Piya was feeling protected, being loved. She knew it was abhay but something in back of her mind was not allowing her to push back Abhay. She kept holding him. She felt safe in his arms. Piya looked at him with tears in her eyes.
Abhay looked into her eyes which were filled with tears. He wiped it and shook his head indicating not to cry. Her eyes spoke volumes. It had questions, faith and for a moment did he saw love? He didn't know. All he knew was that there was no hate.
Piya searched his eyes to find answers but she couldn't. She saw care, fear but she didn't knew how to react. Suddenly she pushed Abhay yelling," why did you save me? this is what you wanted right? To kill me, then why? You destroyed everything. I lost my friends, reputation, everything, just because of you (pulling his collar) you ruined everything. Why did you do this? Answer me Abhay. why? You have always been bad news. I have just lost things whenever you are round. I hate you Abhay! I hate'" but before Piya could say anything, she was unconscious.
Abhay picked Piya in his arms and started walking towards her house.

DOBRIYAL HOUSE
Tara was walking to and fro. She was tensed. Vihaan had already filled her in with things that happened in college. She was worried for Piya. After a long time she had seen Piya happy all because of Misha and Varun and today again she was pushed back in the darkness.
Tara saw Abhay entering the house with Piya in his arms. She rushed towards him," piya! piya! get up. What happened to you?"
Tara made way to piya's room with abhay. abhay placed piya slowly on bed, "she is unconscious. Don't worry she will be fine"
Tara immediately called up doctor and pulled Abhay with her in living area. She was furious," why the hell did you do that Abhay? why? Do you have any idea what you have done to her?"
Abhay didn't say anything. He was unusually quiet.
Tara knew this was coming," You ruined her reputation, she lost her friends, everything just because of that MMS. Just tell me one thing, what if something similar happened with alina? Leave alina, what if it happened with pari?"
Abhay interrupted," don't get them in between. Whatever I did was right." Although he said those words, he wasn't himself sure if he believed that.
Tara shook her head," how? By ruining her reputation, by killing her from within. Its after years I am seeing her this vulnerable. Last time was when we lost our parents. Abhay she never came out of that trauma. She is still suffering but atleast she had started living her life without nightmares, but you again pushed her back. I am warning you Abhay. From now on, you stay away from Piya or you'll have to answer to me. Now get out before I regret doing something awful".
Abhay left. Tara rushed towards piya. Meanwhile doctor also came. He checked her and gave her some medicines. He advised Piya complete bed rest without any stress.

RAICHAND HOUSE
Abhay was entered the house. Vihaan was standing at the door. Abhay ignored and walked past him.
"Where the hell are you going? Wait here. We need to talk", yelled vihaan.
Abhay rolled his eyes," not you too. I know what you want to say. So just cut it out vihaan"
Vihaan sighed," look abhay, you are wrong this time. I get it, you are doing this for pari and blah blah blah. I wont go there. But abhay she is a girl. How could you do that. Abhay I am warning you this time. Clear her name or else'"
"or else what? What will you do? Listen vihaan. I am not in mood. So just leave it. I am tired. I had a very rough day today", abhay fake yawned and walked away.

Abhay was sitting in his room with a picture of Pari," I am so sorry angel, I know I am an awful brother. I am starting to feel for Piya, the one who took you away from me. I am being so unfair to you. I cant let Piya make a place in my heart. Whatever it is that I feel for her, I'll try my best to fight it off". Abhay sighed and kept the picture back. He looked around and suddenly he found himself in some other room. Soon he realized that it was their old house, it was pari's room. He saw pari was sitting in the room painting pots when he saw few hooded people approaching her.
Abhay called pari, tried to warn her but realized that it was just a illusion of past. He couldn't go there, couldn't reach her.
Pari saw them and looked at them in confusion," who are you? what do you want?"
One of them laughed," you really naive for a vampire. We are gangrel, most powerful of all supernaturals. We are the rulers of the world and you don't recognize us. That was really an insult"
Pari didn't know what to do. She had heard of gangrel but saw them for the first time, why are you here?"
"To kill you", one of them laughed and threw a potion on her.
Pari screamed in pain. She was withering in pain. She was lying on floor helpless. Abhay was stunned with what he saw. He screamed but he knew he cant do anything. It had already happened.
Pari was still burning in pain. He was almost in a state of paralysis.
"what are you doing? Why do you want to kill me", pari managed to ask.
The head of the group again laughed," since you are going to die. Lets fulfill your wish. Consider this as your last wish. We want to kill you because we have orders. Our master has ordered us. And as a bonus, I will tell you the reason also. Its only for our survival. We were invincible until your brother abhay and your friend piya came into existence. Yes, they are threat to our existence. For our survival, it is important that they never unite. And by killing you, we will take our first step. And next step will be killing piya's parents"
Pari was horrified listening to it and abhay froze. Piya and Pari were friends? What did they mean that he and piya should never unite. He saw that pari was almost out of the paralytic stroke. She managed to buy time by making them talk. She waited till they were least attentive to her and then she made her escape. She rushed to the window and jumped out.
"I have to warn piya before its too late", mumbled pari running.
Abhay found himself in the forest and saw pari running for her life. She turned back to see if they were following her and then one of the hooded people appeared in front of her and stabbed her in her stomach. Pari screamed and fell on the ground. She removed the log of wood from her stomach and stabbed the stake straight into his heart. By now, Pari was too weak to move. She tried to stand up but her legs were not supporting her. She closed her eyes and called out Piya's name. Abhay was unable to fathom how Pari knew Piya. And then Piya appeared suddenly out of thin air. Once she heard Pari call out to her, she used an apparition spell to reach her. Piya saw Pari on the ground withering in pain.
"pari? pari..what happened to you.", piya panicked
"piya listen'."
"stop talking, wait. Let me heal you", said piya
Piya used her spells. She tried to heal her but to no avail. She panicked. She was a newly born witch. Her powers had activated recently. She didn't knew how to use her powers properly.
"pari wait. Let me call tara. She will help", piya tried to connect her but she couldn't reach Tara.
"wait her I will be right back"
"No, wait please don't leave me here"
Piya left before Pari could stop her. Pari metally prayed for Piya to comeback soon but all the odds were stacked against her. The Gangrel reached her first. The hooded figures surrounded her. One of them stepped forward. He had a stake in his hand. Abhay's eyes filled with anger. He shouted to them,' Don't you dare hurt her. You stay away from her. I'll kill you..'. The memory remained unaltered and the hooded figure kneeled down beside Pari and raised the stake above his head. Pari's heart beat quickened. She pleaded with him,' Please don't''. The stake pierced through her heart. Her chest exploded in pain and she could slowly feel her senses numbing. The Gangrel had left her by now. Just then, Piya came running with a big fat book in her hand. She saw Pari's chest stabbed with a wooden stake and the book slipped from her hand.
"pari, who did this? pari?", piya yelled.
She picked up the book and turned the pages trying to look for something to help Pari. She started using spells. She tried to heal her heart but nothing happened. Piya started crying.
Pari tried to say something," pi'ya'.you..r'"
"pari my what?"
"yo..ur'p'p.."
Pari couldn't complete what she wanted to say. She was dead. Abhay felt his heart clench up in pain.
"PARI!!!!!!!!", Piya yelled
"pari, get up. Pari'.", Piya sat beside Pari holding her hand. Tears kept falling from her eyes. A few minutes passed. Piya wiped her tears away and caught hold of the wooden log. Abhay saw a movement out of the corner of his eyes. He turned to see himself running towards Pari. It was him in the memory. The Abhay in the memory saw piya taking out the wood from Pari's heart and then disappearing using an apparition spell. It appeared to him that piya killed pari.
The illusion faded and abhay found himself in his room. He was horrified with what he saw. A tear rolled down his cheek. He saw pari dying, withering in pain. She was killed by the gangrel. Piya was never at fault. She was innocent.

Abhay relived that the pain of that day all over again but this time there was regret also. Abhay leaned down in front of Pari's lifeless body; her face contorted in pain. He reached out to touch her but her body suddenly disappeared. He moved back confused. He looked around to see he is back in his room again and he was still clutching Pari's photo.
"I saw Pari...She was thereā¦They killed her right in front of my eyes and I couldn't help her"
He remembered Pari's face; the fear in her eyes just before dying and tears filled his eyes. There was a time when Pari was his whole life, she was the only person he had to call family and then she was ripped away from him and all this time he had been blaming Piya. But what he saw back there refuted all that he had believed till now.
He pleaded with all his heart," Pari, if you are still here, please come back. I need to talk to you. Please angel"
A soft voice spoke from behind him,"Bhai, I am here'"
Abhay turned around to see Pari standing in front of him. His eyes softened. 'Pari, I must be dreaming. Is it really youā¦How are you here?'.
Pari smiled at him and spoke, "It's me Bhai. I have been trying to reach out to you for many years but my soul was trapped on the other side. For years I tried to find a way to escape but it was next to impossible to escape the reaper. But then my soul was summoned by someone from this world."
Abhay was surprised to hear all this. There were a million questions in his mind. "Pari, what I saw back thereā¦Was it true? Is Piya innocent?"
Pari replied, "Yes bhai, Piya didn't kill me. She was trying to save me. Those vampires were the ones who killed me and they also killed Piya's parents. They wanted to fuel hatred between you and Piya".
Abhay's eyes widened. He finally came to understand the reality behind Pari's death but what he still didn't know was why those vampires wanted to make him hate Piya.
'Pari, what did those vampires want? Why did they want me to hate Piya? And who summoned your soul?".
Pari was about to answer when her face grew alert. "Bhai, I don't have much time. They are coming to take me back. I cannot stay here for long".
Abhay's momentary happiness of seeing Pari lifted. He pleaded to her," No no, please Pari, don't go. Don't leave me again. Please angel, stay for me".
Pari's eyes filled with tears,"I have to go. They are almost here".
Pari noted the guilt in Abhay's face. "Bhai, its not your fault. My death was inevitable. I am sorry I cant give you all the answers you need. But once you find the caveā¦"
Pari's face froze and then her soul disappeared. Abhay screamed in pain,"Pari! Please come back". But nothing happened. Everything stayed still and there was no sound in the room apart from Abhay's sobs. It was too much for Abhay to absorb. He ran from the room.

Aryan was pacing in his room impatiently. He was deep in thought, "What's taking Jeh so long? He should have finished the work by now"
Jeh came rushing in a few mintues later. 'What took you so long. Were you able to do the work?', enquired Aryan.
Jeh smiled triumphantly,' Summoning spells are tricky but I was able to find Pari Raichand. She has told Abhay the truth. Now there will be no more obstacles for us. Abhay and Piya will be together very soon. Good for them, huh'.
Aryan frowned at his brother,'Who cares about them. I just want them to find the cave soon. Once we have what we need, I'll get rid of them'.
'Aryan, I really don't think that's necessary. Once we get to the cave, cant we just leave them alone. Why do we need to foster this unnecessary enemity'.
Aryan looked at Jeh with contempt. 'Why do you care so much about Abhay and Piya? If staying among humans is turning you into a friendly pup, I suggest you stay at home only. I wont have my brother running around being friends with vampires and witches and bringing shame to our family'.
Jeh knew how difficult his brother could get so he didn't push it further. But he had to come up with a plan soon.
...
Ouside the Raichand mansion, Tara and Vihaan were in the garden talking. Tara was furious,' Your brother is crossing the line Vihaan and I wont have it. Piya was finally starting to get over mom and dad's death and now everything came crashing back'.
Vihaan helplessly nodded his head. 'Tara look I am sorry for everything Abhay did. But come on, when we both decided to keep Abhay and Piya away and let them hate each other, we both knew something like this would happen eventually. This collateral damage was inevitable'.
Tara wasn't convinced. 'Vihaan, lets get one thing straight. If Abhay tries to hurt Piya again, I will take him out. So you better keep him in line'.
Vihaan was sure that no matter how much he tried, Abhay wont listen to him. There was only one thing to do to keep him from trying to hurt Piya. He wasn't sure how Tara would take this. 'Tara, I think its about time we should.."
Vihaan's voice trailed off and he saw Abhay standing a few feet away. From the look on Abhay's face he could guess that he had heard everything. Abhay never felt so betrayed before. Vihaan knew the truth all along and he kept him in the dark all these years.
He looked at Vihaan with contempt,' You knew about this. Both of you. How could you not tell me Vihaan. You let me hate Piya and you stood and watched me hurt her when she was at no fault. You let me do that and you never thought of telling me the truth. I cannot explain to you how awful I feel right now'. Vihaan looked apologetic. Tara tried to explain but Abhay stopped her. 'Oh please, you are no better. You were telling me what an awful person I am when the truth is you are an awful sister. Even you didn't try to clear the misunderstandings between Piya and me. You are responsible for all the pain Piya is going through right now. If you really love your sister so much then would you care to tell me why you let me hate Piya?'.
Tara realized Abhay was right. It was her fault that Piya is suffering right now. She let this happen and she couldn't blame Abhay anymore. 'Abhay, I know what Vihaan and I did was not fair to you and Piya but I did it to protect Piya. If we hadn't done this then you and Piya would have eventually come together and then the gangrel would have come after you to kill you both. I was just trying to salvage was I had. I cant stand to lose Piya. Don't you see, the only reason they didn't come after Piya and you was because you both hate each other. As long as you and Piya stay separated, you are safe'.
Abhay could see the sense behind Vihaan and Tara's actions. He knew what he had to do now. He turned to Tara,'I understand. Can I please see Piya once?'.
Tara nodded reluctantly. Abhay left them to talk and went straight to Piya's house.

Piya was still lying unconscious on the bed. Using her powers to the hilt had taken a lot out of her. Abhay sat beside her on the bed holding her hand in his. His heart was filled with guilt for hurting her so much. But one thing he was happy about. He wouldn't have to fight his feelings for her anymore. He could now accept Piya into his heart, where she belonged. He looked at her lovingly as he slowly moved the curls hiding her face and stroked her cheek. Tara came and stood by the door. She then asked him apprehensively,'Will you tell her everything?'
Abhay smiled sadly,'Don't worry Tara, I will not try to make a place in her heart. If my staying close to her means endangering her life then I will happily suffer being alone'.
'I appreciate what you are doing for Piya. I am really sorry for the outburst earlier. I just cant see Piya getting hurt'.
'Its okay Tara. No hard feelings. Well considering that this is kind of the only nice moment I'll ever have with Piya before she starts hating me again, can I please have a moment alone with her'.
'Ya sure course Abhay'. Tara then left the room.
Abhay leaned towards Piya and kissed her forehead. His eyes filled with tears as he remembered every moment he had hurt Piya. It hurt him even more to think that he'll have to let Piya hate him like before. But he took this pain as his penance and silently promised to Piya,'From now on, I vow to protect you. I wont let the Gangrel get anywhere near you. They wont touch you as long as I am alive. And don't worry, I'll avenge your parents' death. I'll hunt down each and every member of the Gangrel and put a stake through their hearts. I wont let you find out the truth ever. Your every breath is too precious for me now'.
He planted small kisses all over her face and took a long look at her one last time and then left.
