Movie guess!!!!

Hi everyone!!

I wanted to know if anyone know about a movie that took place in a village where there is a well and every night one person has to jump in and it's because they did some kind of sin! It's an old movie that had om puri Shabana azmi and I think alok nath they had to reveal there sin!!! It's a really old movie! Please do let me know if anyone remembers! Thanks!
