the ties. Arohi looked up in the mirror and saw Arjun standing behind her, his hands holding her blouse and his eyes, holding her gaze.
He had changed into the white suit that Dadi had bought for him. He looked amazingly handsome with the crisp white jacket and trousers, housing a black shirt and a red silk tie adorning it. Arjun moved his attention to the blouse, pulling the ends a bit tighter, he clasped the ties together. The action made Arohi gasp in her breath and arch her back, her eyes on Arjun through the mirror. Arjuns hands crept towards her neck, he held the halter ties and tied them in a knot near her neck. Slowly, leaving the knot, his knuckles moved down, brushing against the soft skin of his wifes flawless back, all the while holding Arohis gaze with his smoldering ones.
Arohi closed her eyes as her handsome husbands touch created restless feelings in her heart. Looking at him and not able to touch him had turned out to be a torture. Maybe not seeing him would help her get a grip on her emotions and passion. When she had seen his hot body in the perfect suit, his gelled hair, the soft stubble on his cheeks with the deep dimples on them, the naughty smirk on his kissable lips and the passionate glaze in his brown rimmed hazel eyes, she had wanted to ditch the party and stay in their room all night. Was it even legal to be this handsome???
Arjuns plan backfired. He had wanted to drive Arohi into mindless passion whereas he himself stayed in control. But seeing his wife, with her eyes closed and head titled back, her soft pink lips slightly open to help her breathe, her clear creamy skin breaking into goosebumps under his knuckles, and her amazingly hot body in the black halter neck blouse and black and white polka dot saree, the pallu of which was lying on the ground, was making him lose everything that he thought was in his control. Was it even legal to be this beautiful???
Arohi opened her eyes as she felt the loss of Arjuns touch on her back, and transfer to her stomach. Arjun had moved his hand along her naked waist to her stomach, his eyes watching Arohi in the mirror. Arohis gaze was still hazed with passion, but she noticed Arjuns hand grap the edge of her pallu and drag it along her stomach and chest to rest on her bare shoulder. Arjuns fingers holding the edge, brushed along her stomach, the silver chain on her waist, her full chest encased in black and finally her cold shoulder. Pulling his hand down her back, he pinned the pallu to the bottom strap of the blouse to hold it in place.
Arjuns eyes returned to Arohis smiling ones. Their silent communication was growing leaps and bounds with every passing day. The blazing fire of passion had simmered down to a flickering flame of love in their eyes. Arjun smiled, hugged Arohi from behind and kissed her cheek. She was just perfect! And she had hidden the faint traces of their love very well with make up. Placing his chin on her shoulder, he looked in the mirror at the wonderful picture it made.
"Perfect nah?" He looked at their reflection in the mirror and then turned his head to look at his wife. Arohi smiled back at him and her hands clasped his on her stomach.
Straightening up, Arjun turned her around. He opened a drawer and drew out a small silver box. Opening it, he lifted a pinch of red vermillion powder in his fingers and placed a small dot at the edge of the parting in her hair. Arohis eyes opened wide.
Arjun was never the traditional husband type, neither was she the ideal pativrata patni. Infact he did not even like her all decked up with garish jewellery or wanted her to wear manglsutra and sindoor. But this one gesture made her want to smile. It was something very sweet and completely out of character for him.
When her eyebrows raised in question, he shrugged his shoulders in answer. But Arohi was not going to let this go. She held his hand as he made to move away. Exhaling a resigned sigh, he looked at her.
"I want everyone to know that you're married… to me! Chotasa dot lagaya hai but its noticeable."
Arohi grinned. Her possessive husband had taken over the loverboy in him, seeing his wife look so beautiful. No amount of compliments would assure her how good she looked tonight than what this one gesture did. Grabbing his arm, she turned him to leave the room and head downstairs to the party.

Mikhail walked into the living room. Rashi was moving about, checking out the preparation and giving last minute instructions. He looked around in appreciation. He had to agree that it was a good idea to give the decorations to Rashi and not to any professional. She had certainly done a good job. Securing the button of his coat, he walked towards the lawn to greet the guests that had already arrived.
As he entered the lawn, he saw Romit talking to Shefali. He rolled his eyes, his father had made one wrong move of allowing everyone to invite their personal guests. Arjun must have invited his low-class friends Billu and Makaran too for the party then. God knows whom will the new addition to their family invite! Mikhail headed to a group of business contacts that he knew.
He noticed the small intimate tents that were sprinkled on their lawn. A sudden rush gripped his loins as he wished he had been able to invite Priya to this party. He would probably have wooed her a bit in this romantic atmosphere so that she could return the favour later. The rendezvous in the store room still made his hormones jump like a teenager. They had made out in his cabin many times, but doing it in the store room had been an awesome experience. The darkness alongwith the danger of getting caught had pushed his sexuality into an overdrive, thus making them have the hottest sex ever! The memory of it brought a smile on his lips and a skip in his step as he headed towards Mr Khanna and group.

"Lekin kyu nahi?" Arohi whispered furiously.
"Kyuki mein keh raha hu. Bas." Arjun whispered back.
It had been a nice start to a pleasant party. He had entered with his wife, introduced her to his business contacts, with pride in his eyes. He had roamed the lawns holding her hand, her soft long fingers entwined in his own. Under the pretext of formal behaviour in front of everyone, he could be just Arjun having a pleasant time with Arohi besides him. But NO… his wife did not like pleasant things. She liked dramas… animated conversations… challenges… and most of all, she liked fighting with her husband.
Just when he had started to relax and enjoy the the party, she had to come up with a ridiculous demand and a ridiculous explaination for it. And then she did what she enjoyed the most… argue! Actually she loved not listening to him the most but arguing was like a aphrodisiac for her! Arohi was looking sexy like hell, more so with her wide questioning eyes and hot body which had stiffened in anticipation of a fight, but romance was far off from Arjuns mind!
"Lekin Arjun… kyu??? I don't want to do this drama anymore. Atleast not in front of them."
"Aru… baby… try and understand. Hamare behaviour se they can figure out that we are OK now."
"Haan toh agar hum khud bata denge toh kya hojayega! Waise bhi Rashi ne humey breakfast table pe footsie khelte huey dekha hai. So ek hi baat haina…"
"Ek hi baat nahi hai! If we disclose our plan then bohat saare sawal khade honge aur hum kisi ka bhi jawab nahi de sakte. Aur maine tumse pehle hi kaha hai, hum jitne kam logon ko involve karenge utna achha hai." Arjun was getting hyper now. He had to get this across to her. He could not understand why she wanted to clarify this all of a sudden.
"Arjun maine dekha hai unko tension lete huey… hamare liye! The question is always on their face, in their eyes, that if we are fine with each other or not! I don't want to stress them anymore. Sirf dadi aur Rashi ko batayenge…"
"Bilkul nai! Rashi di mujhe zindagi bhar taunt karengi aur dadi… woh to mujhe joote maar maarke meri haalat kharab kar dengi." Did his wife want him to get beaten up??!!
"Lekin Arjun…" Arohi stopped as Arjun came really close. He cupped her face with his hands and looked deep into her eyes.
"Baby… please! I promise that we will convey to them that we are in love and happy with each other, but without revealing our plan. Ok? Pakka! Lekin for now, just leave it…. Please!"
Arohis words died in her throat seeing Arjuns pleading eyes and puppy look on his face. She sighed deeply in resignation and nodded her head. Arjun kissed her forehead. "Thank you." He heard someone call out for him and took off in that directrion, leaving Arohi to dart arrows with her eyes on his back.
The mall incident had made her feel a tad bit guilty about hiding the fact from Dadi that they both were always together. She had seen the worry on her face and according to Arohi, it may have been one of the reasons that she had fainted. But she could not tell Arjun about the mall incident for two reasons.
One. He will worry himself sick for Dadi.
And Two. He will not like what happened after that.

"Hi Arjun…"
Ideally, Arjun should've been used to this opening line by now. But the softness and simplicity in this greeting still surprised him, especially when he realised that this voice did not belong to Natasha. He turned around and successfully masked his surprise and hatred when he saw Gauri standing in front of him.
"Kaise ho Arjun?"
She still looked nave and innocent, even sweet if you want to say. But Arjun knew better.
"Tum yaha kya karrahi ho? Oh… I forgot! Your dad is a business contact now. Anyway, enjoy the party, lekin mujhse baat karne ki koshish mat karna. "
Gauris eyes flashed with hurt and pain at Arjuns cold words. As he made to move away, she blocked his way. "Please Arjun. Ab tum mujhse baat bhi nahi karoge? Atleast mujhe ek mauka doh, apni galti sudharneka…"
Arjuns eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Galti sudharneka! Tum apni galti suharna chahti ho?? Toh thik hai." Arjun moved closer to her. His eyes hardened as his voice hissed out. "Toh mere di ka bachha lauta do!"
Gauri froze. She had anticipated hatred and abuse but still this stung bad. Very bad.
"Kya hua?? Nahi lauta sakti??? Achha thik hai atleast maine aur Arohi ne jo kuch saha hai, uss dard ko gayab kardo. Hamare families ke beech, hamari shaadi ko leke jo firse problems hui hai woh khatam karo. Ye bhi nahi??? Tohhh… Kamsekam mere di ke maa banne ka hope toh lauta hi sakti hona tum????!!!!!!"
Gauris eyes filled with tears as she slowly backed away from Arjun. He continued looking at her with hatred and disgust. Suddenly she stopped. Wiping away her tears, Gauri went back to Arjun and stood in front of him.
"I know I deserve all this. But I just wanted to say I AM SORRY. Mein jaanti hu sirf sorry kehnese sab thik nahi hoga, lekin thik hone ki shuruat ho sakti hai. Mein jaanti hu tum aur Arohi mujhe maaf nahi karsakte. Lekin tum mujhe koshish karnese rok bhi nahi sakte. Mein jaanti hu maine galti nahi paap kiya hai. Lekin usske prayashchit karne ke liye mein tayyar hu. I just wanted you to know that." Turning around, Gauri went away.
Arjun stood where he was. He knew he shouldn't believe her. He didn't. But what she said, made him think. He definitely needed to keep a watch on her. He did not want Rashi to see her and get upset. Not today, when she had been so happy.

Arohis eyes were on Shefali but her attention was on Arjun. She and Shefali had finished gossiping about Gauri and she was not surprised to see her here. Since Mikhail had made a deal with her father, Gauri may be a regular occurrence in such gatherings now. She had seen Arjun and Gauris encounter from far off and was curious about what was Gauri talking to Arjun about. He was clearly pissed off, but was she actually… crying? Arohi was not worried as she trusted Arjun completely. But what she saw after that, boiled her anger.
Arohi was not a passive person. She had a tendency to take action, whether required or not! And after being a spectator to this, she could not sit idle. She had to do something. Arohi had planned the surprise but it was for the later part of the evening, when the party thinned out and there were not many guests around. She had thought about moving the venue altogether to their room too. But looked like she needed to mark her territory very clearly… and she needed to do it now!

"Hi Arjun…"
Arjun almost groaned in frustration. What the hell! Ek gayi nahi ki doosri aagayi!!! Aur jisse woh dhoond raha hai woh pata nahi kaha gayab hai!
Natasha came around to stand in front of him and Arjun rolled his eyes. "C'mon Arjun. Mein tumhare saath flirt nahi karrahi hu. Lekin as friends and business associates, we can atleast talk right?"
Arjun folded his hands across his chest and waited. The pleasant party was becoming unpleasant at a superfast pace!
"Nice party. I must say, Rashi has an amazing flair for design. The decorations are fabulous."
Arjuns frown lessened and a small smile grew on his face in pride for his sister. He had been really proud and happy for her, seeing the successful embellishments. No harm in accepting a compliment for her. "Thank you."
"Seriously! The chandeliers and balloons inside and the amazing cabanas outside are just… wow! Where is she? I want to compliment her on that."
Arjun smiled and looked around for his sister. "Yahi kahi hogi. She was busy giving last minute instructions to the caterers."
That was the last time he had caught a glimpse of his wife too. Arohi was giving Rashi company as she felt that Rashi was missing out on the fun since she was in charge. And Arjun had felt amazingly proud seeing the two most important women in his life… looking gorgeous as hell! He knew Rashis saree was Arohis choice and she looked beautiful in it. But he also noticed how his sister had put on some healthy weight after coming back from the hospital. Her cheeks had also got back their natural rose tint, which she had lost alongwith her family. But it was all back and she was looking like his earlier Rashi di. All thanks to Arohi.
One vibrant and fiesty, like fire in red. And the other pleasant and calm, like sky on a clear day, in blue. He had chuckled aloud when he saw them clicking snaps of each other and posing for the camera. Arjun was observing everything from a distance, not wanting to disturb their easy camaraderie. He had felt so happy after a very long time, only because of his wife. But where the hell was she!!!
The question again plaqued his mind and he started looking around for her. Natasha placed a hand on his arm, and he turned his eyes to her.
"One dance Arjun. As friends? See everyone is dancing. C'mon…" Natasha started dragging Arjun along.
Arjun opened his mouth to say no, but he saw Rudra looking at them from one corner, where he was talking to one group. When Arjuns eyes locked on his, Rudra smiled and lifted his glass in encouragement. Arjun was confused and before he realised, they had reached the central space where everyone was dancing.
Natasha turned to Arjun with a flirty twinkle in her eye. She took hold of his hand and placed it on her waist. As she shifted her hand to his shoulder, the music stopped. A soft serene music started playing across the lawn and smoke entered from the gazebo area. All the dancing couples dispersed, leaving Arjun and Natasha alone, looking around curiously…
