Part 7

"Arnav tell me if there is something going on between you two."

"Di it's not what it looks like, she's JUST my employee there is nothing more to it."

Kushi stood listening to Arnav speak to his sister, she heard him say the words but couldn't believe that all they had didn't mean anything to him. She stood there with tears in her eyes coming from a cry deep within her heart. Had she imagined all they had shared, did he really not care? Had she been making a fool out of herself thinking of all that they could be? She turned around taking determineded steps towards her room, when she had taken a few steps she trembled breaking a vase causing Arnav to turn his attention towards her.

"Kushi?" Arnav spoke out in a small voice filled with what sounded like fear and sadness. But she didn't turn back she wiped her tears and kept on walking not knowing where her destination lays. Kushi rushed up the stairs to her room. She wasn't sure of what to do, she thought they had something going on, that she actually meant something to him, but turns out he was only toying with her. He cheated her, did he even care? Did he even think of her?

She wasn't sure of what to do now. It was late in the evening and there wouldn't be any taxies to take her to the airport. Not to mention that her parents would be arriving in a couple of days. Where would she go now? Where is the nearest hotel? Could she just leave her responsibilities and go? It wasn't like her to let her personal life get in the way of her professional life.

She stood there looking around the room. It's funny how she had stayed here for so long without paying attention to the picture hanging on the wall beside the large windows. Now through her tearful eyes she saw a sweet lady smiling at her. She had the warmest smile Kushi had ever seen and her eyes shone with immense love and care. She looked like someone you'd want to have in your life. Kushi stood there staring at the picture until she felt tears flowing from her eyes. She blink a couple of time awakening from her daze again being drowned in a pool of emotions, not sure of what to do.

"Kushi just get your bags and go!" She ordered herself. Fully aware of the fact that all she wanted to do was run back to him. But no one and that means NO ONE was going to make her cry ever again. She had promised herself that. After her parents died she had cried a lot. She had cried when she missed her mom, when she was mistreated, when people made fun of her for being an orphan. Then one day she had woken up not willing to shed another tear. She told herself that she had cried enough to last her a life time. She didn't cry when buaji told her that she wasn't amma and babuji's real daughter, she hadn't cried when amma doubted her love for her and she sure as hell wasn't going to cry now.

She packed her bags looked around the room one last time, secretly hoping that Arnav would come and stop her from leaving, hoping for him to come and tell her that it was all a joke and he didn't mean to hide what they were doing.

As she looked around her eyed fell on the bed and on it there was a package. She moved closer and saw what was written on it. " To ASR, Love LAVANYA" Kushi read the package and felt more betrayed he was toying with her. She didn't mean anything to him, anything at all. She put the package down and walked with firm steps down the stairs and out the door leaving the lavished house behind her.

Leaving the known.

Embracing the unknown.

Leaving what wished for.

Walking to what she got granted.

She wasn't sure where she was going but she knew that she couldn't run from the situation and she sure as hell couldn't let her personal life interfere with her professional life.

Arnav wasn't sure what he was going to do. He had hurt her badly and for some reason he was hurting as bad as her. He didn't believe in love or soul mates but somehow for her he wanted to believe. He wanted to believe in the concept of love for her sake, for the sake of what they shared the past few months. He wanted to stop her, wanted to tell her not to leave him but his feet wouldn't move. It was like he was forced to watch her walk away from him. With his sister here he couldn't risk damaging their relationship more.
