Shveta Salve pulled off a stunning performance in the last episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, but she almost lost it a few minutes before taking centre stage. On arriving at the set, Salve was horrified to see that the golden shorts attached to her mini-skirt were so short that they could pass off as an underwear.

Says a source, "The moment she picked up the golden dress she had to wear, she almost fainted. There were many steps in her dance routine that required her choreographer Longi to lift her up and rotate her 360 degrees. If she had worn those shorts, the show would have become unfit for family viewing. The shorts were at least six to seven inches shorter than what they should have been."

It's all good

We confirmed the wardrobe malfunction with the dress designer Karishma, who is responsible for everybody's costumes. Karishma says, "It would have been very obscene if Shveta had worn the original shorts.

The original length would have made them look like bum shorts. We then got a matching lycra cloth and stitched it to the same shorts in such a way that they increased in length. Thank god we got it done in time."

When quizzed about it Salve says, "I think the shorts were cut two inches shorter than they should have been. These things happen sometimes!"
