Ahh and we are back with a bang, yess!! First let me say this, NBT I have missed you soo sooo sooo much and even though the episode was full of tears-fest but still we are in a celebratory mood as we finally got our old NBT back.
Ok so Mohan is walking, rather floating across Juna Mohalla towards the tryst finalized in the earlier episode. Meeting on some roof located at the back, BTW, what kind of a roof is that? Is it a community roof of their Mohalla because during kite flying too, Mohan flew his kite from that very roof. I didn't know community roofs exist in mohallas 😲
Anyways it was absolutely enchanting to see Mohan, simply radiating happiness, full of all the zest and bliss of love, smiling from ear to ear, literally bouncing along the street, not knowing where to put his own hands, making it apparent that he had lots of butterflies fluttering round in his stomach. I loved the way he came to a standstill on seeing Megha's back and then slowly saunter across with that killer enamoured look in his eyes.
Coming to Megha, oh my God, right from that moment when Mohan is walking towards her from behind, she looked so much in silent trepidation, already dreading the task she had come to accomplish. Little did she know that it was only going to get tougher for her from there on and it did, right when Mohan said
"Mainey kabhi socha bhi nahi tha ke iss chotey se mohalley mein, duniya bhar ki khushiyan ek din simat jaaein gi"
Aww those words, said with that tender look in his eyes, so tangibly shook up Megha, the way her eyes widened for a nano second and then it was gone.
Here let me give an honest opinion. We all had been so dreading having to watch the MS and the whole proposal scene, given that the dialogues haven't been upto par off late but this whole scene, holding so much significance for both protagonists, was handled in such a way, be it the dialogues (which had Sonal's touch stamped on them), the picturisation, the direction or the acting. There was the same subtlety, the delicacy which used to NBT's forte and that is what made me fall in love with MM plus NBT all over again.
Coming back to the scene, little did Megha know that what's coming up would make it all the more difficult for her to stick to her resolution. Out came the Mangalsutra, the binding that seals two people's love for life. Was it only me or did everyone see Megha's slight trembling all over t the mere sight of mangalsutra? It was just a slightest quiver and then she went still, like she inhaled and forgot to exhale altogether, choked with emotions, tears that threatened to leak from her eyes, affirming the fact that even though the mangalsutra, meaning her happiness, was right within her reach, yet she was helpless in that moment, tied down by the norms of society and by Indu's disapproval of her. She kept on looking at Mohan, in silent agony and shock, in the realization that her resolve of shattering Mohan's dreams was weakening with each passing second (it just made me cry so much). SO she turned in order to brace herself for the barrage of questions and that's what came. To keep her resolve strong, Megha really had to rally herself on and that's what she did, nearly shouting out her frustration and misery, trying to convince him that it is only Amar's letter that made her take the remarriage decision, finally ending it with
"Tumse kis ne kaha ke mai tum se shaadi karoon gi, mainey yeh kaha tha ke merey parivaar waley jisko bhi chuney ge mai uss se shaadi karoon gi"
It was such a rude shock for Mohan, evident from the way he went all still, like the dead, in shock that it had all been nothing but a mere Misunderstanding that had thrown him head over heels in his dream for a future that hadn't even existed anywhere except in his own thoughts.
My heart cried for Megha as she turned to go and stand at the other end, with her back to Mohan, silently crying and wiping her melancholy. Mohan's coming out of shock and asking the big question was what Megha had been apprehending. I was bowled over by Akanksha's depiction of the same, how beautifully she portrayed the war between Megha's emotions, her heart pulling her down and her mind trying to reinforce some strength to face the inevitable there, hats off to AS for that.
One more thing that came out crystal clear from this scene was that how well Megha actually knows Mohan. She knows exactly what will make him back off. She knew that the truth(about Indu), however critical and concerning it might be to her, will not be reason enough for Mohan to back off. Megha has always known that it's her emotions, her feelings, her happiness, and her will that rules Mohan's mind and heart nowadays so she came up with the best excuses that she could come up with, in this tormenting situation. The despair and desolation was heart wrenching to see when she said
"Mai tumharey saath apni zindagi basar nahi kar sakti"
And immediately dropped her eyes, because of course the heart can hide what one can't say but the eyes always say what one is trying to hide. Awesome moment and awesomely depicted, again AS all the way.
That Moment was truly a torment because both Mohan and Megha went through a heartbreak in that very second. It was as quite as a feather falling and the most painful thing to see was they Mohan couldn't see or feel Megha's heart break in that second. Whereas Megha had to go through the agony of losing both of their happiness and watching it getting killed in that moment.
It all but choked her, because just after that she had to listen and bear all of Mohan's bitter angst, which struck so close to truth that it all but left her gutted. To be put down by the one you love, inspite of knowing that it's all for his own good, is not easy and that's what Mohan not once, but on multiple occasions, went through and had to cope with it all in silence, specially that night when Prateek and DN tried discrediting him and managed to dupe Megha too eventually. Aww I feel so sad for both of them, it's like they are two opposite shores, which can walk in parallel but never meet.
Then Mohan turned and left, leaving Megha all alone and desolate.
"No love can hurt as much as the love that can never be and no thought can hurt as much as the thought of a love that could have been"
Oh how ravaged did Megha look, the way she started crying, it left me feeling so torn apart from inside. The way her tears came out in abundance, she just let go of herself completely in that moment, all drained out as she was after such a vehement confrontation.
The way she dropped down, sitting on the floor heavily, right there, gave such a convincing depiction of a person who had just got plundered of all things precious to her. With Mohan's exit, she knew that all her happiness had just been robbed from her. All the pleasure and bliss that had been in her reach, had just gone out.
"Pyar ko paaney ke liye himmat chahiye, tou paa ke khoney ke liye uss se ziada himmat chahiye"
True that Megha! Can't say anything more, those words say it all. The anguish, the suffering, the torture that she's going through now and would be facing now in the coming episodes.
Coming to the MG scene, I found Guru's excitement about the presumed upcoming nuptials of his Bhaiya with Megha Didi, hehe loved the way he was humming "mujhse shaadi karogi" while dusting lol, and the way he announces and shows off his good work benefitting Megha didi :)
"Mujhey Megha ko bhulana ho ga"
Dearest Mohan, easier said than done yaar. Believe this, the heart is a place where we live our passions. It is frail and easily broken, but wonderfully resilient. There is no point in trying to deceive the heart. It depends upon our honesty for its survival. So I am darned sure of the fact, just like Guru says
"Bhula ke dikhao bhaiya, main naam badal doon ga, apna aur tumhara bhi"
Yes Mohan, you won't be able to forget 😉
Now the wind blowing in, now that's what we had been missing and see! That's how we say that old NBT is back because here we can witness the return of subtle symbolism, which can be interpreted in many different ways and leaves us intellectually stimulated.
I felt intrigued by the symbolism of the wind, because the way it was blowing strongly made it look like a stormy one. Stormy winds are usually indicative of some threat, some barriers and hurdles. So that would mean that it was shown to confirm the fact that there are still infinite violent emotional turmoil in store for both MM.
Then another way is strong stormy winds also symbolise strong passion and will to do something. Since Mohan was sitting right there and the wind blew in his face, so maybe it was to show that he'll now be determinedly sticking to what he has promised himself, of reverting to his own self and forgetting Megha and his love for good. And we all know how strongly resolute Mohan is when he decides on doing something.
Then their is a third way too, in which I interpret it. Maybe it's thinking a bit too much but the way that strong wind blew in Mohan's face, if you see the scene, his side profile is shown, and he inhaled it in, like a deep breath, and it ruffled his hair as well. That made me think, that here was a dejected Mohan, broken-hearted and bitter, having lost all hope, with self-resolution and self-belief that he is going to forget everything. So he's like a dead barren isolated mass, devoid of life, and then the air blows in, symbolising that their will be revival of all that is good, tht all isn't lost as yet, there's still chance of his happiness and bliss returning to him, thus returning his life back to him.
Anyways, sorry it got too long, my sympathies with everyone who tries to read it whole..plz do tell about your take on the wind lol.
