~O~
Khushi waltzed into the busy hospital front doors like a whirlwind. She pressed the elevator button frantically, while adjusting her satchel around her and tucking her loose hair behind her ears. The elevator opened, she moved aside to let the passengers exit before she entered. Pressing the 5th floor button, she began to anxiously chew on her finger nail. She was worried and happy at the same time.
The elevator reached its destination and as it opened she began to step out if it. As soon as she put her one foot out the door she bumped into a hard, sold chest. She braced herself by gripping that person's forearms to make sure she doesn't fall back. On the other end, the hard, solid chest that she bumped into had his arm wrapped around her waist to steady her. She didn't have to look to know who it was as that touch she would recognize anywhere.
A low chuckle rumbled through that the person's chest as he huskily whispered, "What is with you and elevators ice-cream girl?" He tightens his hold on her waist and yanked forward so that she was pressed hard to his chest.
She smiles at him as she brings her winds her arms around his neck and saucily answers, "I thought it would be amazing to BANG YOU in the elevator." She smiles at him as he raises his eyebrow with a smile tugging his lips. He lowers his head and mouth towards her and whispers gently, "Wouldn't mind if you did, Mrs. Raizada."
Admonished at his blatant reply, slaps his chest and pushes him a bit back and says, "Enough Arnav, this is a hospital and my best friend is in labour." She walks around him to get out of the elevator as he follows her out and looks at her up and down with amusement in his eyes. 'Besides this is a friendly hospital so none of that." She wiggles her fingers around in no and looks back as sees him giving her a weird look. She nods her head as if asking what?
"What's with the paint all over you?" He asks her as he tries to wipe some of it from her hair and notices that it was not coming off.
She reaches out her hand towards her hair and laughs, "It was arts and craft day at the orphanage and the children were to paint a canvass." She answers him and he ends up smirking at her.
"I guess you're the canvass." He points his finger over to her white kurti which was filled with fingers paints and what not. She looks at her attire and her mouth forms a small smile. He shakes his head as he grabs her elbow and in a sexy voice tells her, "I think it is time that we changed your name from ice-cream girl to paint girl. What say?" He asks her in a playful way.
She pries her elbow out of his hold, grabs his hand and entwines her fingers with his and replies, "No! I like ice-cream girl, it holds a memorable memory for me." He grins at her as they both walk towards maternity ward.
She sees the whole family perched outside the room seating on the bench. She approaches Nani and asks, "How is Payal? Is she okay?"
Nani tenderly smiles at her eldest daughter-in-law and answers, "I think she is okay, the screaming has stopped as well as the cursing." As soon as the words left her mouth they hear a scream and a yell from the room with the doors busting open and Aakash walking out shaking his head in agony.
Khushi leaps out of her chair and asks with a worried voice, "Is Payal okay, Aakash Bhai?" Walks up to him and waits for his answer. He places a finger on the tip of his glasses and says in a painful voice, "Oh she is fine! It's me that is in pain." He looks down towards his hand, as there was a small bruising beginning to form. "I swear to god for someone as small as her, she has an abundant amount of strength in her."
Arnav who was leaning against the wall begins to chuckle at his cousin's plight as he hears his Nani telling him, "Chote, no need to for you laugh at Aakash Bitwa's condition." She narrows her eyes at him, "One day you will be in his place when Khushi bitiya goes into labour."
Khushi's hears this and locks eyes with Arnav who now had sobered up from his laughing and gave her a heated looked. It now has been 2 years since they were married, their life was filled with romance, fun and lots and lots of sex. But now it seems that the family was asking for them to begin a family of their own. She looks down shyly as she hears the screaming anguish of Payal from the room, "Aakash Singh Raizada, you better get your ass back in here."
Aakash covers his ears and shakes his head in a no. "I'm not going back in there. She is like a banshee in there." He looks over to his Bhabi and in a pleading voice tells her, "You go."
Khushi rolls her eyes at him and mumbles, "Men and pain. They can't even take a bit of it." She huffs at him and turns around walks towards Arnav. He straightens up and in a stern voice tells her, "No way in hell am I going accompany you in there."
She shakes her head and says, "I wasn't going too, but here hold this." She gives him her satchel as she ties up her hair in a pony tail and walks towards the room. She braces herself at the door, takes in a deep breath as she hears Aakash's whisper in the back, "All the best, Bhabhs."
She opens and walks in and family hear the vile curses coming out of Payal's mouth. Arnav had no idea that this is the same Payal. The kind, sweet nature woman he has known for the past two years, is suddenly a vile, cursing creature. He shudders to think what would come of Khushi if she ever went into labour. Well no thought in pondering that about now, because it's not the case at that moment.
*
It seemed Payal had been labour for almost 5 hours and the little one was taking its precious time to make an entrance to the world and its family. Khushi sat down on the stool beside Payal, smoothed her fray hair that was sticking on her forehead and gave her a courageous smile as she talked to her soothing voice. She helped her with the breathing techniques, while the nurse monitored the baby's heart rate as well as the mothers.
Payal swallows hard and in a barely audible voice says, "I'm thirsty Khushi." She drops her head back on the pillow and takes a deep breath. She was tired, and was looking frail.
Khushi nods her head as the nurse lets her know that she can only suck on ice-chips and now food or water is to be consumed. She gets up from the stool, walks to the nearby table and grabs the bowl filled with ice-chips. As she walks there, she feels light-headed, she tries to balance herself, but before she can even grasp she fell flat down on the floor with a thud.
Seeing this Payal lets out a shriek and yells, "Khushi!" The nurse who was by Khushi's side instantly, grabs a hold of her wrist to check her vitals and immediately rushes of to the make announcement over the PA system, when Payal stops her with a shrill yell, "Stop! What are you doing?"
"Ma'am, I need to call this in and get a gurney in here for your friend. She is unconscious and needs to have a doctor look at her." Nurse tells her with a quiet tone. Payal nods her head and quietly tells the nurse to call her husband in.
Nurse narrows her eyes at her and tells her that it is imperative that she call this in, but Payal with a hissing voice tells her, "You don't want her husband, Arnav Singh Raizada to know about the fact that his wife has fainted. Because I guarantee you, he will blow a gasket and take over this hospital like a storm." She takes in a deep breath and again says in a calm voice, "Call my husband in and you go and get the doctor."
The nurse nods her head in agreeing, steps out of the room and tells Aakash that his wife is calling him in. Aakash looks at her with a worried face and the nurse with a smile tells him that she is doing fine as the contractions have stopped, but now she is asking for him.
Aakash nods his head and makes his way inside, when the site he sees leaves him speechless and worried. He rushes over Khushi, pats her cheek and says, "Bhabi, bhabi, please wake-up."
He looks over to Payal, who was on the verge of tears herself says, "She is not getting up Aakash, I'm worried." Aakash again soothingly tells her that everything is going to be fine, he looks back down to Khushi and pats her cheek to make gain consciousness.
"She was fine one minute and next she just drops flat down on the floor." Payal tells him with a worried face, "Is Arnav ji outside?" She asks him with her eyes trained on her friend. Aakash shakes his head in a no and tells her that he got a business call and excused himself to take the call.
The doctor rushes in with the nurse, along with the gurney. The Raizada's were worried as they saw the doctor rush in and immediately thought that something was wrong with either Payal or the baby. But when they saw the gurney coming out of the room with Khushi lying on it, a gasp escaped out Nani's mouth as well as Mami's.
Aakash was coming out of the room when Nani asks him, "What happened to Khushi bitiya, Aakash?" He then goes on to explain as to what happened. Nani starts to pray, that nothing should happen Khushi. Aakash looks around and asks, "Bhai still on the phone call?" Nani and mami nod their heads unison. "I'm going to after Bhabi to make sure she is okay."
"I will accompany you, Aakash," She turns towards Manoroma, "You go and sit with Payal bitiya, she shouldn't be taking stress."
Khushi was laying flat back on the bed, her head was pounding and she had an IV line inserted in her right hand. She didn't know what had happened and looked around when she saw the doctor enter with a clipboard in his hand. "Mrs. Raizada, how are you feeling now?" He asked her with gently smile.
"A little bit groggy, my head hurts though."She answers him with a feeble voice, "What happened doctor? I mean I was just grabbing ice-chips for Payal and then next I'm waking up in here."
The doctor gives her reassuring smile and replies, "Mrs. Raizada, you fainted." He skims through the clipboard and asks her couple of medical questions.
He sees something on her file and then asks, "How have you been feeling lately?" Khushi explains to him that she has been feeling tired, fatigue and her body feels sore. He nods his head as takes her blood pressure and checks her heart beat. Khushi now feeling very nervous and scared asks, "Is everything okay?"
He smiles at her and tells her that there is nothing to worry about, he has ordered some blood tests for her and is waiting for the results. Meanwhile, he goes back to clipboard and jots down the results. He then sees that she had cold a couple of weeks ago. "When was your last period?"
Khushi embarrassed by the question answers him quietly, "I'm not sure, and I have been so stressed out lately that I don't remember." She tries to remember hard, but was having a hard time, "I'm on birth control though."
The doctor nods his head and tells her not to worry; it's probably stress and over tiring herself that caused her to faint. Over exhaustion to one's body can do that. Aakash and Nani were seating outside Khushi's room when they saw the nurse walk into the room with a paper in her hand.
The doctor takes a look at the results and with a smile tells Khushi, "Congratulations' Mrs. Raizada, you're pregnant." Stunned surprised and utterly confused with her jaw open she looks at the doctor as he told her the news about her pregnancy.
"I mean how can I be pregnant?" She stutters as she tries her best to comprehend what she heard. "I'm on the birth control pills and I have not missed any days." She looks at the doctor with nervous and wonders if he was mistaken. I mean she was happy, ecstatic if she was pregnant. This is her and Arnav's child, which they created with love.
"Mrs. Raizada, it says on your chart that you had cold a couple of weeks ago." The doctor asks her with straight face, to which she nods her head agreement. "Did you take any over the counter medication?"
She nods her head again as the doctor explains to her that some over the counter medication interfere with birth control pills and even though she takes the pills it does not matter as the medication counter acts with each other. Hence, resulting in a pregnancy. Khushi takes in a deep breath and gently places her hand over her flat stomach with a smile gracing her lips. The doctor tells her that her brother-in-law and grandmother are outside waiting should he send them in?
Outside Khushi's room, Nani and Aakash both had scared look on their faces. They didn't know what was wrong with Khushi and if there was how is Arnav going to take it. Arnav who was walking towards Payal's room sees his grandmother and cousin seating there and approaches them.
"What are you two doing out here?" He raises his eyebrow with confusion, "Is Payal okay?"
The doctor comes and tells them, "You guys go and see Mrs. Raizada she is awake now." With that being said, the doctor starts to walk away when Aakash stops him and asks, "Is everything all right?" The doctor nods his head and Aakash lets out a deep sigh.
Arnav who was perplexed asked, "What's wrong with Payal?" He looks at both of them and raises his eyebrows. Aakash didn't know how to tell him that it wasn't Payal in the room, but Khushi. Aakash places his hand on his brother's shoulder and calmly tells him, "Bhai, Payal is fine." Arnav gives him a questionable look and asks, "Then what?" Aakash braces himself and tells him, "Khushi Bhabi is in there." Before he could even finish the sentence, Arnav turns around rapidly and barges into the room.
He sees her propped up on the bed, with her hand on her stomach as she is in deep thought. He rushes towards her and with a scared voice asks, "Khushi, baby are you okay?" He hugs fiercely and places kisses all over her face. He kept on peppering kisses all over. He was scared as to what was wrong with her.
Khushi breaks the hug, cups his face and in a loving voice tells him, "I'm fine Arnav, there is nothing to worry about." She pecks his lips, but before she can withdraw he captures her lower lip and deepens the kiss. He invades her mouth, with his tongue stroking hers. He grabs the back of her head with one of his hand and with other one he encircles her waist and pushes her forward to himself.
She circles her arms around his neck and arches her back to give him more access to her mouth. He leaves her mouth and begins to trail hot, open-mouthed kisses down her neck and asks, "What did the doctor say, Khushi?"
He looks into her eyes, while caressing her face, tugging the wayward hair behind her ear and gives her a kiss on her temple. Khushi smiles at him and cups his right cheek and tells him the news that will be out of this world for him.

After what seemed like ages, Piyush Singh Raizada made an entrance into the world. The family was reeling in happiness, with the Raizada's blessing and hugging the new parents. Everyone one of them took new turns in holding the baby, he cooed and cried as he went from one set of arms to the other. Payal looked around and asked, "Where is Khushi?"
The door opened, in walked Khushi and Arnav with smiles adoring their faces. Payal saw her and immediately relaxed, she was really scared when she had fainted, but now seeing her up and about made her feel better. Lavanya and NK were standing beside the door, greeted them as Lavanya took Khushi took a fierce hug. NK hugged her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Arnav hugged Lavanya and NK and gave them both a smile.
Anjali was seating beside Payal with her two-year old Ayesha. Upon seeing her favourite mami and bua enter the room, Ayesha leaped out of the bed and ran across to Khushi who grabbed and carried her in her arms. Arnav saw this and yelled, "Careful, Ayesha!"
Khushi turns around and smiles at him. She reassures him with a nod of her head that she is fine. He nods his head as he walks up to her and places his hand on her waist. They both walk towards the bed, and congratulated the new parents. Khushi hands Ayesha over to Arnav so that she can take the little boy in her arms. He starts to coo, as he sees Khushi and instantly starts to gurgle, she places a kiss on his forehead as the family looks on.
Nani with a proud smile says, "Now it's your time Khushi bitiya to give us some good news." Khushi smiles at her as she walks towards Payal and hands Piyush to her. Payal softly asks, "Are you okay?" Khushi nods her head and answers, "More than okay." Payal raises her eyebrows and wonders what she meant by that.
Anjali looks at Nani and her brother as she too repeats, "Yes, chote I would really like become a bua again soon. So give us some good news soon."
Arnav chuckles and blurts out without thinking, "In nine months you will be Di."
Everyone in room was stunned to hear that, they looked from Arnav to Khushi who had her mouth wide open at the way Arnav made the announcement. He looks at her, shrugs his shoulder as if saying they were eventually going to find out.
Nani with a beaming smile rises up from the chair and envelops Khushi in a big bear hug as does Anjali. Khushi smiles at the joyous, cheerful smiles of her family and begins to cry. One by one everyone gives their congratulations to both of them. This day was indeed a special day for the Raizada's.
Arnav sees her crying, walks up to her, grabs her and whispers in her ear, "No tears." She wipes them off and tells him, "These are happy tears. I have everything and more than I could have dreamed off."
He smiles at her and says, "I can give you the whole world and still wouldn't be enough." She shakes her head as she grabs Ayesha from him and tells him lovingly, "I don't want the world, I just want you, our family and this new one that is going to become a part of our life soon."
He leans in towards her, kisses her softly on the lips and says, "I can't wait to start a family with you, ice-cream girl." She laughs at him as she bangs into him, hugs him and kisses him on the lips with a glorious laugh.

Exactly nine months later, Aarushi Singh Raizada made her entrance into the world. She had her mother's hair, nose and chin, but had her father's caramel-brown eyes. She was a force to be reckoned with, they had thought that Ayesha had her uncle's traits; well it seems this little one was more like her father then anything. If she doesn't get her way well then lo and behold she is going to take up the whole house with her wail of cries. She was adored, loved and cared by each and everyone in the family. Arnav and Khushi's story started as banging into each other, when destiny came knocking she grabbed her prince charming.
"There is someone made out there for everyone, who knows you might have already banged into your soul mate."
