Chapter 16
(M POV)
I walk back into my room in my apartment. Today had been a long day, Uday's family took us to a small picnik, and then Uday and me headed back home.
"Did you enjoy yourself Princess?" Uday tells me, before leaving my room to go back to his apartment.
"Sure I did, it was fun. We should do this again," I tell him. He nods and bids me good night, then he leaves.
I get changed into my nightwear, not wanting to damage my beautiful pink anakali I wore today. I just slip into my bed when I hear muffles.
There are footsteps, getting louder and louder. Soon, there's a bang and a scream. I start panicking, and get hold of a glass. Walking nearer and nearer towards my door, I build up the courage to open it. But relieved when there's no one in sight.
I look around to just double check, when there is a sudden gust of wind. I shiver, starting to get frightened.
"Kaun hai?" I shout, holding up my glass to threaten the person. Then there's another gust of wind, following with my bedroom door closing with a massive bang.
I jump, letting my glass drop and shattered into millions of pieces.
I lean my back against the wall, and make my way into the kitchen. There I pick up a wooden spoon to defend myself to whatever was in the apartment. I hear more bangs, and mutterings.
"Kaun hai?" I repeat again, hoping this isn't some big joke on me. There's an eerie silence, making me wonder if the thing has gone. I slowly walk back towards my room, making sure to check the whole place out.
Then there's a knock, that makes me jump. I scream, then hushing myself and walk carefully towards the door.
I open it, quickly lifting my wooden spoon to hit the person.
"Princess what are you doing?!" Uday askes shocked.
"Oh sorry," I hold my spoon down, "I thought you were the strange person."
"Strange person? What's been going on Princess?" he askes me.
"There's someone here Uday, I heard screams, mutters, footsteps and then there were strange gusts of wind," I quickly tell him, as he closes the door behind him. Then there is another gust of wind, shutting the kitchen door with a bang.
"Uday," I scream, quickly hugging him. He jumps as well, then reassures me. Holding each other's hands, we slowly make our way towards the kitchen. Uday throws open the door, and I'm ready to hit whoever was in there.
But there was no one.
We walked into the kitchen looking around, then the door suddenly closed behind us.
"I think your right Princess, there's something here," He tells me. I gulp, what would be here to torture us now?
We see a figure moving really quickly, and then it stops in front of us. It gives out a loud laugh.
Aakash.
I squeeze Uday's hands tighter.
"What are you doing here?" Uday says in a calm tone.
"That's none of your business," he sniggers.
"Out you go Aakash, out of Manyata's apartment," Uday says, but he doesn't move. "Now!"
"Uff, Udaybeer, helping his girlfriend out. How sweet. Its gonna take me more than this to move," he replies.
That's all it takes, and Uday punches him.
Well, did try to punch him. His hand just went straight into Aakash's body and then came out, not doing a harm. Aakash starts laughing.
"W-What are you?" Uday stammers, I hold on to his arm.
"I'm nothing, just air."
"No, that's not true. We saw you die in the forest, how could you be here?" Uday stammers on.
"To haunt us," I mutter, shocked.
Then his loud laughs turn to a mute. "You sure got that right darling," Aakash's bhoot says, before disappearing.
Then Uday and me are left in complete shock.
