TOI: Sreejita to play Tapasyas daughter

" Uttaran" is ready to take its viewers on an all new journey. With the serial taking the 18 year leap, new characters will be added to it.

New faces will take on strong characters andSreejita De, the bubbly girl from Kolkata would be one of the important characters added to it. In Jaipur, to talk about the serial, Sreejita talked about her role, and also her upcoming Bollywood movie

After playing the lead but docile Annu's role in "Annu Ki Ho Gayi Waah Bhai Waah", playing the character of a high-headed Mukta, Tapasya's daughter in the serial would be a very different character to portray. Sreejita says, "I am completely a contrast character in real life. I am simple, down-to-earth and love to talk to people and socialise, unlike Mukta who is arrogant, very precise and has lot of attitude. There is no similarity between me and Mukta. But both of us are ambitious."

Seen in Yashraj Banner's "Luv Ka The End", De will soon be doing Anuraag Kashyap's upcoming film "Monsoon Shootout". Her first film didn't do well, but she has high hopes for her upcoming film. "That was not a big-budget film. And most of the actors were newcomers. Ab Yashraj ki film karne se koi raat bhar mein Rani Mukerji toh ban nahi sakta na," she asks. "Though it's not a woman centric film, but I have some high expectations. The film will definitely help me establishing my footing as an actor in the Hindi film industry," adds De.
