The day went pleasant for her. she was super happy to finally see Maan and Anisha opening up to each other. She joined her friends and forgot all about what she had just felt sometime back. she was happy and that was enough. Later at night she sat with her guitar in her balcony…trying to finish the song she was composing. Her lips curled into a smile thinking about Maan and Anisha. So there is more to love! Anisha's words came back to her—love is the most beautiful emotion in this world…

She never realized why and how Anisha's wored were getting imprinted on her heart.

"love"—that struck her and she immediately took her notebook and wrote the lyrics that came to her mind and Maan-Anisha seq in college sickroom flashed i9n front of her eyes. She smiled naughtily…her lyrics fit those two perfectly. She giggled and plucked the strings of her guitar, setting the rhythm. After a few trials, she got the correct chords. She did a little bhangra and played it on her instrument from the beginning—

Kehte hain khuda ne iss

Jahan mein sabhi ke liye

Yuuhooo…she shouted. She got it… the lines fit perfectly. She sat with her guitar..fully satisfied with her own creation and played it all over again. She had a very sweet smile in her face…thinking about Maan-Anisha…she was awed by the feelings they shared…understanding each other…without words and this is what gave her the lyrics. She wanted to make her lyrics more beautiful….like people should feel "love" when they hear it.

And for some unknown reasons, she felt her cheeks turn a bit warm when she came to her favourite line—mujhko banaya tere jaise hi kisi ke liye…!!!

And she just loved the whole feel of it…it was sooo soothing…! She smiled to herself and Anisha's words hit her again—pyaar tho kabhi bhi..kahin bhi…kisi se bhi ho sakta hai..

She stopped, "hey..why am I thinking all that?"

She hit her head and went to sleep.

The week went quickly and their summer break started. Geet was the happiest person. She'd give all her time to her friends. It was the 1^st day of their break. She was out at Roops place the whole day. Prem and Aryan were there too. They watched movies, had lunch together…geet and Aryan rolled on the floor laughing at Roops-prem world war 3. Geet was so lost in her own world… that she never realized the pair of eyes looking at her intently…lost in her.

Aryan was slowly but definitely falling for her…her smile… her bubbly carefree nature… she was fun loving..she was understanding… and she could make any situation lighter! He smiled at her cute antics..to him, she was an angel.. she loved people around her madly. In short…he was just falling for her simplicity and the liveliness in her.

She reached KM later in the evening. The 1^st thing she did was ti seach for Maan. Dadima was out for some meeting. Nakul saw her and he knew her 1^st question will be—where is Maan!

She saw nakul and opened her mouth to ask about Maan when nakul promptly replied, "geet baby..chote saab apne kamre mein hain..", not letting her speak a word.

She ran upstairs and found Maan standing by the window—quiet and lost. She went and stood behind him quietly, trying to observe his face…somewhere understanding his expression that he was upset about something. Maan hadn't realized her presence. He was lost in his own world.

She nudged him, "kya soch raha hain?"

He snapped and looked at her, "tu yahan?"

She immediately bit back, "kyun mein yahan kyun nahi aa sakti? Tujhe kya problem hain?"

Maan (irritated): ek baat boli nahi ke phat se shuru ho jati hai tu, hain na!!!

Geet: tu agar aise poochega to aisa hi jawab milega na aur..

And she stopped right there when her eyes fell on his pale face.. ge looked forlorn. She was immediately reminded of the day she had met him the 1^st time after his parents' death. He was quiet…he never spoke to anyone….he'd sit alone for hours looking into oblivion…he never socialized..he had infact stopped talking to Dadima also! It took her almost 1 year to make him speak out heart to her and today…she saw that look again!! Like there is something he was sad about and wanted to speak out. And just look at her heart playing with her—she understood his feelings right through his face…without even realizing! Just sometime back she was awed by the way Maan and Anisha understood each other without words!

She held his hand and rested her head on his shoulder and looked out of the window. Maan felt her movements but stood still. They stood like that quietly for sometime. His hand was getting warmed where she had held him…he smiled coming out of his reverie and looked at her. she was looking out! He wondered if she was the same girl who had made his life a living hell in Handa mansion just because she wanted him to speak up. He went back to his thoughts when she spoke up breaking the silence, "so…this is what Anisha di's absence does to you, hmm anarkali?"

He immediately looked ta her in shock..did she just read his mind? She looked at his face and giggled, standing straight in front of him, putting her hands on her waist, "so..what did you think Mr. Maan Singh Khurana ke mujhe, the great geet Handa ko kuch pata nahi chalega hmm????"

Maan: kya keh rahi hai tu?

Geet: oyeee don't try to act as if you don't understand anything, smajha!!! Anisha di nahi hai isiliye subah se dilip kumar bana baitha hai!!!

Maan sighed and looked away. He knew he can't hide anything from her… actually he didn't want to!!! He can't re-live the torture again..NO WAYS he was going to relive the atyachaar!!!

Geet pulled him and made him sit on the bed and herself sat on the floor facing him. She made a cute angry face, "par mein tujhe thodi naraz hun!!"

He looked up at her with a big question mark on his face. Geet could never be mad at him..no..never! he had never seen a mad geet… she was always a gundi.. and bossed over him..but she never got angry on him, be it any reason!!! And he knew from heart that geet could never ever be mad at him and if she is today..means there is something definitely wrong.

Maan: kya baat hai geet? Did I do something?

His question was sincere. She made a cute put, "tune apni zindagi ki itni important baat ko share karna sahi nahi samjha? Who bhi apni best friend se??"

He realized what she was hinting at.

Maan: nahi geet… aisa nahi hain.. meine batana chahta tha..

Geet cut him, "kab?? Apni shaadi hone ke baad ya mere marne ke baad?"

He instantly shouted at her, "GEET..SHUT UP!"

She went silent hearing his voice…!!! His face was red in anger. She wondered why he got angry!

Maan: tu kabhi bhi kuch bhi bol deti hai iska matlab ye nahi ki jo mann mein aaya wahi bol di aur mein chup rahun????

Geet had never seen this side of Maan.

Geet: arrey baba tu itna naraz kyun ho raha hai? What did i do?

He got really annoyed for her being so ignorant and held her arms tightly, almost lifting her up, "i can't afford to lose anyone of you anymore..samjhi tu!!! Not you…not Dadima…not mamma..and..and not even Anisha samjhi! Dare you say something like that again…"

His fingers dug into her skin..almost making it bleed but she felt nothing. She looked at his face with a smile on her lips.. she was amazed realizing he is not the same little Maan anymore who used to cry for little things and go to her…who used to hide even though he was correct…who never knew what anger was on the 1^st place…. But today she saw that anger on his face and the pain in his eyes. She smiled to herself…to him…cursing herself in her heart for making him feel like this! Guess he has changed a lot over the years…she had missed that phase od his life when she was away in shimla!

His grip loosened seeing her smile and looked away, frustrated! He had seen his parents die in front of his eyes..and he can't bear another loss now! These people meant the world to him and geet's stupid words just opened his wound and pain and fear came out as anger!!

She raised up a bit and cupped his face, turning it to face her, "am sorry…" she said softly, "mein tujhe chodke kahin nahi jaungi.. hum me se koi nahi jayega.. MEIN KISI KO JAANE NAHI DUNGI…"

He closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. If she said it..she meant it!!!! He relaxed slowly. He didn't even realize that he had hurt her..and even geet never realized it too.

Geet: Maan…sorry na baba..ab to please ye silent movie band kar de…

Her cute complaints just made him smile. He leaned forward and hugged her tight, calming his scared heart. She hugged him back…gently patting his shoulder! There was something in this hug that made geet smile..like she was contended to see him calm and composed.

If you think they loved each other…then probably yes…like best friends do…there was no sexual connotation between them. It was pure serene and blissful!!!!

Maan closed his eyes and took a deep breath in.

Maan: mein aaj ussey milne airport gaya tha..

she just held him, listening to him! She had promised herself and her mom that she'd be there for him…and she WILL be there… no matter what! He pulled out out of the hug looking down.

Geet looked at him curiously. "tu mila unkse?? Kuch kaha di ne???"

Maan shook his head, "i couldn't see her go…"

She felt something crack within her again… she wondered what was it..but then she didn't feel anything else after that nano second of pain..she ignored and listened to him!!!! Why to care about something that you know nothing about!

Maan: kaafi security thi… door se dekha meine usey…

Geet: ohh teri… tujhe jaana chahiye tha na.. usnke paas..

Maan: hmm.. jaana tho chahta tha… but I just couldn't!!!! I didn't know ye sahi hota ya nahi…. I mean she had seen me looking and was looking at him..like she wanted to tell me something..i just..i just couldn't…

Geet , being geet, hit her head and fell flat on the floor, "dhat!!! Gayi bhains paani mein! Maan..idiot.. teri akal kya sahi time pe ghaas charne jaati hain?" she tried to make the situation lighter.

Maan rolled his eyes and lied down beside her on the floor.

Maan: kya keh rahi hai tu geet? Mein kitni uljhan mein tha pata hain… pata hi nahi chala ke kya sochun..kya kahon..kya karun…

She waked hard on his shoulder and looked up at the ceiling, "she wanted you to go to her Maan… and meet her! par tu idiot stupid…uss din tho di ki baatein bina kahe samajh gaya…tho aaj kya hua?

Maan: yaar uss din ki baat alag thi na..

Geet: yeah right… isiliye bechari di ne kitni himmat se apne dil ki baat keh di aur tu… aarrghh I hate you for doing this to her!!!!

That had caught Maan's attention. He sat up straight and pulled geet so that even she stoo sat up and stared at her unbelievably. Like geet read his expressions.

Geet: aise kya dekh raha hain? Sahi tho keh rahi hoon…she loves you a lot duffer.. and she really meant it Maan..she can't stay away from you! That's why she didn't want to go to London!

Maan: did she tell you that?

She shrugged as a-matter-of-fact, "ab tu tho unse I love you kahega nahi… tho she has only me to pour her heart out!!!

Maan was shocked beyond words. They still needed to confesses..that was it!!! They were very clear about each others' feelings…but saying it was a tough task!!!!

Geet; arrey budhu… tell her that you love her.. ek din mein tera ye haal hai I wonder how will I cope up with you all this month!!!

Maan: tho tujhe saari baat pata thi? Even about me?

She smiled cutely, "teri aankhon se jhalakta hai Maan… I know you are the best for her!

Maan has never felt this happy before. And he felt much lighter sharing his feelings with geet. He hugged her tight screaming, "geet.. you are the est you know that!! meri zindagi mein teri jagah koi nahi le sakta…!!! You are just the best!"

Geet just smiled and hugged him back tight. Dadima had just returned and was going to her room when she heard noises from Maan's room. She knew geet was there. She just peeped in to check on her two favorite children though the half opened door and found both of them hugging each other tight. Geet's face was visible to her..she noticed the glow on her face. She smiled thinking something and walked away!
