I'm not sure about Lavanya and Steve getting married, hopefully she'll figure him out before they get hitched. Maybe NK will take her mind off him...

Part 19:

Arnav Singh Raizada was a man who commanded attention. He just needed to step into a room full of people, and all of them would tune into his authoritative persona effortlessly. But for all he cared, they could be dead meat, and it still wouldn't bother him. The first time in years, he had been actually liking the fact that he was somebody's center of attention. Correct that. He had been enjoying being Khushi's center of attraction/attention, when she declared that she loved NK! And he was actually waiting to hear the cliche of her joke when her phone buzzed, and she didn't even pay any heed to his growing anger. He pushed his chair, as he stood up, almost making it fall over. And he stomped out of the dining hall, and up the stairs to his room.

Khushi, oblivious to Arnav's angry gaze on her, started having her lunch. She got a call from Payal then, and had just started her conversation with her, when she as Arnav push his chair backward, and stomp out the room, his food untouched. Her eyebrows furrowed in concentration, trying to wonder what had happened to make him so angry, as Payal's voice droned on in the background, Khushi not really paying any attention to her anymore. Khushi kept saying a rhythmic "Hmm" into the phone, as she loaded her own plate with his food too, as she walked out, and up the stairs, to his room, where she knew he would be. Thankfully, nobody saw her take the food upstairs, or else she would probably be surrounded by all of them, and she would be playing 20 questions with them. Except that she'd be fired with, not 20, but 20000000000 questions, add or take a few!

Soon enough she found him in his room, changing. When she entered, he pulled on his tee, and went to the washroom to change into his track pants, muttering something about "Absolutely no privacy, these days!!" Khushi was still doing the same by the time he had come out of the bathroom. Thinking of the source behind his anger, and occasionally "Hmm"ing into the phone.

He ignored her and went towards the recliner, where Khushi came and sat next to him. When he made a move to get up, she held his wrist and coaxed him to sit back with her. He clenched his jaw, but relented. And when she held a piece of roti dipped in the curry in front of his lips, for him to eat, he glared at her, folding his arms over the chest. Payal was crying, telling something, but all Khushi could care about at the moment, was Arnav's anger. She again used her eyes to coax him to open his mouth. He grudgingly opened his mouth, and bit her finger in the process, and smirked when she gasped. And when Khushi sat in a daze, not even bothering about replying in any manner to her sister over the phone, Arnav took the plate in his hand, and started feeding both of them.

The first morsel of roti he held out for Khushi fell to the floor, when Khushi was shocked to death, by her Jiji shouting her name on the phone. Khushi jerked her head in shock. Arnav stared at the morsel on the rug, and then glared back at Khushi, who was now having a sheepish look on her face, as she made more of an effort to listen to her sister's problem. Arnav mixed some rice and curry with a spoon and held that out for Khushi. And again it fell down, when Khushi stood up suddenly, screeching, "What??!! When?!!!"

Arnav who had rolled his eyes, trying to stay calm, looked up at Khushi now, concerned when he saw she had turned angry suddenly. "I'm going to kill her!!" Khushi said in a low voice, her nostrils flaring in anger. He tugged at her hand, questioning whom she intended to kill. Khushi shook her head, as she said, "I'll look into this, Jiji. . . But please know that Akash wouldn't do such a thing. . ." Arnav sat back as he stared at her curiously, and as she sat down, and ended the call, she muttered, "You'll simply have to find another chief model!!"

Arnav nodded seriously, and replied, "You apparently plan to kill her. But why? I haven't even seen her since you spilled juice on me!!" And his hands involuntarily kept the bowl which contained the curry, and dahi out of her reach, looking at her warily, and judged whether she would spill anything else on him today.

Khushi tsked irritatedly as she stood up, and left the room, after murmuring a "Be right back. . ." Arnav sighed as he kept aside the plate, and followed her. She was pounding the door, leading to Akash's room, and when Akash opened the door, surprised at the noise in "Shantivan", Khushi immediately started shooting questions to him, "What's wrong with you? Sana Banerjee??!! Do you like my sister or not??!!" Akash had moved back in shock, as Khushi had moved forward, and when his legs hit the edge of his bed, he slumped onto it, as Arnav watched all this in silent amusement. Akash, flustered for a second drew in a deep breath, removing the disappointment he felt when he thought of Payal. She had told that she would visit him at work that morning. But she hadn't come. And now her younger sister seemed to be shooting random questions at him. He answered all her questions at a go, in a morose voice, "Nothing, What about Sana Banerjee. And yes."

"Jiji saw you and Sana this morning, when she had planned to visit you!" Khushi accused. Payal had been pretty upset because she had seen Sana and Akash kissing. Akash's face blanched, making Khushi glare at him, as if her suspicions had been confirmed by that action of his. "It wasn't Me kissing HER!! SHE forcefully kissed ME!! And I immediately pushed her off. As soon as possible once I recovered from the shock of the whole situation!!" Akash had stood up, surprising Khushi, and she had tried to step back, and tripped. Arnav put a steadying hand across her waist, and listened to the tale which Akash was narrating. Almost as if Sana had raped him.

Khushi had considerably calmed down now, as she sighed, and asked, "So you didn't have anything to do with it?"

"Other than being practically attacked from our chief model, and my girlfriend, who seems to be miffed at me due to that, it has nothing to do with me. . . ." Akash replied, the previous acrimony returning to his voice. Khushi relaxed against Arnav, as she said, "Okay listen. Jiji needs sometime when she is this angry. At least that is what she used to tell me. I'm pretty sure the same dynamics apply to you too. . . Or maybe not! Depending on how far your relationship has progressed. . . . Give her some time, okay??"

Akash nodded, as he smiled gratefully at her advise, asked in a genuinely curious voice, without any teasing, "What would you have done, Khushi? If you were in Payal's place?"

Arnav and Khushi looked at each other, remembering the juice incident. Khushi's face had a guilty look, whereas Arnav sported an amused look for a second, before he burst out laughing. Khushi tugged him out of there, leaving an utterly shocked Akash behind, and was going upstairs, when NK called out Khushi. She turned to see him holding the cutest possible teddy bear in his hands. Arnav felt Khushi immediately leave his arm, as she "Awww"ed and went to NK to take it from him. "This is so cute!!! Who is it for?!" She asked him, when NK replied, "For you, of course! Akash had told me that you'd be here. . . And I somehow knew you would like it!!"

"Awww!! I love it!! Thanks NK!!" Khushi wished him, and sat down with the rest as she started talking to NK as if he was her long-lost friend.

Arnav realized how unnaturally angry he had turned into, when he felt a stinging pain on his knuckles. He bent to see the bruises where he had hit the wall next to him, and turned to see at his family, and Khushi sitting there, all talking with so much happiness. In normal conditions, he would have loved to watch them bubble with so much happiness, and laughter. But right now "Watching" them was the last thing he wanted to do. Nobody had either observed him getting angry, or him punching the wall with his fist, or him stomping up the stairs.

Khushi, after a few minutes, realized that she had left Arnav alone. And she was feeling really hungry. She took up her new teddy, Princess Sugarbear, as she had decided to call it, and entered Arnav's room to see him pounding his poor laptop. He hadn't eaten, and Khushi thought, 'Maybe he was waiting for me. . . .' She was walking towards him, when he said in his coldest voice, "Can't you knock before you enter?"

Khushi stopped in her tracks, as she took in the tone of his voice, and the stiff set of his shoulders. He was angry. 'What now??!!' she thought, as she decided to make him talk it out, and came to sit next to him. She took the plate in her hands, and broke a piece of roti and held it in front of his lips, feeling worried about his blood sugar levels now. Arnav moved his head to look at the screen of his laptop from around her hand. "Not hungry." He muttered, when Khushi touched his lips with it, and he pushed her hand away, as he stood up, and shouted, "Which part of not hungry didn't you understand?!"

Khushi was too dumbfounded for a moment while he yelled at her, but soon found her anger bubbling within her too. "You know what?! Go to hell!!" Khushi muttered, and was about to exit his room, when she remembered Sugarbear still laid on his recliner. When she returned to take up her teddy bear, he pulled her roughly against himself, the bear tumbling onto the floor. "So you came to pick your precious bear gifted by your precious friend!!" Arnav muttered through gritted teeth, and Khushi looked into his angry eyes as she struggled to free herself from his deadly grip. 'What is his problem?! He's jealous of the bear??!!' Khushi was thinking when she realized it wasn't the bear about which Arnav was jealous of. It was about the person who had gifted her this bear!

Nevertheless, this was no way to talk to her! Had she asked NK to gift her anything?! Let alone such a cute thing? She refused to back off and mutely suffer his anger this time. "Do you even realize how ridiculous you sound right now?!" Khushi asked, only to see something snap in him. He pushed her away roughly, and growled, "Out!" And when Khushi didn't make any move, he repeated it, "I said, OUT!"

Khushi huffed and puffed, as she picked her bear up, much to Arnav's annoyance, and marched out of his room, an angry sob coming out of her at the door, and Arnav immediately started feeling wretched about yelling at her. He decided to ignore it, and sat down to work. After making use of his time productively, he saw it was already 9 p.m. He hadn't seen Khushi after their fight. She had not even come to give him his tea. He knew she would come down for dinner, and thought of seeing her there. And when he went down, neither was Khushi there, nor his sister. He asked Shyam, as to where Di was, and Shyam smiled affectionately as he answered, "She is helping Khushi with a saree. Khushi is now a life-sized dressing doll for Anjali. . ."

And as if that was his sister's cue, she cleared her throat loudly, and announced, "Ladies, and gentlemen! Ms. Khushi Kumari Gupta, in her attire for Ms. Lavanya Kashyap's wedding!!" And she moved to make way for an absolutely ravishing-looking Khushi. She wore a blood-red colored soft silk saree, which had golden thread interwoven in a pattern, and the same design ran along the border. The pallu was draped in such a way that, the curve of her waist was visible on both the sides. And her blouse! It wasn't too deep. But it was so short, that it barely covered the essentials. And Arnav's eyes caught the glint of the light appearing from her waist, and his eyes slowly roamed to see what it was, as he saw the excuse of a kamarbund sitting snugly on her waist. It had 2 thin chains. One sat at the curve of her waist, and the other rested lazily at the beginning of her hips. And this was visible because the saree was clad on her hips at the lowermost point which couldn't be called indecent. And her hair was let down, and covered the part of her chest which her saree failed to cover.

Arnav's breathing hitched, and turned raspy, as he automatically licked his lips on his own volition. Khushi, who had seen this reaction of his, bent her head, and bit her lip shyly. Anjali asked, "Chotey, how is she looking??" Arnav had just opened his mouth to answer her, not knowing what he should answer, when NK said in a dazed voice, "Beauutiful. . . ."

Khushi's shoulders slumped, when she saw Arnav's anger snap again at NK's compliment. 'What is my fault in this?! Shouldn't you understand?!' Khushi's eyes questioned, and Arnav looked away from her eyes, refusing to answer any of her question. He made an excuse of phone call and left the room. At the door, he turned to his sister, and said, "This call will take time. . . All of you have dinner, and I'll eat later. . . ."

Anjali nodded to her brother, and as he left, she noticed the disappointed look on Khushi's face. 'How many times will these two fight?' she thought, and looked at Shyam helplessly. Shyam had pursed his lips too, when he had observed the tensed air between his saale saahab and Khushi. He now looked pointedly at Khushi, and jerked his head in the direction where Arnav had gone. Anjali got a little worried, as she saw the way Khushi was dressed. She didn't know it for sure, but she had vague idea that her brother might eat Khushi alive, if she neared him when no one was around. She looked at the way the saree clung to Khushi and then doubtfully, and then at Shyam. Shyam stifled his laugh, and nodded encouragingly once more.

Khushi realized she had to talk to him about this sooner or later. She sighed heavily, as she realized to do it now. "I'll change, and then join you people for dinner. . . ." Khushi said, and was about to leave, when Anjali called her and asked to handle the glass of juice to Arnav, on the way to her room. "Woh kya hai na? He has this important call, and he'll have to talk so much. . . This is just so that his throat won't feel dry. . . ." Anjali explained, hoping they would soon sort out their fight. She simply couldn't see the sad puppy look on Khushi's face anymore.

Khushi simply nodded, and left with the glass in her hands.

Precap: "You see why I can't talk right now?" Arnav asked, taking in the sinful image that Khushi created. With her pallu off her, and the first hook of her blouse undone, her hair ruffled by his own ministrations, and her delectable lips parted, as she breathed in and out, causing her chest to heave enticingly.

Holy God! The first ever serious fight which is yet to be solved. Nooo! This cant happen between them. For first time ever, NK😡😡 Yes, I understand he hasn't done it purposefully yet I couldn't control my anger over him!😡😡

Ha ha! Hmmm'ing on phone - I loved that phrase.. Arnav even fed her and that bear spoiled it again!! I would have loved that sugarbear if it was gifted by Arnav but now I got a grudge against that too😭

Saree! Hmmm.. "Yummy and delicious" Was that what Arnav felt when he saw her? The way you explained it and NK's instant comment! My poor Arnav he must have gone thru a lot!!

And you'll not update for a month but you gave that sizzling precap?? I'm a human! I cant resist much for that long time. Please reconsider sisy!!

In fact, I had thought of stopping the process of sending out PMs. But people who comment, and people who are really interested to know about my latest updates may find it tough to keep track. Hence this practice.

And I won't be updating until the end of the month May.

So I hate you. Its official.

You give us that tease of a chapter and if that wasnt enough, we get THAT precap and then no update for a frickin month! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

And you were even more cruel with me! You had me choose the Sari without telling me that you were just going to put it as a teaser in this chapter and leave it like a treat hanging for a month! WHY?! (*So she has now uploaded the pic for everyone to see...all, lets make a force against Harshu and this cruelty! :s :/)

You are very evil. Very, I tell you. You have used my Arnavaddiction (credit - you :p), ArHi-obsession and gutterluted mind to play with my sentiments! GAH!

Miss Harshitha Shankar!! You write such a nice chapter, leaving us a t a cliffhanger, and then tell us very sweetly, politely not to expect any updates until the end of next month, that is like.. 40 days from now??

Seriously, what the!!

That was a very nice chapter.. Arnav is being like reaaalllyy foolish. Jealous of NK?? Seriously, but then again, he's all the more lovable when he's all jelly! :P

And sorry about that thing above.. You need family time. Go enjoy, while we all wait for our Harshu to come back and give us a looonnnggg update! You will, na?? Pleeease?
