He saw Muskaan and Kirthi approach him, concerned. Arnav gave a light smile with a nod, insinuating that Khushi was fine now. Muskaan ran into the ward with Kirthi. Khushi wiped her tears as Kirthi ran towards her and pulled her into a hug. She sobbed into her arms, "Mama, where did you go? I missed you." She broke apart and caressed Khushi's wounds like a mother. "Mama, how are you so hurt? Dammnit, can't you cross the street with care? What if something happened?" She cried and hugged her mother back. Khushi also cried, seeing the effect that Arnav had on their daughter. She was a carbon copy of her father. He really would never leave her. Muskaan smile, and she also hugged Khushi.

"Khushi, I think you should forgive Arnav. He really is sorry. I have seen him without you. His yearn to see you well. The pain and anguish he went through during this dilemma. Khushi closed her eyes, and her eyes, now brimming with tears, gave up. They couldn't hold them anymore. She freed them, and said, "Muskaan, I know he is sorry. I love him as much as he does too. But, it's just that, so much has happened in these four years. I need time, to find myself. To be the Khushi he wants to be with. Time has molded our relationships in a tight bond. I need time, I need time." She cried into Muskaan's hands, while Kirthi quietly left and tapped Arnav, who was sitting outside, on the shoulder.

"So what's the plan?" Kirthi asked. Arnav looked puzzled, "Plan?" Kirthi lightly slapped her forehead, "Hai Devi Maiyya, my mother said no to you. And you're just going to sit there. Mama says I am a copy of you, but I never take no for an answer.

Arnav smiled, and embraced Kirthi. "I love you, papa." Tears of joy left Arnav's eyes as he hugged his daughter. He had his biggest strength with him, so he would be able to defend the whole world. Khushi's ego was nothing.

Time has passed. Khushi was well enough to join work, but when she joined, it was a total different atmosphere.

Khushi walked inside Allen's Industries fifteen minutes late. The day had been hectic, as Khushi was finally back to her normal schedule. She was set for the worst punishment and scolding for her boss. Instead, she saw the laid back atmosphere in the office as she walked in. The ASR was sitting on a round table, surrounded by his employees and sipping coffee, while they enjoyed the breakfast, specially ordered for them Arnav had been waiting for Khushi. He wanted her to see how he had changed. That she did matter to him, and he was ready to do anything that would make her his. Khushi was confused, and went up to Arnav and started, "Sir, I'm so sorry I was late. It was just that so many days, I was out of the norm.." Arnav put his hand up and cut off, "Khu.. Erm Ms. Gupta, no explanations are needed. I can totally understand. Have a cup of tea, and relax. We're all in the lay mood today." With that, he winked and got up, leaving to his cabin. Khushi stood shocked at two things- Arnav Singh Raizada didn't scold her for being late, he said he understood. But he called her "Ms. Gupta". She wanted to be called Khushi by his now warm, husky voice. Muskaan laid a hand on her shoulder, and said, "He's a changed man."

Khushi walked in her cabin to see a rose pathway, leading to her desk. It reminded her of the time when Arnav had delicately designed the walkway for her, when he was supposed to go to Agra for a meeting and left her alone in the dark. She smiled, thinking of the way she thought he was a robber and was ater him with his own clay pot full of soil. In the dustbin, there was a jalebi box. Their favorite confectionary shop. Arnav would always take Khushi there, whenever they were out together. She picked it up and smiled again. Under the box, there were plates of banana leaves. She remembered how Arnav had order a thousand banana leave plates at one wish of hers. Her wish was truly always his command.

She walked on the soft, rose petals. She had wanted to be in Arnav's arms right now more than anything else in the world right now. She walked up to her desk, to see their marriage album. She opened it, and tears teemed her eyes. He had worn a sherwani for her that day. He was the most dashing husband ever. She sat down on the chair, and looked through their marriage album. They used to be a big, happy family. Nani was chirpy and Di was jubilant. Payal jiji was joyful, and Akash was glad to see colors fill his brother's dark life. What all had happened in these four years? Would everything ever go back? Even if they did, things would never be the same. I would be gluing back a broken vase, with the cracks still evident and it being able to fail on them anytime.

Suddenly, the radio started to play Teri Meri Prem Kahani. This brought back memories of New York. Their sensuous night full of passionate love. Their dance at Payal and Akash's wedding. How he had lifted her so delicately and made her feel like the only girl in the world. In his world. No. She was melting. She couldn't melt. She was always expected to be of stone. Just calm down." Inside her, she knew that everything would be fine one day in her friend's life. And that day was not far. Destiny would win, and play its game. It would show its magic and unite the two epic lovers.

Khushi suddenly wiped her tears, and trashed the memoirs in her hand. She felt rejuvenated. She left the room, with vigor, and went towards Arnav's cabin. He was in the middle of a meeting. However, with the hope of his shattered life being pieced together, he dismissed his clients. She waited till they were gone, and started,

"Arnav ji, why are you making this so difficult? I told you I needed time. Why does everything have to go by Arnav Singh Raizada's time? Why are you hell bent on distressing me? Has hatred conquered our love so strong?" She cried.

Arnav clenched his fists. He couldn't believe it. She had thought of his love as hatred. She had misunderstood him again. Why was their love always leaning on a dependent thread of misunderstandings? Why?

Khushi let out a tear, and looked at Arnav with eyes full of guilt and pain. He let her go. She covered her mouth and ran out of the office, trying to hid her tears, but miserably failing to do so.

No, Arnav Singh Raizada still had not given up. He had played the first step of his next move, and his daughter would conduct the rest. The rest was in destiny's hands. And he was sure that Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada would be his by the end of today. And it was a real ASR promise.."
