Chapter 2

After working all morning in the kitchen and finally finishing everyone's orders Khushi was now free. She had avoided going to AR but sent everyone's lunches to them even Arnav's. She knew he would either eat or chuck it. All she knew he was her husband and that she had done her duty as a wife even if he didn't deserve it.

She got out from her work place locked it up and went to go see her family. She was happy at the thought of seeing them and spending time with them.

She got to GH a little after 2pm and knocked the door. Her aunt answered and they hugged each other. Khushi went inside and hugged her mum so tight that her mum thought what's wrong. Khushi assured her she was fine and things at Shantivan were ok. Payal was already there sitting down and Khushi said "Jiji how come you're sitting down? Shouldn't we go and help amma in the kichen?"

Payal: No use Khushi. Dadi has invited everyone back to Shantivan for dinner tonight . So food will go waste if we cook here.

Khushi: Amma you agreed to come so easily?

Amma: I know Khushi but your nani saas was so insistent that we had to say yes.

Khushi knew what nanji was like so she didn't argue any further and went to go she her bauji on the pretext of giving him his medicine. As soon as she walked into his room she hugged him and cried. She didn't know how long she was there. All she knew she needed to cry even though her bauji was helpless in even giving her a hug.

She got up after a while and said she was crying because she missed them so much that is all. She saw her bauji and she wiped his tears away and gave him his medicine.

At AR, Arnav had looked at the dabba left to him by his employee. He had already shouted at him for ordered from her again but his employee said we only ordered for ourselves. This one was sent for you. Arnav couldn't help but look at what she had cooked. He opened the dabba to find she had sent him his favourite foods. He started eating. He wasn't surprised at all of how good it tasted after all he did have food before from her that she had cooked but seeing that she cooked his favourite foods made this meal more special. A thought crossed his mind that even his sister who he dearly loved didn't know how to cook this great. All of sudden he thought what was he thinking but the food was so delicious that he couldn't stop himself and ate it all. After he had finished he was in turmoil about how can someone who cooks so well be so evil at heart. He got up, went to freshen up and came back to his laptop to concentrate AR's latest design line.

Back at GH Khushi and Payal were in their old room remembering the times they had there. Khushi all of sudden realised that a lot of her clothes and other items were still here. She got up walked to her and Payal's old cupboard and started taking things out. Looking at her Payal came over and stated helping her. Both Garima and buaji came into the room and watched the girls doing this.

Payal: Khushi there is still a lot your items here.

Khushi : I know jiji but you still have quite a number things.

Payal: There's only my old suits and I don't need them anymore after all I got a lot of things around my wedding time from here and from your jijaji's family.

Hearing this bought tears to Khushi's eyes. Realizing what she had said Payal hugged her sister. At this both Garima and buaji looked at one another and remembered how they had treated Khushi after her abrupt marriage and how the pug-phere rasam didn't go so well.

Khushi looked at her family and assured them it was ok and she was fine. With this she started packing all the rest her clothes and items to take back to Shantivan.

Payal: Hold on Khushi how are going to take all this back with us?

Kushi: Jiju is coming to pick us up we will manage somehow.

Payal: We can't though. There are six of us going back in the car plus all these things. It is not possible.

Khushi looked at everything she had taken out of the cupboard and even started to wonder what to do. All of sudden Anjali called her.

Anjali: Hello Khushiji. As you know we have invited your family over for dinner.

Khushi: Haa di. I know but there is a problem there are five of us plus jiju making six and there can't be six in the car.

Anjali: Oh god I forgot. Wait I know I'll call Chotey and he can pick you up.

Before Khushi could answer Anjali put her phone down. Khushi started wondering oh god now what. She then explained to her family that Arnav was also on his way in his car and he is gonna come to pick her up. Payal and Khushi went back to packing without noticing what they were taking with them.

Once Anjali had called him, Arnav was not best pleased that he had to go pick up Khushi but his di gave him no choice in the matter. He finished and meeting went to his car and started driving towards GH. Akash had already left ahead of him by then.

Once he had reached GH he couldn't believe his eyes. There standing in front of house was Khushi with bags full of items and what looked like a chest. Akash had taken the rest of family to Shantivan leaving Khushi to wait for Arnav. He looked at her and thought WHAT THE…….?

Arnav: What is all this Khushi?

Khushi: It's all mine and jiji's stuff that we left here. In case you forgot our wedding was hasty. I never had the chance to pack everything I owned.

Arnav just looked at her in frustration and started helping her. At first Khushi didn't want his help but after a tug of war between them she had to give in. Once the car was packed, they reached Shantivan half an hour after Akash and the rest of the Gupta parivaar. After Arnav and Khushi had taken everything from the car they dropped everything in the living room and came over to the dining table and ate. Once all the family had eaten they moved in the living room.

Nani: Khushi bitiya what is all this?

Khushi: Naniji it's….. it's everything that jiji and I left at home.

Nani and Anjali looked at one another knowing full well why. Then Anjali noticed the chest.

Anjali: What's in the chest Khushiji?

Khushi: Oh this. This has everything that is precious to me.

Anjali: Really. Are we allowed to look what you have in there?

Khushi: Yes of course.

Saying that, Khushi opened her chest and started showing everyone everything that was precious to her since she was a child. Some items brought back painful memories as some items belonged to her real parents and some items brought back some funny memories. Anjali, who was sitting close to Khushi, while she was going through her chest, noticed a box carefully wrapped up in the chest. Anjali boldly took the box out and asked what's in here? Khushi looked at the box and said it's nothing and tried to take it back but Anjali wasn't having any of it and wouldn't give it back. The box passed from Anjali to Nani to Mami to Mama to Akash to Payal and carefully back to Anjali while Khushi was chasing it. Khushi tried her best to grab it back. Arnav who was watching this whole scene, was as intrigued as anyone as to what was in the box, got up took the box himself and opened it. He looked in the box and was shocked.
