Akela, the next big show on Sony from BP Singh, producer of CID, is a suspense thriller of the supernatural kind. It is the story of a young policeman, Ranvir (Sudhanshu Pandey) and his friend Savio (Sumeet Raghavan) who meet with an accident that turns their lives upside down. While Savio dies in the crash, Ranvir goes into a coma. He recovers after eight years only to find that things around him have completely changed, including himself. His near fatal accident has given him extra sensory powers with which he can see crimes that are about to happen in the future. Not only that he can see and chat with the dead. He then decides to stop crimes from happening and solve those cases that have been closed because the people concerned with them are dead. He's helped in his mission by his 'ghost' of a friend Savio. Parallel to the suspense story runs the track of his love life where he finds his fiancee married to another man. It's about how he leads an isolated life amongst the living, but has friends from the Netherland. The serial will be aired every Tuesday at 10 pm from July 4.
