Love is hard to ignore
Brij was trying really hard to knot his tie across his neck but somehow like everyday he was unsuccessful. frustrated he drops the tie to the ground and slips onto his bed and sits down with his head in his hands. He worried sick about geet and her decision but then again, if what she thought was true then it would be end of her little world and that he couldn't let it happen. Simran came in and was only disaapointed to see her loving husband worried. It wasn't usually the way it would be. she came and sat next to him and put a hand on his back soothingly. brij just hugged and started sobbing vehemently. simran just hugged her husband and drew soothing soothing circles on his back with her hand. After brij calmed down, she started speaking.
Sim: you dont have to worry about geet. she's stronger than you think and we're all here for her. after all she's our little angel.
brij looked up unto his wife's face. her eyes sparkled with love and care. No wonder he had fallen in love with her instantly. She was that much mesmerisingly sweet. but right the situation was something more bothering.
Brij: you dont understand.
Sim: i completely understand and i know you will sort it out. because at some point i do realise maan wouldn't hurt geet.
Brij:How...
simran kept a finger on his lips to stop him...
Sim: i heard everything geet told you, i had come to check on you both. Sorry for eavesdropping.
she looked at her husband apologetically. He could only smile at her.
Sim: well now, i think you should leave for work, it's already late or maybe you want to meet maan?
she asked doubtfully not wanting to interefere with her husband's plans. he sighed at her words,
Brij: I think i'll meet maan outside office, i dont want geet to know anything about it. you know what i mean right?
Simran silently nodded and got up from bed followed by brij. she tied his tie's knot like always and straightened it smiling. Brij returned the gesture and kissed her on her forehead before they both walked out of the room.
On the other hand, Maan was very much early to his work. He was sitting in his cabin deep in thougth when the sudden shrill of his cellphone woke him up from his deep thoughts. "who the hell is calling this early?" he muttered to himself, before leaning towards the table and picking up the phone. He was surprised to see the caller id flashing on his pone. was something wrong? he thought. he recieved the call placing the phone to his ears.
Maan: hello?
Brij: Hello maan, how are you?
Maan: I'm good brij, how are u doing?
Brij: I am good too
Maan: Brij what's wrong?
Brij: i want to meet you maan, Now! Can you please come to my office?
Maan: Is something wrong? why are u so anxious?
Brij:i'll explain everything once you reach office.
Maan: fine i'll be there in half an hour.
Brij; Ok then, see you in a while. Bye
Maan: Bye.
maan put his phone down on the table wondering why Brij had asked him to mee tin his office. Usually when Brij called it was either for a casual talk or a serious matter. But this time it looks like the matter was pretty serious. But before he went to meet brij he had to make sure nobody dared to come into his office, mainly geet. She could easily drop her resignation letter on his table and leave. that was something he dint want, so he called up Adi and informed him what to do. after a brief talk, he got up from his chair and left the office.
Geet made it to the office just in time. she lloked at the clock, 9:00 AM. 'Thank God!' she whispered. she breathing heavily since she had been running to reach the office. after a huge sigh, she walked towards her cabin to type down the RESIGNATION LETTER. Even though her heart felt heavy with emotion everytime she thought about it, she couldn't help it. If she doesn't resign, it would be a living hell for her. Without maan life would be completely HELL but she could manage it, somehow she had thought. But if she dint, everytime she looked at maan, she would fall in love with him again, like yesterday and it would become harder for her to conjure ther fact that he is no more her's. It was almost like maan had become her oxygen, if only Love wasn't this complicated.
She sat down on her chair and glanced towards maan's cabin from behind the blinds. he wasn't there, so she assumed maan was being late today. That was indeed good she thought, she could easily sneak into his cabin and leave the resignation letter and leave the office before he showed up. She hastily switched on the computer and started typing her letter. But like they say "Love is hard to ignore", everytime geet thought of typing a word, maan's face would pop up in front of her eyes. All those memories of when she made maan do things he never did, came crashing down her mind and heart. her fingers stopped at the keys on her keyboard.
"what was i doing?" she asked herself, realising how wrong she was, now. it was true that when things go wrong and we dont get love in return for the love we show, we easily believe it's all over. Simply coz our heart is broken and we just dont let our mind do the thinking. We often forget that love is about giving and not expecting in return. the pain we feel is so overwhelming we just let everything spoil our life and that was geet was going to do, ruin her life.
but now that she has realised what she was going to do, she jerked back from her computer. she could never be happy away from maan. it may be true that he belongs to someone else but she could easily lead her life just by looking at him everyday for the rest of her life, no matter how much it may pain to see him with someone else, she would go through everything just to see him everyday. if love would be unfair, she was fine but at any cost she wasn't ready to be unfair to herself and deny herself the chance to just be a little happy, if not more.
As she thought this down, tears started pouring out from her eyes profusely and she could do nothing to stop them. She cried until her eyes ached. She wiped her tears and went to fetch her phone from her bag. She dialed a number and waited for a response from the other side.
Meanwhile maan drove into Handa Constructions head office and parked his car in the basement. He went right upto brij's cabin and opened it, he peeped inside only to find brij on phone. Brij nodded maan to come in. maan made his way towards brij's table and sat across him with blank facade. it was bothering him so much to keep his mind off of geet. all he did was think abt her and the things she could do to get her resignation letter typed and delivered to him. he was so very anxious abt it that he dint realise when brij ended his call and was deeply studying maan.
brij coughed to gain maan's attention. he was successful as maan was startled and came back to reality. looking brij smile some of the thoughts about meeting brij in person loosened up. maan smiled at brij, they both greeted each other and talked for a while abt business and personal lives. Finally, maan asked him,
maan: brij i know u had called me to discuss something important...
he trailed off. brij nodded,
Brij: i was coming to it maan.
