Thanks Piya for the banner
Ok guys, fact is I am quite in dilemma. Looking at my likes and your comments I am not sure how many of you are enjoying this FF. Well I am personally satisfied and happy because I always wanted to write something closer to GHSP and this FF has given me that opportunity. Also I know that after few chapters, story will change and only the characters and background will remain the same.
I have a habit of writing in detail and hence maybe the buildup which is very similar to GHSP is long for you guys and you are getting bored. Please leave back candid feedback if you want me to cut some chapters off or if you think it is getting stretched and boring.
I am not sure how much I can cut short, but I will remove few sequences to race to the main story if that is what majority wants.
VERY IMPORTANT: Please add ritzypm as buddy to gets PMs for this FF
Chapter 7 –Raat Kali Ek Khwab Mein Aayi
Few days later - Yet Another Day
Geet was setting the conference table as clients were due to arrive in few minutes. Maan was checking the files when suddenly all the papers started fluttering. He looked at the source of disturbance angrily to see Geet enjoying the cool breeze as she had opened one of the windows. Words dried in his throat seeing a sweet smile as she inhaled the fresh air with fluttering hair strands kissing her cheeks. Geet turned with a smile to look at Maan who was staring at her. She noticed the fluttering papers and immediately closed the window sitting down abruptly.

Raat Kali Ek Khwaab Mein Aayi
Aur Gale Ka Haar Hui
Subah Ko Jab Hum Neend Se Jaage
Aankh Tumhise Chaar Hui
Maan again cursed himself under the breath for getting lost.
"I am sorry sir…woh...let me get coffee for everyone."
Hearing word Coffee triggered now haunting memories for Maan and before he could think about her hands caressing his chest, yet again, he spoke out loudly –"Nahi…bilkul bhi nahi…you don't even think about coffee just stay here. Btw is AC is not enough for you."
Chahe Kaho Ise Meri Mohabbat
Chahe Hasi Mein Uda Do
Yeh Kya Hua Mujhe Mujhko Khabar Nahin
Ho Sake Tum Hi Bata Do
Tumne Kadam Jo Rakha Zameen Par
Seene Mein Kyun Jhankar Hui
Raat Kali Ek...
She just shook her head with her jhumkas dancing in her ears and a soft smile playing on her face. As the client entered, Maan tried to console himself for yet another long night after tai-chi and shower
"Yeh ladki mujhe pagal kar degi"
Mr. Chopra loved the design of the new venture but he was most impressed by the innovative ideas of a community children's park, kitchen window from each house overlooking the park and a vegetable patch allotment for families. The small price for the allotment could work well to maintain the park and also lower the family budget of buying vegetables from the market. Though rest of the design was good too but it was more standardized.
Maan explained that vegetable patch allotments was a very common feature used in some foreign countries but gave due credit to his secretary.
"A vegetable patch can have fixed three sizes depending on size of family and can be made available to families at a small charge. So assuming almost 75% percent families will be interested and going by average demographic sizes, these allotments can be given on first come first basis. The charge will be small enough to cover cost of maintenance of the park, allotment and the building. In return, families can grow vegetables to save budget.
I have included the statistics of savings which families can expect. In addition to showing benefits, this can be used for marketing purposes.
I don't think Ms. Geet has ever been to UK or a foreign country where this is a very popular concept. But it was pure creativity on her part to suggest something like this which is not only a green idea helping the environment but also something which is economical, long lasting and an avenue for exercise and family time.
Even I myself had not thought about its application in the community project scenario but as I said, just knowledge is not enough. One requires intuitiveness and understanding of customer needs to know what fits where."
Aankhon Mein Kajal Aur Latton Mein
Kali Ghata Ka Basera
Sawali Surat Mohni Murat
Saawan Rut Ka Savera
Jab Se Yeh Mukhda Dil Mein Khila Hai
Duniya Meri Gulzar Hui
Raat Kali Ek...
Geet looked in awe at her boss. She couldn't believe that the man who could not tolerate even slightest of mistake was actually so big hearted to not only acknowledge her efforts but to say that she had done something better than him. For the first time she realized that under the hard exterior lived a man of principles who worked and behaved according to his own moral compass. Maan's respect multi-folded in her eyes and realization dawned on her as she understood for the first time that his every scolding was just a step towards making her a better professional.
On the other side, Sasha was red with jealousy. She could not fathom how MK could give so much bhaav to this behanji. She regretted her decision to take her lightly and agree with Adi to give her this job.
"Maybe MK is so nice to her because she is so different and looks so innocent. Iski toh mein…she just needs to go."
Mr. Chopra was very happy hearing Geet's praise and agreed that sometime a person away from the nitty-gritty of the actual work can bring a fresh perspective. He requested Maan to let Geet be part of the project team to benefit from her understanding of truly how such communities lived and what they wanted.
After client left, project team sat down to discuss the finer details. As both Geet and Maan picked up the same file, it slipped and fell down. They bent together to pick the file up bumping their heads and their hands as it landed on the file. Geet looked abruptly at Maan making him straighten up as Geet picked up the file all flustered. Maan could see that Geet was little restless and felt uncomfortable with even slightest of his touch. He muttered a feeble sorry as he sat down continuing the meeting.
Sasha and Adi were shocked seeing the little exchange. They could not believe that instead of shouting Maan had apologized to Geet. Adi adjusted his glasses and concentrated on meeting whereas Sasha fumed from inside as Maan called for their attention.
After the meeting, Sasha was still angry thinking about Maan first praising Geet in front of the client and then saying sorry to her. Suddenly she saw Geet walking thru the corridor.
"You Miss Behanji….I totally understand what girls like you from small town do and how cheap you think. You are highly mistaken if you feel that you can catch a big fish like MK with your innocent and nave looks."
Geet could not understand why Sasha was talking to her with so much vehemence but she was sure of one thing. "Sasha Madam, I am here to do a job because I need it. Just that, nothing more and nothing less. I don't know about how other girls from small town or big cities are but I just know this much that I don't have time to even think about things like this."
With that Geet walked away, slightly perturbed by Sasha's words. She was still lost in her thoughts as she was stopped from behind by a powerful tug on her dupatta. She looked back to see her dupatta tangled in a twigs of a dry plant.
"Hey Babaji…ab bas isi ki kami reh gayi hai. Ek toh pata nahi why this office can't have normal plants and upar se.."
Maan came out of his room to see a heart warming sight of Geet trying to pry her dupatta off from cactus. Everything else faded in the background as memories of that morning when she struggled with umbrella flitted inside his mind. A small smile uncocniously slipped on his face as he saw her struggling yet again as the piece of cloth just got more and more entangled in the thorns.
Yoon To Haseenon Ke Mahjabeenon Ke
Hote Hain Roz Nazare
Par Unhe Dekhke, Dekha Hai Jab Tumhe
Tum Lage Aur Bhi Pyare
Bahon Mein Le Loon Aisi Tamanna
Ek Nahin Kai Baar Hui
Raat Kali Ek...
He walked towards her in trance and started removing the delicate cloth making sure it didn't tear. Geet's hand stilled as she felt his presence. She calmed her nervousness and thanked him inwardly for making sure not to touch her in anyway. Even his proximity was increasing her restlessness but she could not help but feel his intent to help her.
"Dhyan se chala karo"
Maan's words ringed in her ears as he walked away after hearing her soft thank you.
