Chapter 27
She smiled back. Then she said excited, "Come. Let me show you everything else."
He let her guide him up the stairs into a room. Turning the lights on, she stepped in and said, "This is your room."
He smiled and watched her admire the work she had done. He put on a naughty grin and walked to her. Slipping his head around her waist, he whispered in her ear, "My room?"
She nodded and feeling her heart beats rise, she blushed deeply. To hide the blush, she dipped her head down away from him. He closed the distance between his mouth and her ears and whispered again, "Na-uh. Our room."
She smiled and blushing hard as ever, she slightly nudged him away and ran out to the balcony. Closing her eyes, she inhaled in the nights fresh wind and looking up at the shining bright moon who seemed to be showering his light on them in the pitch of darkness. He followed her steps and again, slid his hands across her waist. She pressed her head against his hard core chest and kept her hand on top of his hand. This time to stay like that for a while.
"Acha listen. I have one demand." He said making her turn to face him. His hand was now behind her and hers' on his chest.
She asked, "What?"
"I'll move to this house. But only with Mrs. Geet Singh Khurana." He said mischievously making her blush again. She buried her face in his shirt as she playfully hit him on his arm.
"What? It's going to happen tomorrow if not today." He replied innocently.
She raised her head and looking into his eyes, replied, "MK, for that, you have to ask for my hand. Something which you haven't done yet."
"Then I'll do it right now."
She eyes widened. "Right now??" she asked back surprised.
"Yea, any problem?"
"Not really… well, sort of. You need a ring to do that silly." She replied with a sweet giggle.
She had taken a step back while the conversation had taken place. Maan held her hand and pulled her close to him in a jerk. "Ms. Geet. Ring is only a formality. Something we don't need. Our relationship is pure and developed from our deepest place in heart. I don't need any ring to ask for your hand in marriage."
She looked into his eyes to see only love in them. Love which was for her only. She melted in his gaze and couldn't stop the tears from forming in her eyes. How could she stop when the things she never in her wildest dreams imagined were coming true? She was in front of a person who loved her most in the world and would do anything for her. She was in front of then man whom she loved more than herself.
She knew what he said was the truth. They didn't need a ring for that. "I'll feel good if it did take place with the ritual Maan." She replied with honesty in her words and with full emotions that expressed through her eyes.
He nodded and hugging her, said, "So shall it be." She hugged him back. Again, she asked herself if she could ask for anything else! He had been the most understanding person she could ever meet. With each second, her love for him grew. The world kept changing for her each time she breathed. Now, she was going short on words to explain her happiness, her luck, her love, her MK. It was only a matter of time before he'd be truly hers forever and ever.
He kissed her hair and embraced the moment, the feelings, the love, the surroundings, and the chilly wind blowing across their skin. None of the outside interferences mattered to either of them as long as they were in the other's embrace.

The chirping of the birds marked the new dawn. The arrival of a new day in their bright lives. Geet opened her eyes to welcome the new morning in her life. Last night had been one of the memorable one's. All they had was have a short cute moment and an everlasting hug.
Excited for what the day holds for her, she quickly got ready and took off for office. Once there, she found Maan already there waiting for her.
"Maan, what are you doing here?" she asked taking her seat.
Instantly, he pulled her back up and said, "Come on."
"Where?"
"You ask too much questions. Just come. No work today."
"Maan, but I have important files to look at." She objected as he pulled her out with him.
He stopped to answer, "You have your employees for that only. I don't have to hear anything else now. You're coming with me and that's final."
"Okay baba. I'm coming. At least tell where we are going."
He didn't answer and just made her sit in the car. She made a grumpy face and pulled the seat belt around her figuring that she won't be getting any answers what so ever she tried.

Geet said, "Maan, what is this?" as she carefully walked forward. She was blindfolded.
"Shh. Careful." He whispered as he indicated that she had to take a slight step up. She carefully found the upper ground and climbed it. After walking for about five more minutes, Maan made her stop.
It was about time the stopped. He had a grin on her and she felt him walk around. Seconds later, he said, "You can look now."
That was different of him to not open the blindfold for her. Nevertheless, she opened it herself and the second she opened her eyes, she saw the best thing she could ever see.
Maan was on his knees in front of her. She blinked to make sure she wasn't dreaming and also, keeping her eyes shut for that long had made her vision a bit blurry. No, she wasn't dreaming, she told herself. Maan grinned back at her and spoke with the utmost emotions in his voice.
"Geet, when where what do not matter. All I know is that I've been in love with you even before I met you. After I met you, it feels as if you were the one I was looking for my whole life. You hold some charm in you that just pulls me towards you. I've never been crazy about anything in my life before till now. Every night I go to sleep thinking about you. I wake up just to see your face again. Just to get a glimpse of it, I can do anything. I love you not for your beauty but for the beauty of your heart."
"You walk in my dreams day and night. I don't know how else to stop myself from thinking about you. That's all I seem to be doing when you're not in front of me. You are my desire now. You are my destiny, for all I know. I yearn for you. You're my every heartbeat. The reason I still breathe. I want to make you mines."
"Will you give me the right to see you in front of me each morning? I want you to be the first face I see after I wake up and last I see before I close my eyes."
Geet smiled. It was the sweetest proposal from all that she had seen in movies and all. This one would be an unforgettable moment for sure. A proposal on the New York City Bridge, the place from where there was water all around and most of the city could be viewed. Yes, it was crowded with car zooming past them. What's the bad thing in that? It was realistic and yet so plain, beautiful and romantic.
She put her hand in his forwarded hand and guided him to get up. Once he was on his feet, she gave a huge smile and with a tear falling from her eye, she nodded up and down and took him in a tight hug.
"Yes… yes!" she whispered in his ears.
No doubt she would have said that. Maan lifted her from the ground as the hug continued and twirled her around once, expressing his happiness. He whispered back, "I love you." And kissed her hair.
"I love you too." She replied back taking Maan by surprise. He didn't think she'd say it this easily.
He put her down and asked, "What did you just say? Repeat it one more time…"
She giggled and cupping his face, she repeated, "I love you."
He took her in yet another hug and stayed that way for a while.

It was dinner time and Dadi had invited Geet to come over along with Pari. Rano was already there and all sat at the dining table as the cook served their plates. Everyone began eating.
Geet forwarded to hand to eat but Maan pulled it down under the table. Her eyes widened with surprise and tried to juggler her wrist to free herself. All was futile against Maan and his tight grip on her. She made a pouting face to him secretly but he wasn't ready to give him.
He shook his head and enjoying it, started having his own dinner. Having no other choice, Geet started to eat with the wrong hand. No one questioned it as they were well aware of what Maan was doing. They just pretended to have not noticed and let them have their own fun.

"You- you devil, what were you doing down there huh? You found that time only to tease me? What if dadi or mom had seen? Don't you care about anything else other than have fun?" she rambled on throwing pillows at Maan as they sat in the room.
Dadi and Rano watched their daily soaps and Pari took off saying she was tired. Geet stayed back to help clear the dinner and then Rano told her to wait a while longer as she didn't want to miss the night's episode of her favorite drama show.
"Geet – Geet calm down. No one saw it. What's the big deal? I was just holding your hand, not some other girls."
"Don't even think about holding someone else's." she threatened and the topic changed before she realized. She had stopped throwing pillows and whatever else she could find at him to take a brief pause.
Taking advantage of that, Maan stepped up beside her and made her sit down, "I'm sorry. Forgive me? I will never hold your hand in front of anyone now."
Never? The word rang in her ears. How much she hated that word?! Making a realization, she replied very low, "Never? I didn't mean that! You can hold it, just not when we aren't even engaged yet." She blushed as she said that.
Maan knelt down in front of her and watched her blush in pleasure. "Oh ho. You look even more beautiful when you blush." He commented only to make her cheeks go brighter shade of red.
She then realized another thing and got mad. She got up instantly, making Maan get up as well. "How dare you even think about holding someone else's hand?"
"Huh?" he asked as he had already forgotten what he had said. That was boys. Never keeping a tab on their own words. While girls on the other hand remember each and every word.
"Great, now you don't even remember what you just said. Hai babaji, what if you don't remember me tomorrow? What will I do then? Geet, you'll be destroyed then." She was now talking more to herself rather than venting her anger out.
Maan gazed at he, crossing his hands across his chest. How can anyone be so innocent?
To make her stop, he held her by her shoulders and brought her closer to him in a jerk. As imagined, she stopped abruptly to look back into his eyes.
He spoke not breaking the trance, "There can be nothing in this world that will make me forget you. And I had said that I was holding your hand. I wouldn't even want to think about holding someone else's hand. I love you. Only you. Understand that?"
She nodded, not wanting to destroy the moment. She didn't want to say anything either. The love in both of their eyes was enough to let the other know about their thoughts.
He moved his face closer to hers and kissed her cheek. Moving up, he kissed her forehead as she bent her face, allowing him to. He cupped her face and both gazed into the other's eyes. This was the moment neither of them was going to have any doubts. He was close to closing the distance between their lips when someone coughed.
It was a third person, they realized as she reopened her eyes. Realizing the only two options, both sprang apart from the other. But the fortunate work had been done. They were caught by both dadi and Rano. Nothing to hide now. Both of them already knew about their growing love, it was just a matter of time before they had caught them.
Asking through their eye brows, both the elderly ladies gave a stern look. Maan said, "Dadi, you always keep bugging me about getting married na…"
He was just making an excuse and Geet bowed her head down, blushing. She dared to look up at her mother and ran to her and hid her face as she hugged her. Rano smiled and patter her hair as Maan scratched his head like a cute monkey.
Dadi pulled his ears and he yelled out in pain. Geet looked at him, her hands still around her mother's waist and head resting on her shoulder.

I will be updating one more tomorrow. Was going to post both today but it's after 1:00 a.m. here and I'm tired too after the day's stress. Promise to reply to comments ASAP. They are just building up... I think I have to start from Chapter 25 🤔
