Interview : Miss Zing-ta clears herself!

Call Preity Zinta chirpy, talkative, chatty, she doesn't mind. But as soon as you mention to her about the rumours reeling about her marriage with Ness Wadia and her fight with Rani Mukherji on the sets of 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' she fumes up. What is the truth about all these talks, let's find it out from Miss Zing-ta itself!

Excerpts from an interview:

Are you tying the knot with boyfriend Ness Wadia by the end of this year?

Hey these are just rumours, don't bother with them. There are so many actresses in the industry, I don't understand what the rumormongers eyes are on me always. They are after my marriage and me. (Laughs)

So when are your plans of getting married?

According to me marriage is a very beautiful thing. Marriage is a relation that I would want to last forever, just like it is with my parents. For kids it's wonderful to grow up in a marriage like that. For me too I seek security in my family, my marriage and in my children.

Do you think that you can essay the role of a housewife perfectly?

I'm sure that I'll be a good housewife. If you put your 100 per cent in anything you do, the end result has to be superb. I've become a good actor on the strength of my efforts and also about other aspects of my life, I'm as much passionate. But I don't think that I can observe karva chauth and all, once I tried it when I was nine years old and fainted in between.

What do you have to say about your romance with Ness Wadia?

That's very personal! I don't wish to make news telling about it. I've honestly come out with my confessions before but a section of the media took it for granted. They've taught me that I shouldn't be so honest and candid about my life. If I say I'm dating some one people here assume about my marriage. And I'm upset with such proceedings. Today I am bored of talking about my relationship with Ness. There is also my career to talk about. See I'm not an immature sixteen-year girl. At my age I cannot be playful about love and make mistakes. Being mature today I think before I act and take the depth of my being into consideration. I am very happy with the person I am today and the person I am with.

Okay then lets talk about films. The promos of Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna are catching attention.

As we all know Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna has been shot in London and Karan has given a different treatment to this in comparison to the former films that he has made. The subject and script is very different.

There were some panicky situations with Rani on the set of Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna.

All these talks are absolutely rubbish. Rani is a very good actor and when you work with her you always strive to reach for an equally good performance. It's the film that benefits from it. I feel that both Rani and me will make each other look good with our performances in the film. We share a very good relation and have worked in so many films together. Our pair clicks and I enjoy working with her.

What about Shah Rukh and Abhishek your other co-stars in the film?

Shah Rukh is a typical Scorpion and is very intense. I've a different equation with Shah Rukh. When I entered this industry he was already a big star. Abhishek is an Aquarian like me, absolutely crazy and you know he talks much more than me. He is someone who backslaps you and has fun with you. He is a great performer too.

And how was the experience working in Shirish Kunder's Jaaneman?

Shirish talks less but he is very much focused on his work. He has a particular mind set about a shot and I used to eat his mind questioning him about them. This is his first film and I'm happy to be a part of it. The film will be a surprise for a lot of people.

You're getting back together again with Bobby Deol after so many years in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Are you excited about the film?

Truly I'm very excited about getting together with him after Soldier. He is a very good friend of mine and he is also a terrific actor.
