Srinagar: When Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan Tuesday tweeted on micro blogging site Twitter, "Rumi time… 'Who could be so lucky? Who comes to a lake for water and sees the reflection of moon'..So apt for Kashmir", his tweet was followed by a number of tweets from fans throughout the valley requesting the mega star to show up once.
"We are outside your hotel, Plz let us in", wrote Qazi Wasif, an SRK fan on the stars twitter page 'iamsrk'. Thousands of SRK fans across Kashmir on Tuesday drove to Pahalgam in order to meet or catch a glimpse of the star that arrived in the valley on Monday for the very first time. Huge number of people were seen gathered outside hotel 'Pine and Peaks' Pahalgam where the whole shooting crew of the film is staying currently.
Junaid Ali, a college going student along with his four other friends planned a three day trip to Pahalgam ahead of Khan's arrival. Ali and his friends drove to Pahalgam which is approximately 100 kms far from Srinagar primarily to get their t-shirts signed by the Bollywood star sensation. However, getting an autograph is a secondary thing; poor fans couldn't even catch a single glimpse of King Khan, as they call him.
"When I and my friends heard that SRK, my favorite actor is coming to the valley for shooting, we then and there decided to get our shirts autographed by the star. I along with my friend bought new white t-shirts for ourselves and drove to Pahalgam with the hope of meeting SRK. We have been making rounds outside his hotel since yesterday, but couldn't get to see him yet. The security is highly tight. We are highly disappointed", Ali (22), told The Kashmir Monitor.
The SRK fans who in thousands thronged Pahalgam hill station on Tuesday in order to meet him are now disappointed at large in view of tight security reasons which bar the fans to shake hands with the mega star.
Like Ali, Mohammed Ishfaq had also come to Pahalgam to meet SRK with awe and excitement. However, given to the security reasons all the excitement was leveled to the ground as none of the local fans was allowed to go near the star. "I am very disappointed. This is really unfair. If a star is here, fans have a right to meet him, photograph him, and shake hands with him. Like me, thousands of fans are here, who have put all their work aside just to have an autograph by the star. This is really disgusting", Ishfaq, an SRK fan told The Kashmir Monitor.
