CHAPTER ELEVEN: CONNECTING
THE DOTS

Khushi: noth ... nothing'I was ' sleeping.

Aman: ok'doesn't matter. Just want to inform you that Akash had come here to talk to you. Should I send him in your room?

Khushi: Akash Bhaiyya??

Aman: yes. Will I ask him to wait or send him away or tell him that you won't meet?

Khushi: ' tell 'him ' to ' come in my room.

Aman: are you sure??

Khushi: yes

Aman: will you really meet him??

Khushi: just shut up and send him.

She disconnects the phone.

Devi Maiyya had really shown her the way.

"I MUST RETURN BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE"

Akash enters,

Khushi: bhaiyya'.cries and hugs him.

Akash was startled with the change with Khushi's behaviour. Khushi has stopped talking with him and disliked him now. He came here with the thought that Khushi will scream on him and would ask him to leave her alone and let her be in peace, but this was just the reverse that happened.

He felt blank at his sister's weird reaction. He forgot for what purpose he came.

Akash: Khushi ' sshh ' what happened?? Tell me' tell me' tell your bhaiyya, Khushi.

Khushi: bhaiyya' bhaiyya' I want to go.

Akash: where? Where do you want to go??

Khushi: back home'with you all.

Akash: Khushi?? Are you sure?? You really want to go??

Khushi: yes Bhaiyya.

Akash: thank you Khushi. Thank you.

Khushi: I will go India.

Akash: yes Khushi lets go back to India and everything will be like before.

Khushi: yes bhaiyya. Everything will be fine now. I did a great mistake bhaiyya. I did. I must rectify.

Akash: yes Khushi. Lets go back and start afresh.

Khushi stops crying now.

Her Devi Maiyya had shown her the way.

Her return to India.

It will help her mend all the old good relations THAT SHE DESTROYED HERSELF.

She started packing her bags and remembered the incidents that made her pack her bags to leave India.

She left the very next day and stayed at Shyam's place after that. She doesn't want to see his face again.

Anjali and Shyam has gone to visit the doctor. Anjali was now in her end of seventh month.

Khushi made breakfast and ate. She was all alone now. She opened the newspaper to spend some time.

Matters worsened when she got some photos of her with Armaan in newspaper.

It was a front page news.

Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada to divorce Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada erstwhile known as Khushi Singhania after knowing her infidelity with Armaan Sen post-marriage.

"what ??" she screamed.

She immediately enquired in the newspaper office thinking that some business rival had done that. But she was in shock after knowing it was done by Arnav himself.

A bell rings.

A courier for Khushi Singh Raizada.

She took it from the delivery man. The sender was Arnav Singh Raizada.

She anxiously opened the envelope. She fell on the ground and was unconscious.

Her head had got a cut and she dressed herself. She was crying bitterly.

" I love him so much and he did all these to me'.why Arnav?? Why?? I never thought of anybody other than you and you accused me and filed a divorce?? Arnav'Arnav'..don't you love me?? Am I nothing to you?? I will call him and ask him. We will forgive and forget our past and start afresh."

Adding fuel to fire she got a courier addressed to her.

She received it and opened and the photos fell from her hand. She was in a traumatised situation. She looked at the photos lying on the floor.

Arnav with different women and some were almost nude. With those photos a note was there.

She picked up the note and read it.

Khushi,

These photos are of Arnav and some models of his AR group. Being a well-wisher would like to inform that these photos were taken after Arnav's marriage with you. He had been enjoying life with or without your presence.

Now, he has decided to file a divorce against you. You can use them for your better living and saving yourself from disgrace. He just used you for his business. I told you in case if you ever believed that he had ever loved you. He only knew power, women and money. You were a direct source of all three so he gave you the most importance. His deed is done and he needs you no more. He will send you the divorce papers very soon. If you don't believe me then wait till tomorrow.

Armaan is right. Moreover she doesn't need to wait. Everything needs to be clarified clearly and immediately before she takes a haste decision...

She called Armaan.

Khushi: hello Armaan?

Armaan: yes. Who is this?

Khushi: Khushi.

Armaan: Khushi?

Khushi: hmm. Had you sent any courier??

Armaan: yes. Had you got?

Khushi: how did you get hold of these stuff?

Armaan: '.err'umm'actually'I'I had to bribe Aman to get this personal stuff of ASR.

Khushi: thank you. You had always been a well-wisher of mine. Had you been not there I would have never known that Arnav was my baby's killer.

Armaan: I am sorry Khushi. I couldn't save you from that monster's hands. I wish I could save your baby. It was the most important thing in your life.

Khushi: but you could save me now.

Armaan: how?

Khushi: I want to leave him forever. I want to go some place where he would be unable to get in touch with me.

Armaan: then you have only one place where he would never go.

Khushi: where?

Armaan: my house.

Khushi: yours? I am a married woman Armaan. How could I?

Armaan: that was just an eye-wash to you. It was never a marriage Khushi.

You can go to London and stay with my mother. I will be here for my business in India.

Khushi (without a second thought and in a traumatised condition): ok. Arrange the tickets as soon as possible.

Armaan: there is a flight tonight. If you want I would somehow manage to arrange it. Just be ready with your bags and don't tell anybody that you are going to London.

Khushi: so what would I say?

Armaan: tell others that you will go back to Delhi but in your maternal home.

Khushi agrees and disconnects.

It was a kick in the teeth.

Every relation, every thing was over.

She was still in trauma for the loss of baby and now Arnav's declaration of her infidelity which she has never done and his own betrayal had made her go numb.

Those things made her brain stop and all her world had shattered like glass and was in pieces which can never be mended now.

She signs the divorce papers without thinking what will be the consequences of her this hasty decision.

At afternoon Anjali and Shyam returns.

They saw Khushi packing her bags. Khushi told them she will go back in Delhi. They thought Khushi was planning to return back to Arnav. But they were stunned what they heard. She had signed the divorce papers to annul her and Arnav's marriage.

They tried to stop Khushi. But she was hell bound to end her meaningless marriage.

Anjali: Khushi my dear please don't do this. You can't end your marriage like this. Marriage is something very sacred. It is a relation of seven lives not seven months.

Khushi: Di I know that. For that only I want to end this so-called-marriage. This was never a marriage. Marriage means union of mind-body-soul. Not only body. And marriage can never be one-sided.

Anjali: what are you saying Khushi? Why? Tell me Khushi. What made you think that Arnav only??

Khushi: when I was pregnant he' he'had a'.had a'

Anjali: he had a?? He had what??

Khushi cries hard and hugs Anjali. Anjali was confused.

Anjali: Khushi speak out. Don't cry. Please.

Khushi was still crying. She didn't utter a single word and handed over the newspaper and photos. But she didn't give her the note.

Anjali was shocked. Her Chotte did all this? How could he?

Anjali: Khushi are you sure?

Khushi: yes Di. I had enquired and all these information was from a very reliable source. Believe me.

Anjali couldn't stop her now. Any woman in Khushi's place would do the same. If Shyam ever does something like this she too will take such a step. But it was her good luck. She believed like Khushi because she knew about her brother's numerous affairs when he was in college.

But Shyam refused to believe. He knew Arnav would never do such things. He tried to make Khushi understand and tried to explain that Armaan must have done to create a distance between her and Arnav to fulfil his revenge and to soothe his hurt ego and pride.

But Khushi did not pay heed to Shyam's words. Moreover Anjali supported her. Shyam wanted Arnav to come to Mumbai, but Anjali did not let that happen.

Khushi sent the divorce papers for legal procedure and left for London that night without giving Arnav a single chance. But everyone thought that she had returned to Delhi and after few days they would get a calmed down Khushi and they would explain her then. But, next day when Khushi didn't step down from the Delhi flight in which she was supposed to go.

And after that,

Everything got jeopardized in the lives of Arnav, Anjali, Shyam and Akash.]

Khushi thought,

"All these blunders I did believing Armaan more than Arnav. How could I believe a deceiver more than a real man? How could I do so? Was I insane? Was I blind? But this time it was not love but pride that blinded me'

Hey Devi Maiyya' what pain did you give him through me? I believed a person who was immoral and I mistrusted a pure man to whom nothing was more important than me. Armaan always told lies me for his own benefit and Arnav always told truth and had lied only once and that too for my sake, my benefit. Had he told me the truth when I was pregnant, our baby and I would have got hurt and so, for our sake he kept quiet! And I thought Arnav, my Arnav to be evil.

How could I fall so low to think such? What a loss had I made! I continuously called him to be our child's killer. He was a proper father'.never a murderer'but I?? I cursed him and accused him till his last limit. I broke his toleration level. I injured him mentally, emotionally and in all the possible ways and now I am hoping to get that erstwhile love and caring. How could I even wish that? I don't have any authority to even dream for that. I ruined everything with my own hands. I spoiled everything.

Oh, Devi Maiyya please give me strength to face all the hurdles I created in his life and please give me all the pain what he has got for me in these four years. I don't want him to suffer anymore for me.

Armaan did so only to avenge the humiliation he suffered for his and mine broken marriage. He couldn't marry me for my deed. But he thought Arnav was the one who did this and so he planned all this to snatch me away from Arnav. Arnav was my protector; he never wanted to see a tear or an injury on me. Armaan was the destroyer. He first destroyed our lives and now he is punished by god and he will now rot in hell. Whoever did this deed did the best work of his life. If Aman did I would forgive Aman for all his mistakes'but he isn't because he is his brother. After his death I thought Arnav to be his murderer. If Arnav is his murderer I would support him for this deed. A person like Armaan should be killed. He must not be in this world. I know I am supporting a wrong deed. But to establish peace and righteousness we need to end war and dishonesty. To bring back virtue we need to remove vice.

Why Devi Maiyya? Why did I hate Arnav so much for which he was not even an inch responsible? Armaan was always an outsider, Arnav never was. And I, what I did? I chose Armaan over Arnav. How could I?"

"What a great fool I was! Hadn't I believed the outsiders there would have been no problem in any of us' life", said Khushi.

Akash: but it is better late than never. I know 4 years are a long time, but at least you understood finally.

Khushi: yes, bhaiyya. Now I will rectify my deeds. But bhaiyya I want to ask you something serious.

Akash: give your bag first. You won't be able to carry it. (Khushi hands him her bag). Yeah. Tell.

Khushi: I got confirmed news that Arnav had been single since I left. Then why did Aman give me false news and that too so important?

Akash: so, Arnav matters to you?

Khushi: bhaiyya you are not answering me. I asked you first.

Akash thought," if I tell her the truth that I created this she would again misunderstand me. She would never understand that it was the only way to get to know whose brains were working to spoil her life and what the motive was."

Khushi: bhaiyya? What are you thinking?

Akash: I was too thinking why Aman did this. This false news would be beneficial for Armaan not Aman, then why did he do so?

Khushi thought," I know that bhaiyya. I too would have been confused until I came to know that Aman and Armaan were half-brothers. But how could I tell him that? My married life had been ruined because of them. Now I couldn't bring the same fate for bhaiyya and Payal bhabhi. Moreover she is pregnant. I can't let her suffer. I don't want any woman to suffer for child like me."

But she hid the fact.

Khushi: ''umm''.may be, Aman and Armaan were best friends. Like you and Shamu Bhai.

Akash said,

"may be. But few things can be concluded from this incident.

First,

He created hatred in you against Arnav.

Then,

Armaan wanted to start a new life with you finally.

He was trying to hurt Arnav in personal level by giving him the news of your marriage and then creating problems in his business.

Aman might have been working with some international concern to bring shame on Arnav.

Aman wanted to create his own identity and wanted to be a rebellious-rival.

But eventually one thing is confirmed from all these. Aman was vengeful."

Khushi felt guilty now. Khushi co-related Akash's words and concluded the sentences with her thoughts.

She really started hating Arnav after this news.

She did marry Armaan for this, thinking it was all over with Arnav.

She did call Anjali to hurt him. She did create a company to disrepute Arnav.

It was her company in which Aman was working.

May be Aman wanted but she too was rebellious.

"I too became vindictive under their influence. I had changed myself in that form in which I hated myself. But these things are better not to be spoken or revealed. That vindictive and hatred filled Khushi will be dead now. I was loved by everyone, and most importantly my Arnav. And for everyone and for my Arnav I will revive once again into that form which everyone and my Arnav used to love.

I don't want to suffer any more. I had suffered myself and made others suffer a lot. Not anymore. I had messed up and made everything and every relation COMPLICATED. Now it is even more COMPLICATED than a Rubik cube." thought Khushi.

After four years of gloominess came back sunshine in everyone's life. Khushi, Anjali, Shyam and Akash were returning together in the same flight together. But there was a bad news too. Payal's father Shashi Gupta had got a heart attack suddenly. Akash had to inform Aman about that and they came to know that Aman will also come to India.

Khushi's eyes were searching for Arnav. She felt a bitter pain that Arnav was not with her anymore. But she was the one who created such problems. She felt a terror reminding Lavanya's words.

"In his life only one woman he loved and that is you. I just know that after you there was no one and will be none. But I just want to tell you one thing whether you too will be allowed back in his life after the hurt you gave him I doubt."
