Chapter 19

While Khushi had gone up Payal and Akash went to the kitchen. Akash and Payal both placed the items on the counter. He showed Payal the way into the kitchen. She looked around and saw the place was really nice and she could see why Khushi liked working there. She went towards the bag and started unpacking everything. Akash went beside her and stopped her by placing his hand on hers. Payal saw his hand on hers and stated blushing.

Payal: Akash what are you doing?

Akash: Well Payal at this moment there is no one here but you and me.

Payal just blushed out of embarrassment. Akash moved closer to her. He put his hands on her shoulder and turned her around to face him while Payal's eyes avoided his gaze. He lifted her chin but her eyes were still gazing at the floor. She was still blushing and due to this she ended up hugging him. Akash just hugged her back. Both Arnav and Khushi walked in the canteen at that moment. Arnav looked at his brother and thought well well well at least Akash is getting bolder and he smirked at the thought. Khushi looked at where he was gazing and saw her jiji and jijaji hugging. She also smiled and realised that her and Arnav were still holding hands. She tried to come out of his grip but he just gripped her hand harder indicating you are not getting away that easily.

Arnav looking at Khushi whispering: What is Payal doing here?

Khushi also being quite: She wanted to see what AR looked like she hasn't been here before.

Arnav turned and looked at his brother and sister-in-law.

Arnav: So Akash don't you want to show Payal around?

Akash and Payal immediately came apart both blushing and embarrassed furiously. Neither looked at each other nor and Arnav or Khushi. Arnav just smirked. Khushi was trying not to laugh.

Arnav: Well I'm hungry. Khushi what's for breakfast?

Khushi left Arnav's side when he let go of her hand and went towards the counter while Akash came out and sat on the seats. Arnav went and sat beside him. Both Khushi and Payal sifted through the bags and started serving their respective husbands. While serving both couples where lost in each other thinking and feeling loved. While Akash and Payal had already told each other how they felt many a time Arnav and Khushi had yet to confess their feelings to each other. All four snapped out of their eye-locks when Arnav's phone started ringing. Arnav picks his phone up.

Arnav slightly pissed off: WHAT?

Aman: Sir you told me call you when your meeting with your management team was fixed.

Arnav: Ok I'm coming.

He said that and put his phone down. He finished his breakfast.

Arnav: Akash before Payal gets busy helping Khushi show her around and Payal please can you make sure Khushi eats her breakfast. She has a habit of forgetting to eat when she is stressed.

Saying that he left for his office before he headed for the conference room. Khushi just looked in shock then realising what he just said in front of her jiji and jijaji she blushed. Before headed out with Akash both Khushi and Payal had breakfast. Khushi got busy after that and Payal went with Akash. The employees of AR have arrived by now.

Akash first took Payal around and introduced her to the employees. Payal was very courteous to everyone and all the employees were surprised that her and Khushi were sisters as they both were very different. Khushi being very talkative and very friendly while Payal being very sweet and reserved. All the people that she was introduced to thought that both brothers had married well. Akash and Payal's nature suited each other while Arnav and Khushi well that's another story. Once she was introduced he showed her around the departments before they headed to his office. She walked in with him and he closed the door. Unlike Arnav's office Akash had windows overlooking Delhi streets. It was a big office but not as big as Arnav's. She looked around. Akash had a desk in the middle with the windows behind his chair. Some files on his desk with stationary and a few photo frames. His own laptop open on the desk. There were some shelves opposite his desk with more files on them. She turned around to look at him.

Payal: Nice office.

Akash: So you approve of it.

Payal: Why wouldn't I approve of your office?

Akash: Well I thought you might give me some suggestions to improve the place. I would think being my wife you would like something in here to remind me of you.

Payal just looked away with a smile on her face and her blushing really hard. Akash came closer to her, placed his fingers on her chin and turned her head so she was facing him.

Akash: I love you Payal.

Payal: I love you to Akash.

Saying that she hugged him and he hugged her back. They pulled apart when they heard a knock on the door.

Akash: Come in.

The employee came in and Payal left heading for the canteen to help Khushi. Once the employee had gone from his office Akash sat back down on his chair to get back to work. He thought about what had just happened and smiled. Then glanced over at one photo sitting on his desk the one taken during his wedding. He then went back work happy in his own thoughts.

Khushi was in her own thoughts wondering what was happening. She had been mulling over what was going on. Her mind filling up with questions and her heart starting to beat harder than ever before. Sometimes she blushed at what had happened but sometimes she was confused at what was happening.

Arnav had been in his meeting for over two hours. He was listening to his management team go over plans about the upcoming fashion show which was scheduled for in two months' time. There was a lot to be done. Arnav knew he would be backed up in meetings and work for quite some time but he had no other choice. AR's spring summer collection was almost done and it was time for the collection to be displayed. His thoughts though were on one woman and one woman only. At least he was good at multitasking. He is not Arnav Singh Raizada for no reason. Once the meeting was over he headed back to the office waiting for lunch time. At 1 o'clock Khushi and Payal had already prepared a lot of food. Mohan had already got there earlier than usual. Both Khushi and Payal wanted to stay to be with their husbands for lunch but they knew they needed to go home as no one else was home to serve and do the house work. So they both decided to go speak to Arnav and Akash. Khushi went to Arnav's office with his lunch and medicine nervously while Payal headed to Akash's office.

Payal knocked on Akash's door.

Akash: Come in.

Payal entered with his lunch. Akash looked up and smiled.

Payal: Mohan is here so I can't stay. Khushi and I need to get home as nobody else is home to do all the housework. We can't leave Di to do everything not in her condition.

Akash: That's ok. You go home and we will talk later.

Saying this Payal left his lunch on his desk and left from there.

Khushi knocked on Arnav's door.

Arnav: Come in.

Khushi came in with his lunch and medicine.

Khushi: Arnavji Mohan is here already and I need to go home.

Arnav was slightly disappointed and angry. What was Mohan doing here so early? He thought.

Arnav through gritted teeth: Why?

Khushi more nervous than before: Well jiji and I have also made lunch for home and we have take it back with us. We had already made breakfast before we go here but there is no one else at home to help Di out today. Si jiji and I need to go home early.

Arnav was touched by this but upset that they were not having lunch together. Then an idea struck. He got up walked over to Khushi while she backing up.

Arnav: Why do always go backwards?

Khushi: Because you always move forward.

Arnav: I'm not going to bite you know.

Khushi: You never know with you.

Arnav got very close to her while Khushi almost backed into his shelves. Arnav moved his hand quickly to the back of head so she wouldn't hit her head.

Arnav: Haven't I told you to watch what you doing?

Khushi just looked at him and nodded.

Arnav: Then why don't you listen.

Khushi was still just staring at him. She looked up at his hand then back at him. They both looked at one another for a while.

Arnav: Khushi my lunch.

Khushi snapped out of her trance. She looked down at her hands and handed him his lunch and medicine. Arnav took his lunch out of her hands and turned to put it on his desk. He turned around to face her and what he saw surprised him. Khushi had her eyes closed and her hand clutched near over her heart. Arnav looked at her and smirked knowing full well his closeness having this effect on her. He quickly moved towards her while her eyes were still closed. With his fingers on his left hand he moved the lock of hair which was always on her face. Khushi's eyes opened at this sudden gesture. He moved his hand and cupped her right check while his thumb caressed her check. He then placed his right hand on her left cheek. Khushi was getting apprehensive. She looked at him into his eyes. She could see something in his eyes the same something she saw around in his eyes around Diwali. He moved his face closer and closer until their lips were just a few inches apart. Both still gazing into each other's eyes. Khushi had gripped her kameez really tight. Arnav started looking down at her lips. They were trembling. Damn Arnav stop before you go any further. A: you are not home and B: she is really nervous. Remember you the first guy in her life. She hasn't been this close to any other guy before. She needs to get use to you before any of this. Thinking this he moved slightly away from her lips and kissed her on her forehead. Khushi was surprised at this. Arnav then looked into her eyes.

Arnav: Thank you Khushi for looking after my Di. Go home. I'll see you back at home.

Saying this he moved back. Khushi watched him move back and started heading for the door but before she left she turned around to look at him. Wondering if he really was her husband or someone else.
