Hi guys, I don't know what would have happened if Arnav did kiss Khushi in the show on the night of Diwali.. I did consider making Arnav realize his love for Khushi after the kiss.. and then break up with Lavanya.. but that's not the Arnav we know.. at least he would have been in denial during Diwali even if the kiss had happened.. he would still have accused her of being a golddigger. Please do continue reading. Anjali is a much more real character in this... and Arnav becomes nicer soon.. because he is worried about Khushi with Raj.. and you will see soon that its not just jealousy!
Part 2 : Why can't I stop thinking about you?
Khushi sat on her bed, her arms around her knees, her thighs pressed against her chest, her eyes red from crying. She was still wearing the red sari; she listened to the sound of fireworks outside. Everyone was enjoying the festival of Diwali outside, while her heart was brimming with pain. She touched her lips; tears rolled down her cheeks. Why? why did he kiss me? How could he accuse me of seducing him and worse, accuse of me seducing other guys! She had a sudden urge to cry her heart out, but she controlled herself. No, no more tears. Why am I crying? Why does his opinion matter so much to you? Why does his words affect you so much? Why do you expect him to behave differently, Khushi? Why? He doesn't love you, Khushi. Stop crying. He doesn't love you. But Raj, he loves you. He wants to marry you. Why are you thinking about Arnav? When he.. when he doesn't love you. All he does is insult you and hurt you and give you more pain every time. But.. what about all those times... she remembered how he had taken care of her when she fell sick at the dhaba, how he had touched her head when she was crying at the hospital, how he had paid Shashi's hospital fees and how he had helped free her, when she had gotten tangled in the lights. Her heart was beating fast; she could still feel his fingers on her skin. She remembered the kiss earlier tonight; she could taste his lips on hers. She remembered how he had torn his shirt off and pulled her towards his chest. She could still smell his cologne. Her fingers had the faint smell of his hair gel; she had grabbed his hair when he had kissed her. She could still hear his heart beating fast; she could still feel his breath on her. His stubble against her cheek, his smell, his touch, his breath; she was going crazy. She put her hands over her ears; stop it, Khushi. Stop thinking about him! This has to stop. She shook her head and grabbed her hair in anguish; how do I stop thinking about him?
Khushi looked at her desk, at the red roses in the vase. She remembered the first time she met Raj. She had run back to Shashi's hospital room after hugging Arnav. When she reached the room, a guy in a white coat was talking to her family. Shashi smiled as she walked in. "Raj beta, this is my daughter, Khushi. Look at her, crazy girl, she has not stopped crying ever since she heard that I was in the hospital." The guy, tall, well-built with wavy hair, had turned to look at her and smiled, showing off his deep dimples. "Your father is fine, Khushi. No need to worry. It was just a minor stroke. Just take care that he stays happy; don't give him too much stress. Make sure he takes his medicines on time and that he eats healthy food." She had smiled at him and walked to her mother and Buaji, without saying anything to Raj. The next day the Gupta family had brought Shashi back to Buaji's house. When Khushi had gone to give medicines to her father, he and Garima were discussing something seriously and they had looked up smiling when she walked in. They had sat her down and explained to her how Raj's parents had called them and asked for Khushi's hand in marriage. Khushi had been shocked, since she hadn't even thought about marriage. She had said no immediately. Why did I say no? Khushi wondered. Arnavji! She had wanted to give their relationship a chance; she wanted to wait till she could figure out what she felt towards him, why she couldn't stop thinking about him, why she had wanted his shoulder to cry on when she was completely heartbroken and worried about her father. She wiped her tears; enough, Khushi. You have to stop thinking about Arnav. After what he said to you earlier today, how could you even think that he cares about you? He hates you Khushi; he hates you. She got up and walked to her desk. She touched the statue of Devi Maiyya and prayed, "Please Devi Maiyya, please help me forget him." She stood up and walked to the bathroom to change for bed.
A body was lying on the stretcher, covered in a white sheet. He extended his hand and lifted the white sheet off the body. It was a female, her face swollen and covered with bruises. Arnav screamed, "Khushi", as he woke up and sat up straight on his bed. He was sweating profusely.
The Guptas were having breakfast when Khushi walked into the dining room, her face serious. Shashi and Garima looked up, worried. "Khushi bitiya, are you alright?" Shashi asked. She walked to him, took his hand and said, "Babuji, I am ready. I will get married. I will get married to a guy you choose." Shashi smiled, stood up and hugged her. He pulled away, touched her face with his hand and asked, "Bitiya, are you sure? I don't want to put any pressure on you. Have you thought about it well?" Khushi nodded, controlling her tears. "Of course she has." Garima said, with a smile on her face. "I will go call Gayatriji." Gayatri Singhania was Raj's mother. A tear escaped Khushi's eye and Shashi saw it. He grabbed Khushi's shoulders, "Bitiya, why are you crying? Are you sure you want to get married?" She hugged her father and started crying, "I don't want to leave you, Amma and Buaji". Shashi touched Khushi's hair and smiled, "Don't cry, bitiya. You have to leave one day, but I am glad you chose Raj. He is a good kid; he will take good care of you." Khushi stopped crying and remembered Arnav; how she had fallen into his arms at the fashion show, how he had saved her from the car in the rain, how he had fed her water at Teej, how he had taken care of her at the dabba, how she had run into his arms at the hospital, how she had fallen into his arms on the rangoli and how he had helped free her from the lights before Diwali.
Nani, Anjali and Lavanya looked up as Arnav walked into the living room. Arnav looked around; it was almost noon. Where is Khushi? Arnav turned to Anjali and asked, "Di, where is Khushi? Why is she not here yet? There is so much work to do in this house. Didn't she say she will help with the marriage preparations?" Anjali looked at Arnav, her face filled with an emotion he could not understand; pain, anger or was it confusion? She said, "Chotte, Khushi accepted Raj's marriage proposal, so the Singhanias are going to her house today to see her and to talk about the marriage." Arnav froze; did he hear it right? Khushi accepted Raj's proposal? Anjali continued, "She said she will come later today." Arnav was furious; he screamed, "How dare she do that? Is that why I pay her? So that she can take leave whenever she wants to?" Lavanya stood up, smiled and put her hand on Arnav's arm. "ASR, relax. You won't understand, but I do. She is getting married; she must be so excited. Come on, ASR. Cut her some slack!" Arnav stared angrily at Lavanya, turned around and walked away. Lavanya was confused, "What is up with ASR today?" She sat down next to Anjali. Anjali was worried; what is Chotte doing? Why can't he accept that he loves Khushi? She looked at Lavanya, who was looking at a bridal magazine and showing Nani a lehenga that she liked. Anjali's eyes teared up, poor Lavanyaji, I hope she doesn't get hurt. She looked at Arnav walking up the stairs, Chotte, I hope you make your decision fast!
Khushi was looking out her bedroom window, when she felt someone in the room. She turned around to see Raj. "Thank you, Khushi", he said, smiling. She looked confused. "Thank you for saving the roses I gave you," he pointed at the vase, "and for accepting my marriage proposal. You have no idea how happy I am". He walked towards her and she pressed herself against the wall and looked away. He stopped and smiled, "Khushi, don't worry. I won't hurt you." He bent down, took her hand and kissed it. He took her hand in his and said, "Khushi, say something." She looked at him and looked at her hand. She felt uncomfortable; something felt wrong. She felt violated when he touched her, when he kissed her; as though she belonged to someone else, as though only he could kiss her. She closed her eyes, no Khushi, you don't belong to him. Stop thinking about him! Khushi pulled her hand out of Raj's hands, turned to look out the window. "What do you want me to say, Rajkumarji?" she asked, softly. "Khushi, don't be shy. You can say anything you want. I am going to marry you, right. I want us to get to know each other before that. I want you to be comfortable with me before we get married." Khushi's heart was beating fast. Comfortable; she remembered how she ran into Arnav's arms at the hospital, she remembered how she fell into his arms on the rangoli, she remembered how she had crashed into him at the top of the stairs in Shantivan; she felt comfortable in his arms. She remembered how he had pulled her to his chest last night; she started breathing rapidly. But her thoughts were interrupted by Raj. "Khushi, but first, you have to stop calling me Rajkumarji. I would love to be your Rajkumar, your prince charming, but the "ji" at the end is making me sound old. Just call me Raj from now on." Raj walked closer to Khushi; Khushi could feel him come closer. She closed her eyes, scared of what he was going to do. She didn't want him to touch her, please Devi Maiyya, please no. Suddenly they heard Buaji's voice, "Arre titliya, Raj bitwa, come outside. Tea is ready". Khushi turned around, looked at Raj and ran out into the living room, leaving a slightly annoyed Raj behind.

I know you guys must be confused now. I haven't mentioned Payal at all. I figured Payal and Akash are not even needed in this story. So just assume that somehow Khushi ended up in the fashion show that night in Sheesh Mahal and now Khushi is the only daughter of Shashi and Garima. Also Shashi had a minor stroke only and was admitted to the hospital. The rest of the story is the same. Khushi did work at ASR's office and quit when she almost died at the guest house. She was then was hired by Anjali to help train Lavanya.
