Chapter Eleven

Khushi had imagined a lot of reasons why Arnav couldn't marry her. She imagined she was not upto the mark to be Mrs. Asr, She imagined he secretly loved someone else, she even imagined him secretly married but never never did she imagine the reason he just told her. So it is only natural that she thought that she misheard what he said.

"Excuse me come again?"

"Khushi I can't marry you because I can't become a father"

There is one thing about khushi that you guys should know by now, it is Khushi is never out of anything to say... no matter what you say she'll have a comeback ready... but now hearing what Arnav had to say she was somewhat speechless and that annoyed her a lot... she hadn't anticipated this... but Khushi being Khushi did just the opposite...

"does that mean you can't??"

"Can't what"

"You know what" she said blushing a little

"Oh my god what made you think that. NO ... How can you even doubt that"

"I dont know you just said you can't have children"

"that does not mean I'm impotent. If you want I can prove to you that I can do it right now!!" he said that last part with a smirk and a naughty glint in his eyes.

There was already a storm brewing in Khushi's heart and ASR's last line made Khushi's anger snap just like that.

"I think you should leave Arnavji"

Never had Arnav heard Khushi say anything at this tone. It left him baffled

"Khushi you've got to understand"

"yes I do understand."

"I can't mar..."

"I know you made it very clear. Don't worry. I wasn't going to ask you to. Therefore don't worry, go home and relax"

"Khushi listen..." Arnav grabbed her hand and made her face him and at that moment the door opened and Anjali, buaji, Garima and nani walked in

"What the!!!! Di what are you doing here??"

"ME!!! What I am doing here??? What the hell are you doing here chotte??? It's 2AM!!!! I never expected this from you... you can dally with any girl you want but why Khushi??? She's our relative!!! I told you a hundred times to marry her but you didn't want to get married to her. But here it is the talk of the town that you guys were caught smooching in the garden in the party!!!how could you chotte"

"Di let me..."

"no I'm not finished yet. She's not good enough to get married to but is ok to kiss around??"

"Khushi!!! how could you??? Why did you?? Here your marriage is practically almost fixed with Rohan and go around kissing you sister's Jeth?? " Garima was furious at the scandal.

"Aunty it's not what you guys are thinking"

"Then explain chotte!!! EXPLAIN to us. The rumor reached my ears 10 mins ago. I rushed over to tell aunty, we decide to talk to khushi about this and then we hear your voice coming out from this room. What do you expect us to think??"

"Khushi, Arnav explain yourselves" Nani declared...

All this time Khushi did what she did best... bit her nails... she had nothing to say...

"Khushi and I don't have to explain anything to you because there is nothing to explain. We had decided to tell you tomorrow but I think we should tell you guys now. We are getting married"

Thus dropping the bombshell on everyone present here...

"What!!!!" Everyone including Khushi screamed simultaneously.

"Well you guys are making a mountain out of a molehill. Is it such a bad thing to kiss your own fiance?? We were planning on telling you guys tomorrow but you guys clearly couldn't wait"

Arnav said to all present while trying to express with his eyes his dilemma.

"OH my god... I'm so happy... my chotte is finally getting married and that too to Khushi... Mubarak ho hum fir se rishtedar banne wale hain... I was so scared... it is such a good news... excellent news"

Anjali literally had tears of happiness in her eyes. If you look closely you'll see that Garima, buaji and nani is also crying but more subtly than Anjali.

Khushi saw all this with a silent anger. She felt like pushing Arnav from her second floor window.

Everyone made an attempt to leave including Arnav. Just then Khushi spoke up "Arnavji I want to talk with you for two minutes"

"HAi sanka devi you guys are not married yet"

"let them speak buaji kuch dino mein chote aur khushi ji ki shadi ho jayenge"

Buaji relented and everyone left them together.

"what the f**k "khushi screamed giving Arnav a push

"Ssshhh"

"don't you dare shush me. How dare you play with their emotions?? How dare you lie to both our families??"

"I had to. Don't you see the mess we got ourself into. What was I supposed to tell them??"

"And what will happen now?? what will happen when they realize this is a lie?"

"Do you realize the amount of scandel we both are in?? Nothing will happen to me but what will happen to you?? you do know na?"

"so what are you suggesting??"

"we get married if that is you'll have me"

"but you don't want to get married ever. You told me thousands of times... I can't force you into marriage"

"I can't let you go through all this scandal alone khushi. Marrying me might not suck that bad." Said Arnav trying to lighten up the situation.

"But I must tell you something. I can never be a father. Never. Marrying me will mean giving up a dream to ever become a mother. Think about it. Whatever you decide will be the last decision"

Arnav neared the door. "Arnavji"

"Yes??"

"We can always adopt right??"

"Yes" Arnav gave her a smile. "Think everything through Khushi. I don't want you to regret later"

"give me two days"

"ok... bye"

A part of Arnav already knew that Khushi probably won't say no to him. But a bigger part of him was feeling very guilty about deceiving khushi like this.

The fact is that Arnav can very well become a father. It's just that he will never become a father.

Maybe he is breaking a big dream of hers but he did give her an option to choose. He told her full and final that he won't become a father. So that she later does not regret.

I'm not much of a fan of this update but it's getting really hard to get some time out to write now-a-days. Please give me your feedback and tell me which way you want this story to go.

I'll reveal why arnav doesn't want to be a father in the next part.
