Part 7

Arnav reaches the hospital, walks up to the OT and finds the nurse there

Arnav: Where is my wife?

Nurse: She has been relocated to VIP room 11

Arnav leaves and goes to the room...Standing outside, he peeps through the glass bit on the door and sees Payal, Anjali, and Nani sitting on the sofa, in the room, no one talking, just complete silence, their faces now swollen from crying so much. His gaze shifts focus to his wife now, the love of his life, Mrs. Khushi Raizada, wearing a blue gown with white polka dots on it, her hair in a loose ponytail lying next to her arms, nothing moving, her whole body under a white sheet except her face and a bit of neck from where he saw the dress...

The nurse comes from behind: "Excuse me, Mr Raizada"...Arnav stops her

Arnav: Who changed my wife's clothes?

Nurse making a weird face at him: I did, sir

Arnav's face relieved, and nods and lets her in

The door closes and he is still peeping in through the glass..he sees the nurse enters and changing the glucose bag and saying something to Nani to which everyone looks around and are now staring at him right in the eyes. He enters the room getting the hint.

Arnav: Sorry nani, sorry di, I was just..

Nani: We understand Chote. When you love someone so much and they just...

Arnav's eyes getting teary again because Nani said "Love" and all he had given her was everything BUT love...But he was determined to give her love now, if ONLY she wakes up...

He says: Nani, nothing will happen to Khushi, she will be back very soon

Nani nods and holds Anjali's and Payal's hand and they all let out a smile

Arnav: di, I think you should take nani and payal home with you. Nani is looking quite tired and you should be resting too, you shouldn't be stressed like this..

Anjali: Payal should stay here and take after Khushi, chote

Arnav: no, di, I am here to do that. Payal needs to go home and look after every other member of the family. As her jethani is not well, the devrani should step in. Everyone's mood lifts up and they all agree to leave. Arnav was clear about one thing. His family had now forgiven Khushi with all their heart.

He waited for them to go, and he turned to walk towards khushi's bed where she lay adorning quiet and peace. She had never looked this peaceful. He felt bad. Arnav felt very bad seeing that she was actually in a state of peace when she was disconnected with him, when she doesn't want to come back, she is feeling peaceful because she wants to go to her parents, people who actually love her and believe her"

Arnav kneels beside the bed, takes her hand in his, and rubs it against his cheeks kissing it often "Khushi, I will not let you go. Khushi you will have to come back to me, are you listening Khushi, I am your husband and you have to listen to me, you have to come back to me" Now his speech accompanying tears "Please Khushi, you have to come back to me. I have realised what a big mistake I have done, please Khushi forgive me, please but come back to me. I will believe you."

The doctor comes in and Arnav gets up, straightens himself while the doc picks up the file from the bed

He checks her BP, and heart pulse.

Doc: Mr. Raizada, her pulse is deteriorating, I am sorry to say this, but if this continues for another day, we will have to put her on the life-support machine.

Arnav just stares at the doctor in disbelief

As the doctor starts to turn around to go, he feels a hand on his shoulder

Arnav: Doctor, I don't care how much money you need but You HAVE to bring her back to life

Doc: Sir, you need to understand that we can save life, but we cant give life. We have already saved Mrs. Raizada's life but she doesn't want to accept life, she is reluctant to wake up, she is not willing to breathe..

Arnav remembers the flashback when he said to her in a loathing manner "I cant believe I have to share the same breathing air as you for the next 6 months"

Repenting for his actions with his tears and his incapability of saving his only lady-love, his wife, he felt useless for once in his life. He holds her hand and squeezes it while still facing the doctor.

Arnav: doctor, tell me, anything, something that can make her wake up again

Doc: I don't know, Mr. Raizada, She can definitely feel whats happening around her but she is afraid to come back, you need to convince her that its alright to let herself live, be happy for once. She needs to be conveyed the message that she is in safe hands, that she should not fear to open her eyes and live again.

Oh and remember, we can only put her on life support for 48 hours so after 3 days from now, if her condition doesn't improve, then she might ...Before doctor can say another word Arnav speaks: That's it doctor. You can go now

Doctor with a saddened face gets out of the room and Arnav goes to sit on the sofa and starts thinking of everything he had done in the past few days and the times when she first met him and how much he hurt her in Lucknow, office and how much he had humiliated her everywhere, ignoring all the happy bits they shared and crying.

Aman and Akash come in

Akash: Bhai, we looked everywhere for you

Arnav rubbing his eyes: I had to go somewhere

Akash: bhai, what did the doctor say?

Arnav explains what the doctor said to him and Aman, and they both instinctively go to the sofa and put their hands on his shoulder and give him comfort.

Arnav's bending, his head in his hands, still remembering all those moments where he told her she meant nothing to him a million times, and her sad face kept appearing in front of his face.

Aman: Sir, you need to remind Ma'am of all the happy moments you spent with her. I am sure that once you reconfirm to her that you love her a lot, she will come back sir.

Akash supports Aman: Yes Bhai, Aman is right. Right now, you need to be strong and forget everything else and just remember the happy moments. I know why Khushiji isn't coming back, she is scared to face the family again. She got your support after your marriage but her family and our family just left her which is why she is not coming back. You need to reassure to her that not just you, but everyone else loves her too. The doctor said she needs to be reminded of the love she got so she isn't afraid to live again. You need to bring back all the happiness and make her feel again all the happy times. Bhai I am sure you will be successful soon..

Arnav wipes his eyes, and raises his head looking at both Aman and Akash siting infront of him on the wooden table

Arnav gets up and walks to Khushis side, bends down and kisses on her cheek, hoping that she would remember that incident which made her go as pink as her dress.

Seeing this Aman and Akash both get up and get ready to leave

Akash: Bhai we should leave now. I will send driver with extra clothes for you for tonight...Do you need anything else? I will come back in the morning with Payalji with some breakfast. Are you sure you're not hungry now?

Arnav: Yes I am fine, See you tomorrow morning

Aman: Sir, if you need anything, please call me. I will come.

Arnav: I know Aman

They both turn around and Akash turns the handle to open the door, when Arnav speaks from behind

Arnav in tears filled eyes: Thank you guys..

Aman and Akash both nod and smile and leave.

Arnav standing beside Khushi's bed, her hand still in his, gently caressing her face, he bends down again so his face is very close to Khushi's. He doesn't kiss her, he just turns towards her left ear and whispers while sobbing "Khushi, Khushi I know you can hear me, and you are probably scared of me, but Khushi I want you to know, that I love you. Khushi I have always loved you, since you are the only girl in the whole world that can face me without fear, Khushi I want you to live with me like you did before our marriage, no constraints, no deceits, no lies. Khushi Please, wake up. I don't want to lose the only person in this world who isn't afraid of me. Khushi please, listen to me" now strongly squeezing her both hands, straightening up...Arnav cries , not sobs but actual cries, streams flowing down his eyes...and looking up towards the ceiling "YOU cant do this to me. I love her. I love her very very much. Please give her back to me. I want to repent for my mistakes. I cant see her dying.." Saying this, he just looses all hope and hugs her while she lays there sleeping, still the peaceful face, not moving.

Arnav holding her shoulders while hugging whispering "Khushi, please wake up, Khushi, you mean EVERYTHING to me. I lied everytime I said you mean nothing to me. Khushi...Khushi.." He doesn't sense any movement from her, he gets up and gets a chair and places it next to the bed and sits on it, holding her hand, still asking forgiveness from her, he falls asleep...

Sun's fresh, glowing, yellow rays fall on ASR's dull face and he gets up seeing Khushi..she is still lying in bed, not moving or anything, her hand still in his. He gets up, his eyes focussed on her face, caresses her face and places a kiss on her forehead and whispers "Good morning, Mrs. Raizada"...He turns around and sees a packet on the sofa: "The driver must have brought my clothes last night" he thinks and goes to pick up the bag and goes into the VIP washroom and gets fresh. When he comes out, he sees the nurse is just finishing up with freshening Khushi, holding the loose threads of Khushi's gown...He quickly goes and grabs them "I'll do it, you go" and takes over and takes Khushi in his embrace. Taking his breaths heavily as he ran from the bathroom, he would have made Khushi jump if she was conscious, he thinks, but now she is not responding. He runs his hands on her bare back and remembers NK's dirty eyes, and quickly does the back threads perfectly. Caressing her bare back, he saw bruises and his mind reminds him of the times he made her sleep on the floor in the poolside and suddenly tightens his embrace and whispers "Khushi, I am very sorry for what I did to you. I don't know what else to say than sorry, but Khushi I truly am. You should have been sleeping next to me, rather I made you sleep...and he sobs incontrollably. Spotting Payal and Akash entering from the front door, he puts Khushi down and covers her with a white blanket again up till her neck...

Akash: Good morning, Bhai. How is Khushiji today?

Arnav sighs and both Payal and Akash get the hint

Payal walks upto Khushi, Arnav moves away and Payal takes her hand in her hand and says "Khushi, I am very sorry for what I did to you. I know that you must have married Jethji if only there was a very important reason yet I mistreated you. I am very sorry Khushi but please talk to me...Seeing and caressing the bruises all over her left arm, she remembers the incident in the kitchen when she didn't believe Khushi and accused her...Payal cries, Akash quickly comes and grabs her and Payal holds his hand and gets up.

Payal to Arnav: We have brought the breakfast. You go and have breakfast with Akashji while I will sit with Khushi.

Arnav: No Payal, its fine, I'll sit with Khushi

Payal: But I want to, I want to ask for her forgiveness, please let me

Arnav: Payal just remember the doctor has said to remind her of the good moments from her life, don't remind her of the sad moments

After ordering Payal about what to say to Khushi, Arnav and Akash leave to have breakfast in the canteen.

Payal talks to Khushi about all the happy moments they spent, and thanks her for the wedding with Akash that couldn't have been possible without her.

Arnav-Akash talk about all the things, and Akash tells him that even Khushi's family is troubled and they keep asking about her. He tells him that they will be visiting today. Arnav tells him to keep everyone else in his family at home as he wants to wake up Khushi without all the melodrama happening in the hospital.

Arnav: Akash, I also have something else to tell you

Akash: yes bhai

Arnav tells Akash the whole story about what he saw between shyam and khushi and why he married her...then he gets out the iPhone and shows him the messages and tells him everything

Akash in a shocked state

Arnav: Did Payal ever tell you about Shyam's engagement with Khushi?

Akash: No Bhai

Arnav: Okay, can you please make sure that Shyam doesn't get to know about Khushi's state. I know he is out of town at the moment and in Lucknow, so can you please tell him to get that special cloth from Lucknow. I know it will take him atleast a week to arrange it all, but that's the only way I can keep him from coming back and knowing about Khushi. I will open his secret to everyone soon, but in my own way. I want to wake up Khushi first because hese three days will never come back and If I don't put in my 200% now, then I will always regret it. I just want to focus on her at the moment, I will deal with everyone later.

Akash, make sure you do this and explain to everyone at home that nothing about Khushi's accident should be revealed out to anyone, not even Shyam..Make up an excuse. Okay

Akash: "Okay Bhai"...still in shocked state..."So that's why Khushiji doesn't want to come back anymore. She has felt everyone's hatred so much for something that she didn't even do."

Arnav feeling guilty: "Yes Akash, its all my fault and that's why I want to settle it in my way. Please make sure nothing goes wrong in our plan."

Akash nods. They both walk to the room again and find Payal in the bathroom collecting Arnav's clothes putting in a bag.

Payal spotting AA brothers says: "I will go home and wash these"

Arnav and Akash just looking at her

Akash: Payal, we should go now, Bhai needs to be with Bhabhi, and I have something to say to you.

Payal walks over to Khushi, kisses her on her cheek and bids Arnav bye and they both leave.
