They all left panchgani around 2 at night to reach delhi around 8 morning. All were tired due to the long vacation and the night travel and moved to their respective houses to grab their cozy beds and engulf them in a deep sleep.
All the while maan was in foul mood, not much laughing or enjoying with people. Geet got worried seeing him tensed and tried to make him speak but he kept on ignoring the topic.
Maaneet reached to their room, all tired. As soon as, geet stepped inside the room she dropped their bags on floor and jumped on bed laying on it stretching her body. She waited for maan to come too but he moved to his cupboard and took out his office attire placing it on bed and moved to washroom to freshen up and take a bath.
He took a quick bath and came out in 10 minutes, he looked at geet who was looking at him confused, he kept on getting ready without speaking anything. Maan aj Sunday h why are you getting ready for office, she asked confused.
Umm geet, some work is pending, I have to go today too, he replied with:out looking at her tying his tie. Geet came out of the bed holding his overcoat for him, but abi bi its still 8:15, its still too early for office maan, no geet I have to reach soon, he said combing his hair while geet buttoned him up.
Accha theek h you come down till then I will prepare breakfast for you, ok, said geet moving out of the room before maan could say to her.
Maan came down within 5 minutes taking his laptop bag and saw geet was in kitchen warming up milk for his coffee. Geet leave breakfast, I will have something in office, he said moving toward door.
Maan wait a second, shouted geet from kitchen as she ran out from kitchen. Maan I will prepare soon, just 20 minutes, aap baithiye na she said holding his hand.
No geet am in real hurry, I will eat in office, he said freeing his hand and planted a quick kiss on her forehead and turned to leave while geet waited for him worried. He turned back and said don't wait for me at night, I will be late ok. He planted another kiss on her forehead and turned to leave.
Geet never let him or say anyone in the house to go out without eating anything ever since she came in the house. She understood something is really disturbing in the office that's why he is so worried and tensed. She just prayed babaji to let everything fine and not let him in any problem.
Whole day went by with her telling dadima about the whole trip to panchgani, the places they saw and the games they played. Then she talked to her mother and dadu after a long time updating herself with their wellbeing. Then she caught up with her mother in law, knowing about the things happening in London.
She did as many things she could think off to make her mind calm but all the while restlessness was eating her up. She tried diverting her mind by cooking his favorite and trying to study for a while but nothing helped.
She waited and waited for him to call once or atleast SMS her but none came. She tried to call him but he always came busy or switched off.
It was 1 in the night, when maan came back. He was exhausted and stiff with tiredness. He looked at the dim light in hall and assumed everyone to be asleep. With slow steps he moved to his room expecting geet to be asleep.
When he entered the room, lights were off. He opened the dim light bulb to not wake her up and moved to washroom to freshen up. He came out and looked at the bed which was empty and got shocked.
That's when he heard some noise coming from downstairs. He moved outside and looked down the corridor to see, kitchen lights on now which were off few minutes back and a faint figure moving around.
He knew who it could be and thus went inside to complete few of his unfinished work. After few minutes geet came back in the room wiping her hands and tucking few strands of her back and saw him immersed again in his work.
She shake her head back and forth in annoyance and said, maan food is warmed up, aap neeche aa jaiye. Geet I said na not to wait for me, I don't want to eat, he said without even looking up at her.
But you haven't eaten anything the whole day, neither breakfast nor lunch, atleast now have your food. Maine kha na I don't want to eat, just leave me ALONE, he shouted on her making her take a step back in shock.
Maan closed his eyes in regret when he saw her stepping back but didn't said anything to comfort her. He felt sorry but then wiped off all the thoughts as the today's meeting in office with his clients flashed his mind.
He saw geet rushing out of the room after a while and thought may be she is super angry on me now but was surprised the next moment when he saw her back after a while with a tray.
He looked back into his file immediately pretending to not see her and started reading the file again. Geet saw him engrossed again in his file and twisted her lip making faces at her workaholic husband. Then she sat on the chair near him and uncovered the food she bought for him.
She took a spoon of his favorite pasta and brought it near his mouth. He was about to refuse when his eyes fell on the second plate too, means she hasn't eaten too. God, how much stubborn I may be, but she is double the stubborn I am, he thought glaring at her eyeing the second plate.
She gave him an equal icy glare and kept holding the spoon waiting for him open his mouth. Slowly he did and she fed him the morsel. Then she took a morsel herself and then feed him again while he all the while kept completing his file.
Geet after feeding the dinner, took the plates to dispose them off in the kitchen to be cleaned in the morning. When she came back she saw him sleeping on the bed facing his back to her. He didn't even change his clothes, Just removed his shirt and slept off in his vest.
Geet too laid behind him, thinking of the reason for his sudden change in behavior. Babaji did I do something wrong, why is he behaving like this, atleast tell me my mistake nai would do my best to rectify it but inki behrukhi mujhse sehan ni hoti babaji. Geet tub hi na pagal h, velli hogyi h ek number ki, since morning he didn't had anything and adi sir bol rhe the ki whole day he had lined up meetings. Itna sab ke baad he would have been real tired and uska frustration bas tujhpe nikal diya hoga. Ab itna pyaar karte h to kya gussa ni kar sakte kya. Kal dekhna he would be back to normal.
She just prayed that everything would turn to be fine and then moved closer to him placing her arm around his waist and let the sleep engulf her.
Maan opened his eyes as he felt her breathes turning normal and realized she is in deep sleep. He turned toward her and kissed her forehead asking sorry for his behavior but it was necessary. He traced her wrinkled forehead and caressed their then took her in his embrace completely letting sleep engulf him too paving way for the next day.
Next day maan woke up at 6 in the morning; he looked around the room to find it empty. He was confused; geet and waking up early are two different things. He skipped his workout and went to get ready for his office.
When he came out, he saw geet coming inside with his breakfast and packed tiffin in her hand. He didn't said anything and moved to get ready. geet helped him get ready and when he was about to check his bag to ensure files are in there, geet held his hand and made him sit on the couch.
You eat your breakfast I will settle your bag jaiye. He looked at him lovingly realizing she had woken up atleast 2 hours before to cook his meals. He thought he owes her an apology for last night. Umm wo geet am sorry for yesterday. Arey maan why are you saying sorry, I know you were just tired and frustrated isliye office ki tension mujhpe nikal diya. That's completely ok maan.
Maan just felt his love doubled for her today if that was even possible. He just prayed everything went out well today or god knows how will she react knowing the matter.
He was about to leave when she held his hand handling a tiffin to him, aj dhyan se kha li jiyega, if that box came filled back, then see what will I do and ha I have my jasus nearby you so don't forget to skip your meal ok, she threatened with her big eyes while he simply nodded and left giving a peck to her.
