Exactly Rimu. Arnav is not the kind of guy who has flings, most importantly he was never projected as a casanova. He is shown being responsible from a tender age and his family which comprises mostly of women is proof enough that he could not have been so casual. My take is, the same as yours. Arnav will jibe Khushi just to irritate her and she might jump into conclusions. Sheetal here might have nurtured some feelings for Arnav and either she is really in need of money right now (hence the job application) or she wants Arnav for herself so might be a negative character plotting and all( i doubt this tho). There are already too many theories on this so won't go there. There simply has to be some coincidence for her son, Aarav acting or being like Arnav. This is to build audience curiosity.

But, as far as Arnav is concerned, his conscience is clear. Even if he had an affair ages ago, there is no need for him to bring it up now in front of Khushi and screw his own blissful marital life. Men don't want unwanted tension.. Unless, Khushi finds out about him and Sheetal and asks him directly, there is no reason he will confess all by himself. The episode is pointing more towards the latter.
