Stunned at the visiting card in his hand. Shyam was the PG? Shyam had been engaged to Khushi? Shyam had betrayed Khushi's family?

But how. What had happened?

So that was the reality between the Shyam Khushi bond. He had stayed here, the scoundrel, duped the Gupta family of being single, he was sure and tried to get engaged to her.

Oh God! What had he done!

All the pain he had given her. All the hurt. And the way in which he had humiliated her and tormented himself. And all because of Shyam! Not just Shyam, something in him whispered.

It was also because he had mistrusted her.

For the rest of the day he avoided Khushi.

Whenever he saw her, he felt a stab of pain. How could he be so blind? Whenever she smiled, he felt more guilty because he knew the smile would be robbed the moment she knew what he had suspected her of. Could he tell her? How could he tell her? She would not even let him close to her again. He would lose her forever. Was he the same man who had wanted to let her go after 6 months?

How could he stop her from leaving him? He knew Khushi valued marriage and she would not break it easily if he really asked her to continue the bond. But would she? This wasn't a real marriage.

So make it real, some part of him whispered. He was horrified. How could he trick her into consummating the bond? If she learnt the truth later she would hate him more. But she will not leave him. For sure, because Khushi would never walk away from a real marriage.
