Can't believe you guys….I came for update and found thread finished. Thanks to my spammers – Abinash, Poongs, Shruthe, Tamanna, Khushi and anuandavi

Special thanks to Abinash and Khushi for all the pics. I so want to add pictures in my updates but I am very bad at finding them. Now, I can go this thread and choose from there.

Day before Mohinder was to be discharged; Maan sat with Geet in hospital caf having lunch.

"I wanted to thank you Maan. In pichle dinon mein you have been an immense strength for me. Agar aap saath nahi hote toh pata nahi mein kaise sambhaal pati."

[I wanted to thank you Maan. In these last few days, you have been an immense strength for me. I don't know how I would have managed if you had not been my side.]

Maan smiled – "Geet, tum mere bina bhi apne aap ko sambhaal leti but I don't think I can survive without you. Lekin phir bhi mein thanks nahi kahunga kyonki humsafar ko saath chalne ke liye thanks nahi kehte."

[Geet, you would have been able to manage without me also but I don't think I can survive without you. Still, I won't say thanks because you don't thank your life partner to live their life with you.]

Geet felt surge of happiness and contentment at his choice of words. She blushed but he controlled and smiled slightly - "I wanted to say something else also to you"

"Haan bolo"

[Yes, tell me]

Geet was very nervous not knowing how Maan will react and hence spoke keeping her eyes strictly on her plate.

"Dad…dad ke heart attack wale din, maine kuch socha tha. Socha tha ki mein us din ghar laut aaungi. I…I wanted to start my life again with you and give another chance to us. Truly speaking in kuch dinon mein aapne joh kuch mere liye kiya…I mean even before we came to hospital…woh mere liye bahut hai. Us se zayda meine kabhi umeed bhi nahi ki thi.

Lekin ab…I mean naraaz hoke nahi but because I think mom-dad ko shayaad meri zaroorat ho, mein kuch din aur rehna chahti hoon. Aap please meri baat ka galat matlab mat sochiyega. Papa thik ho jayenge toh mein laut aaongi. Daadima se bhi mein baat kar loongi. Lekin agar aap ko thik na lage toh, I will come back now. I can go and meet them during the day."

[Dad…the day dad had heart attack. I had though something. I had thought that I will come back home. I… I wanted to start my life again with you and give another chance to us. Truly speaking, whatever you have done for me in these few days…I mean even before we came to hospital..that is enough for me. I had never expected anything more.

But now…I mean not because I am angry but because mom-dad may need me, I want to stay back for few more days. Please don't misunderstand me. When Papa is better, I will come back. I will talk to Daadima also. But if you feel otherwise, I will come back now. I can go and meet them during the day.]

Maan blinked his eyes to calm the slight annoyance he felt at her words. He knew she had very few expectations from him but still, his heart wanted her to assert her rights. Realizing, still deep down how insecure she felt about them, he controlled himself and then softly held her hands –

"Kam hi sahi chalo kuch toh umeed ki tumne mujhse. Pehli baar kuch kaha toh sahi. Lekin sach mein itni tiny si expectation…tumhein thoda sa wish kiya, phool diye aur tumhaari umeed se zayda? Apna nahi toh meri reputation ka toh khayal karo Mrs Khurana.

Aur jahan tak tumhaare mom-dad ke paas rehne ka sawaal hai, agle two weeks tak toh ghar aane ki sochna bhi mat. Daadima ya kisi se kuch bhi kehne ki zaroorat nahi. Jab tak papa bilkul thik nahi ho jaate, mom ko tumhaari zaroorat hogi…mujhse kahin zaydaa. Moreover, I will come and meet you everyday so don't think too much about it.

Jab papa thik ho jayenge toh unki permission se I will bring you back home."

[Less only but at least you had some hope from me. First time, at least you said something. But truly speaking, such low expectations…I wished you few times, gave some flowers and it was beyond your expectations? If not yours then at least should have thought of my reputation, Mrs. Khurana.

And as far as your question about staying with your parents, don't even think about coming home for next two weeks at the minimum. Alos, there is no need to explain to Daadima or anyone else. Till Papa recovers completely, Mom will need you by her side…much more than me. Moreover, I will come and meet you everyday so don't think too much about it.

When Papa is fine, then with his permission, I will bring you back home.]

Geet read the slight hint of anger in his voice and his effort in controlling and making the situation lighter. Tears welled up in her eyes hearing what he said and she just hugged him.

Maan calmed her – "Bas pagal…tumne socha bhi kaise ki mein tumhein ghar aane ke liye kahoonga. Zaoorat padegi toh I will shift to Handa Haveli. After all it is my house too."

[Enough stupid…how can you even think that I will ask you to come home. If required, I will shift to Handa Haveli. After all it is my house too.]

Geet just nodded and hugged him tighter.

(These two hugs are dedicated to –lakshmi-….sorry dear could not tell you earlier nahi toh surprise nahi rehta…I just did not think it was appropriate before due to situations…)

Next Day Mohinder was discharged. For next ten days Maan visited HH everyday without fail and supported his mom. On the second day he had found her quite harassed and almost on the verge of crying.

"Kya hua Maa…aap itna pareshaan kyon lag rahi ho?"

[What happened Maa…why do you look so tensed?]

"Kya bataoon beta. Tumhare Bauji na…main aur Geet kuch bhi banate hain woh nahi khaate. Kehta hain thak gaye hain wahi fika khana kha kha kar. Mujhe itni fikar ho rahi hai. Ab kahan se banon unki pasand ka khana. Aise kaise chalega."

[What do I say son? Your Bauji...Geet or I make anything for him, he doesn't eat. He says that he is tired of eating all this bland food. I am so worried. Now how do I make his favorite food. How will things work out like this?]

Just then Geet walked in "Mumma aap na bekaar hi pareshaan ho rahi ho. Dekho kha liya dad ne sab kuch."

[Mom, you are get tensed without any reason. See Dad, finished everything.]

"Kitni baar emotional blackmail karogi"

Next day Maan had come with stacks of sheet. Rano was surprised – "yeh sab kya hai."

"I searched for some healthy recipes on the net Maa. Jo mujhe Bauji ke hisaab se thik lagi mein lekar aaya hoon. As a matter of fact I have got ingredients for "Paalak ke kebab". Abhi milkar banaate hain. I am sure Bauji ko pasand aayega"

Having said this, Maan started cooking for Bauji. Rano was overwhelmed with his love and care.

"Maan beta, tum coffee piyo. Yeh mein bana leti hoon."

"Mujhe aap disturb mat karo ma. Dekhna hai dekho nahi toh let me cook in peace."

[Please don't disturb me. If you want to se ok otherwise let me cook in peace.]

Rano and Geet shook their heads as Maan made kebabs.

Mohinder's eyes gleamed with excitement as he saw them. Before anyone can stop him, he picked up one and put it in his mouth "Ummm….wow…this is great"

Just then Rahul walked inside the room – "Yeh kya mom..ap dad ko kebab khila rahi ho."

[What is this mom…you are feeding dad kebabs?]

"These are not just kebabs but healthy kebabs"

Rahul popped one "They are tasty"

"I know"

"Well woh toh honge hi after all aapke daamd ne jo banaye hain."

[Well, that was bound to happen, after all your son-in-law has made them.]

Mohinder stopped short and gave an incredulous look to Rano.

"Mom"

"Ji…kal I told Maan ki aap kitna pareshaan kar rahe ho mujhe. Toh today he got lot of recipes and cooked this for you to show me how to do it."

[Yes…yesterday I told him how much you are troubling me. So, today he got lot of recipes and cooked this for you to show me how to do it.]

"Sach…Maan cooked this for me"

Rano giggled.

"Ji…mein toh yeh soch rahi hoon ki bekaar mein hi itni mehnat ki Geet ko cooking sikha kar."

[Yes…I am thinking that without any reason, I wasted my efforts in teaching Geet how to cook.]

Rahul – "How can you be so sure that he is doing this out of care and not just to impress us?"

Rano – "Kya farak padta hai Rahul? Waise bhi why does he need to do all this? Haq jatana chahta toh waise hi jata saktha tha. Aur agar ek baar ke liye maan bhi lo ki he is doing all this to impress us then also, so for what? So that he can be back with Geet only right. If he is putting in so much effort toh he must want it, right.

The way he has been with us in these last few days clearly shows he considers us as part of the family. He is reaching out to us and now it is up to us to hold his hand or not."

Moreover, apne aur gair ki pehchaan dukh ke waqt hi hoti hai. He did not come on Nisha's engagement or Geet's birthday but he was here when we needed him the most."
