I now remember how the raizada family entered...mama ji cracks me up

And oh shyam...he is just something else...from this episode I found him creepy and never liked him since

did it have to end on shyamu's face? that's the only thing i just did not like about the episode. 😳

otherwise, what a treat it must have been that second tuesday last june. open on two seething opponents, insults being hurled, again talk of money: phir paisa!! and then his only defence against this chit of a girl who is getting under his skin: tum jaisi ladkion ko khub jaanta hoon main. his weapon is insult and umbrage, he has no idea yet there is no armour against the woman you are meant to meet and fall in love with, many months later he will say as much: maine kitni koshish ki tumse nafrat karne ki...

but for now, he will throw money at her face, challenge her with insinuations: she has followed him to delhi, she ought to get herself her tickets back to lucknow.

hateful and hot. all asr. (got to say i was smitten by him even then.)

irritated beyond normal by his meeting with "uss din wali ladki," he senses there's something bothering him but he doesn't want to examine it at all. how cleverly barun conveys that, the slightest of hesitations in his eyes and a disturbed air, no he will not let it get to him... so di never hears that he'd met that girl again, the same one whose mention he'd banned the other day in lucknow when she teased him.

only akash seems to pick on something that his successful and smart cousin is not willing to see: uss din wali ladki hai kaun? usne gadi se zyada arnav singh raizada ke dimag mein dent kar diya.

and dimag enters the conversation.

our ladki sanaya is the perfect khushi in weird churidar and teeth gritting anger, more and more het up as the volley of damaging words continues. a promise to show him what not wealthy but honourable people were all about, take responsibility for her mistake and pay.

25,000 rupees? even while she's passing out (counting zeroes perhaps as payal says later 😆), she is all determination to fling it at him just to wipe that superior smugness off his face. fataka fight. lovely.

"ek toh hamara sheesha tod diya..." now i have no idea if the writers meant to say something more than just a physical fact there, but i read the shattering of mirror as a metaphor:this meeting will break her own image of herself, make her see herself for what she really is. and there's something exciting in that, to meet a person who actually helps you recognise your truest most real you. something inevitable about such meetings.

i passed out too. what else to do when some people say: tum bhi yahin ho... aur main bhi... we'll see! what's with our genuine dilli amriki accent.

the first words of ipk belonged to buaji, her refrain: hai re nand kissore. and while she is now happily entrenched in the tale with her customary meanness to sanka devi, her colourful hindi, her girth and its implications (try not to be the third passenger in an auto with her) and those who are fascinated by it all, today entered the other big contender for weirdest babe ever: hello hi bye bye.

and who is it but manorama mami, who has made her "audha" and intends doing something with it. nail polishes green and orange, churis multi hued and mountains of gahne, lots of and touch upiya on make upiya, along with some bitter words flung at hapless mamaji, she deftly painted a whole person in just three odd minutes. "pooja chhoti ho ya badi... bootiphool toh lageke padi." the lady is still laying it on, while we rush down and meet the next new character, the striking lady in white, naniji. strict with the servants, soft an gentle with her handicapped only grand daughter, she is looking for laxmi. and who might that be? sweet akash is despatched to locate the lost one.

a puja is about to commence and of course anjali bitiya is immersed in its setting up, but the veneration is kept by nani for her gradson. a meaningul chat between nani and her daughter's only son follows, on life and ways of living; as well as the duty of a generation to leave something behind for the next. he is moving too fast and his vision is thus blurred, she says. not so, counters asr firmly. but she is not to be outdone. while racing ahead, she advises him to sometimes look back a bit too and see what's there. you start getting a hint as to where this man gets his mettle from.

a strong grandmother, loving but in control. like all ipk people, a nuanced interesting person. cute too, did i hear her right? yes. she calls him, "chhotu." thud.

khushi arrives home on her stolen scooter only to get loads of kindness from the owner, the one who looks with loopy eyes at buaji, bedi uncle. khushi and payal trying to get buaji out of her huff is just too well directed and enacted. both sanaya and deepali have a feel for comedy and really good chemistry as sisters, there's deep feeling but also lightness and humour in this relationship.

and once upon a time, even the casual bhajiwala had something hatke in ipk. certainly his cauliflower would have chased kidnappers away. but that's for another day.

but wait, there's that voice again. growing a little cloying and familiar now, and the music. it's shyam on his dhaiyya ho. can't it just take him away and return the man of shudh hindi and ashudh intentions to his whole in the ground?

doc, risha, can't tell you how lovely it is to see ipk again. thanks for thinking of it and this thread. if i am going on too much, just tell me to keep it short. 😆 mami and her makeupiya, me and my ramblingiya.

All these passionate fights revealed a lot..made their hearts beat faster for sure! Their strong attraction for each other needs an outlet! 😉 ASR reminds me of the type of boy who is mean to the girl he likes..tugging her hair or calling her names. Doing all this to get attention from the girl!

cant help but wonder how it would have been if ASR and Kushi had met when much younger...they would have been best buddies who fought a lot but were their true selves with each other...

me too...loved that ASR...flirty and naughty and oh yeah the best part jealous and possessive too...(how Kushi got on his nerves dancing with NK)...the passionate teri meri ASR...
i really wish those episodes were stretched out a little and the hate marriage could have waited a few more weeks...
