~ Episode 6 ~

Continued from the earlier episode:

Scene 1:

Geet's House

"Knock! Knock!"

Geet looks up with a start...

She gets up from her bed, where she lay all day long, like a dead body...

She wipes her tears and opens the door...it's her mother. Her mother looks at her and tears roll down her eyes.

"Geet, yeh kya haalat bana rakhi hai? Bete, tum kab tak aisi tadapti rahogi. Geet, main taras gayi hoon apni purani Geet ko dekhne ke liye...Apni bacchii ko aisa toota hua dekhna mere liye maut ke samaan hai?"
"Ma!" she prohibits her...and wipes her mum's tears...She then hugs her...breaking into tears...

Saakshi(Geet's mum) walks her to the bed, and sits her down. She then sits beside her, with Geet's head resting on her shoulder.

"Geet...I knew it...Pinki ki shaadi main tum usse mili thi na? Tabhi tumhari aisi haalat hai? Ab aur nahi...tum mujhe bata kyun nahi deti ki woh kaun hai...Main khud jaoongi usse milne...usse poochne ki meri beti ne uska kya bigada tha...joh usne tumhari aisi haalat kar di hai..."

Geet straightens herself...wipes her tears and gets up...avoiding her mum's questions...

"Geet, jawab do...kaun hai woh???"

Geet walks away, to the window...

Saakshi comes near her, turns her, and takes her daughter's face into her palms...

"Geet" she calls her softly, "If it is required I'll go myself and beg to him and his family...but for God's sake...tell me his name."

But Geet kept quiet, like she did throughout the year...No one knew the truth...but as a mother Saakshi understood the pain in her daughter's eyes was because of her broken heart...Nevertheless, she couldn't succeed in knowing why...even after the passage of ome year.

Saakshi moves away in frustration, sits on the bed, then paces up and down the room restlessly and finally walks back to Geet, who stood there at the window, lost in her thoughts...

Suddenly...Saakshi erupts...

"Geet! Enough is enough...Kal tumhe dekhne ladke waale aa rahe hain...Kal shoot se chutti le lo...aur abhi you are coming with me for shopping."

Geet looks at her in shock...She knew about her mum planning this all the while...but when she heard it from her mouth...she just went numb...no air.

Scene 2:

Maan's house

Maan rings the doorbell...He stood their recollecting the memories of the previous night and his encounter with her...Geet...she was so near him and he just watched her...once again going away...from him.

He mustn't be thinking about her, he told himself. But, the more he tried to shun her thoughts, the more his heart wandered into her grief-stricken hazel eyes, her scent, and the pain he has caused her. All he could see...feel was her...even when he shut his eyes tight in desperation.

The door opens and he is surprised to see the person who opened the door...

"Ma aap!! Aap kab aayi?" he asks touching her feet.

"Tumhe surprise dena chahte the..."

Inside his dad was waiting for him...

He is very happy to see them both...

"Ma-Pappa...Finally aap log yahan aaye mujhse milne...I am so happy to see you."

"Hum yahan aaye hain apni bahu se milne...Ussi ne humein yahan bulaya hai...Tum toh humein bhool hi gaye ho...aur ab Bahu ko bhi akela chod kar apne kaam main busy rehte ho. What is this Maan?"

"Ma...aap jaante hai, this isn't true...I have a busy schedule...I am an actor aur iss profession main 24 hrs you have to work. Aur main aap dono ko kitna miss karta hoon...you know that."

Sameera enters with tea for everyone...

Maan looks at her, but she just didn't look back at him...

She gives tea to her father-in-law and mother-in-law...then picks up the black-coffee and hands it over to Maan...this time giving him a plain glance. Maan wondered what's wrong with his wife?

It was evident from the cold vibes that...there was some tension between Maan and his father.

"Pappa...aap pehli baar yahan aaye...mujhe bahut accha laga. Aap..." before he could say any further, his father cuts in, "Aarti, main bahar zarra ghoom kar aata hoon...Thodi der main wapis aa jaoonga."

"Pappa...main aapko le chalta hoon..."

"Aarti...isse keh do...Main abhi itna kamzor nahi hua hoon ki mujhe kisi ki madad ki zarroorat pade."

"Par Pappa main toh..."

His father simply walks away...and he stood there...his heart breaking apart.

His mum was torn in between her son and her husband...She took Maa's palm into her's and tears rolled out from her eyes...

Maan smiles at her and wipes her tears...and hugs her...

...

Sameera tries to break the tension in the air...

"Arre Ma...chaliye main aapko humara ghar dikhati hoon...Tab tak yeh fresh bhi ho jayenge. Aur phir main aapko city ghumane le chaloongi."

Aarti smiles...and kisses Sameera on her forehead.

Scene 3:

A Mall

A huge wedding collection's showroom...

The entire place was full of customers...especially cuz it was the wedding season. This month was the most auspicious one for marriages according to the Hindu calendar.

At one of the counters stood Saakshi, and Geet's mausi Jhilmil. They were also accompanied by Jhilmil's daughters who were pouring over the sarees like it was for them. But where was Geet for whom all this shopping was going on?

"Riddhi ja jaake Geet di ko bula kar laana. Shaadi uski hai aur woh hi pata nahi kahan chali gayi."

Meanwhile in the same Mall

Sameera and Maan's mum were in a crockery store.

They buy something and come out of the shop. Suddenly, Sameera's phone rings...

"Ma...aap yahan aur shops dekhiye...Main abhi aati hoon."

She leaves...

Aarti (Maan's mum) look around...and feels a bit weird...standing there by herself. She then decides to look around...as told by Sameera.

Her eyes fall on a stone sculpture of Ganesh ji. She walks into the shop and approaches the stand where the moorthy sat with a heavenly glow. She extends her hand to hold the moorthy, but another hand reaches out...and together they both hold the moorthy.

Aarti looks up and sees a beautiful girl looking with surprise at her.

"I am so sorry Maa ji. Woh maine aapko dekha nahi..."

Aarti was strangely still looking into her hazel eyes...she strangely felt that something connected them...she simply couldn't stop herself from smiling...

Aarti lifts her hand and places her palm on the girl's cheek lovingly...

"Aapka naam kya hai bete?"

She smiles back and replies, "Geet"
