I have actually worked with prostitutes, strippers etc. I have even included them in my research...women who enter this profession for a variety of reasons. The first and foremost is money. This money is for food for themselves, their children etc. These women have to do this because if they do not, their family members will starve. Some women enter this field because they have been forced into it; some are enslaved and forced to degrade themselves each day.
Then, there are some women who enter this field because their boyfriend/husband are pimps and threaten them; it is slightly different compared to those who are enslaved or locked up, but all the same quite similar. A number of prostitutes have had horrific histories of sexual abuse and so entering this field was inevitable because they were either depressed, needed money, one of the persons who abused them pressured them to enter the field etc.
Then, there are those women who have substance abuse problems - cocaine, heroin, etc and because the cost of the drug is so high, they are willing to perform sexual favors for it. This is incrediblily sad.
Then, there are a small percentage who enter the field as escorts - volunatarily, no abuse in their lives and do it for the large sums of money they can get. This percentage is very small.
So what is Sugni's excuse...she is not starving. Gulabiya quit Rai dancing and was travelling in taxis and didn't complain once about any costs...TVS NEVER sexually abused or asaulted her...she has not children or family members who are starving...she is not enslaved? so exactly WHY did she feel the need to sell herself to the highest bidder? Can someone please explain HOW I am supposed to have ANY sympathy for her?
And then, her mother, she begs any man to bid on her daughter as long as she does not end up with TVS...she will sell her daughter to Aditya, the nephew of the man who loves her and who is already engaged? Where are the morals of these characters or these writers? What kind of upbringing have these people had to think we can find anything that is presented even remotely acceptable?!
