Part 29

PRECAP- Geet had some other plans in her mind... Since the date, she had decided that now, its time to let Maan know what she feels and why she took so much time to tell this to him... Her work in KC was now done and she will not require going and working in KC... So, whatever be the consequences, she will be ready to accept it however hard it is... IT'S TIME FOR SHOWDOWN...!!!!

After a few days, Geet told Maan that her work at KC is done and she won't be coming from now onwards to KC... Maan was not happy with this, but it was work and he can't stop her... After telling this, they had a light chat like good friends, but both were sad from inside to let go each other... Later, Geet left to her office and as soon as she reached there, she started planning everything to let Maan know... She noticed one thing, that during the date both had so much time that they, rather Maan could have proposed her in his own way, but his understanding and trust towards her was so immense that he didn't do it... With this realisation, Geet felt a bit guilty to hide this from him for so long... His love is not based on all these things, he loved her genuinely...

Geet still didn't know what would be the outcome of this revelation, but she cant hide it anymore from him... Its not what she ever wanted to happen but it was pre-decided by God to bring them together in a different way, but will they be together, she was not sure... But that does not mean that she will not try to present her side to him, then whatever happens would be wholly and solely Maan's decision... But somewhere, at a corner of her heart and mind too, she was very much positive that Maan would understand her... But still, the amount of information she knew about him was too much... She was not sure if DJ knew about all the memories she had, but then she had decided that she will not tell it to anyone before Maan... So now, she was prepared mentally to take in whatever comes, but emotionally, she was not sure... She was very nervous... She used to think every day, what she will tell him, how she will make him understand what she went through...

Yes, she got the solution and all the possible ways to make him understand... She planned everything in her capability, all romantic to confess her love, but will that work after he knows about the truth... This fear always lingered in her mind... But that never stopped her... She was a strong girl since her childhood, but this kind of problem never arouse... So she didn't know how will she tackle it, but one thing was sure, she will not lose hopes even before trying, she is definitely not that kind of girl to crib without trying...

IN ALL THIS, SHE FORGOT ONE THING... SHE FORGOT TO THINK, WHAT EFFECT WILL IT CAUSE ON MAAN, WHEN ALL HIS PAST WILL COME IN FRONT OF HIM FROM SOMEONE ELSE... THE THINGS AND MEMORIES, HE WAS TRYING TO FORGET; WILL AGAIN COME IN FRONT OF HIM, IN A VERY UNUSUAL MANNER... SHE FORGOT TO THINK ABOUT HIM, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING...

But again, she didn't know, what he had gone through after that, she just got his memories and nothing else... It took a lot of time and courage to get back to normal after witnessing such a horrible scene in front of his innocent eyes...Now Geet was all set to go ahead with her idea...

After almost 2 weeks, GEET sent a letter to Maan... She gave the letter herself to the watchman and told him to deliver it to Maan and not to give it to anyone else... Fortunately. Maan was in office at that time, well Geet sent the letter only after confirming that he is in the office... The watchman went and gave the letter to Maan... First, Maan was confused as to who sent the letter and why did the watchman deliver it... The envelope was blank, so he couldn't understand who might have sent it to him... He was all the more confused, when he read the name on the letter... Geet ne mujhe aisa letter kyu bheja hai, she would have called me and spoke... This is unusual of her, he thought... He read the letter...

Dear Maan,

Mujhe pyaar bhara letter likhne to nahi aata but iss letter ke zariye me tumse milne ki request karna chahti hu... Mujhe abhi call mat karna, bas aaj shaam 8 baje The Taj Heritage me mujhse milne aa jaana... Aaj mein tumse vo baat kehena chahti hu jiske vajahse mene tumse, naa chahte hue bhi, dooriya banaye rahki...

Tumhari Geet...

Maan was overwhelmed and more confused at the same time... So she alas decided to talk to me... Well, this was very unusual of u, Geet, but I love it... So now, we are going to take one more step ahead with this... But what is that she wants to tell me... Well let's see, what it's gonna be... Here I come Geet, he thought with a very large smile on his face... He was very happy to know that Geet wanted to take their relation further; well she was going to one day, but this early, he was not sure... Shayad uss date ka effect hai, wah Maan, tune to usse bina kuch kahe bohot kuch keh diya... He patted himself for this... But least did he know, that there was a very big storm waiting for him...

At around 7. 45pm, Maan was at the entrance of the grand Taj Heritage... This hotel has become a memorial since the 26/11 attack... But it was rebuilt in a span of some months due its popularity and its beautiful view and ambiance...

THE TAJ HERITAGE, MUMBAI

Maan had reached early as he couldn't control his excitement... Also, he has never been late uptil now, be it any meetings or a simple meet with friends...He went to the reception and told his name, Maan Singh Khurana... The receptionist called the bell boy and told him to direct Maan to Luxury Room no. 4... Maan patiently followed the bell boy, and thanked him as soon as he reached at the doorstep of the room... He knocked at the door and waited for it to be opened by Geet... Geet opened the door only to look at a stunning looking Maan... Well, he looked handsome all the time, but today, he looked extra handsome than everyday... While Maan, on the other hand, was stunned to look at Geet wearing a saree... She was looking very beautiful... Both were staring at each other, but soon turned their gazes to avoid the awkwardness...

Geet made way to let Maan in... The room was decorated very beautifully... Both were looking here and there, avoiding looking at each other... trying to avoid the silence, Maan said,

Maan- letter ka style acha tha, but call karke bhi bula sakti thi tum...

Geet- utna courage hota to tumse aake hi baat na karti mein...

Maan- aare wah, Geet Handa ko darr bhi lagta hai... He tried to joke, but Geet expression din't change an inch...

Geet- baitho Maan, aisi vaisi baat nahi hai yeh, jo mein tumse kehene waali hu...

Maan- Geet, ab tum mujhe dara rahi ho... Kya baat hai, jisko kehene se tum itna darr rahi ho??

Geet- Maan, shayad yeh sunke tum mujhe pagal samjhoge, but jo me kehene waali hu, vahi sach hai, tum maano yaa naa maano...

Maan- Geet, mein yaha kuch aur hi sochke aaya tha... par tumhari baatein sunke mujhe ajeeb lag rahah hai... plzzz mujhe batao kya baat hai???

Geet- Maan, mujhe tumhari memories mili hai, tumhari blood ke zariye...

Maan- kya??!!! Maan was 1st shocked to hear what Geet said, and then started laughing hysterically... Geet, tumhe pata bhi hai tum kya keh rahi ho... Aisa kaise ho sakta hai...

Geet- Maan, mere accident ke time, tumne jo mujhe blood donate kiya tha, uske zariye mujhe tumhari memories mili hai... Pehele, mujhe bhi yakeen nahi hua tha, kyunki mein tab tumhe nahi jaanti thi... But later, jab hum ek saath kaam karne lage, all started making sense...

Maan- this can't be possible Geet... tum kuch aur chupane ke liye yeh story bana rahi ho... Do you think I m such a fool...What is it that you are hiding??? Maan was furious now, to listen to her utter nonsense lie... No one will believe something like this...

Geet- ok, if you don't trust what I say, then see these reports and some research that I have done after knowing this... You can also talk to Dr. Nidhi if you want, but this is what has happened to me...

Maan- ye mein kaise maan lu ki you have my memories in this way only and not by some detective you would have sent behind me... (Maan's expression changed like something struck him...) ohh, abb pata chala, why you always had to speak when I used to talk about my past... You surely paid some detective agency to follow me and know everything about my past... But, why did you do this, Geet??? What do you want from me??? I have always loved you, since the day I saw you, during that accident...

Geet, her eyes filled up- Maan, why would I do something like this, when I myself love you, that's why I called you here to tell you that I Love you damnit... But this thing always came between you and me... What do you think, was it easy for me to bear the memories of some person whom I didn't even know...? If I wouldn't have accepted to work with you, I would have never come to know that something like this was happening to me and those memories were yours... All started making sense, when we both came closer...

Maan was happy to know that even she loves him, but then this happiness was short lived...

Maan- I still can't believe that you got my memories...(again something struck him) that is why you got on so well with Annie and DJ...Geet, if you think you can play with me and my family, then you are truly mistaken... I will bear anything but not when it comes to DJ and Annie... You have just seen the good side of me... When I m good, I m good; but when I m bad, I m even better...

Geet- Maan, Annie and DJ also matter me a lot and I can never think to hurt them... They are my life too like my parents and sis... Ok, if you don't believe, then just rewind back to the time whenever I said something related to your past... all these things are quite near to your heart and such memories can never be known to the outer world about your childhood... That day, I said about you asking a silly question to your professor, will you tell such things to any other person or a reporter about yourself... I talked about DJ's importance in your life, will you tell anyone such personal things...

Maan was quite for a while, he was still not able to believe what Geet said, but what she said now is also logical... He will not tell such things to any person who's not very dear to him... But still this thing is unacceptable... How the hell can anyone receive his memories and that too from blood transfusion... Seeing him silent, Geet knew that he is still not able to believe what she is saying, and why would he believe, it's not easy to digest such knowledge... Geet at last decided that she should talk about his parents...

Geet- If you still don't believe all this, then I even know something else that I think even DJ has been lied about...

Maan, very well got the hint what she would be talking about... He shot his gaze towards Geet, his eyes blood red, full of anger... Maan started stepping towards Geet... Geet got a little afraid looking at his eyes and started stepping behind...

Maan- what is it????

Geet- about your parents... They didn't die in an accident...It is something...

He didn't even let her complete... He held her by her shoulders and banged her on the wall...

Maan- Don't you dare utter one more word from your mouth... you don't know anything about it... you don't know, what I went through at that time... you don't know, how I have been living my life after that dreadful night... YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING DAMNIT... He screamed at the top of his voice... He left her and thumped on the bed, trying to control his rage, his anger, his tears, his memories that had been haunting him day and night since the past 14 years... His head resting on his hands, trying to control his tears and all the more his anger...

Geet was totally petrified with what just happened... She knew that whatever it was, was not good at all, she had seen it in her dreams, but she couldn't understand Maan's dilemma... Seeing in dreams and seeing in reality are 2 different things... Reality is harsher than dreams... She didn't know and will never know what he went through...

Maan, gathering himself- I m going now... Don't try to contact me till I don't contact you...

Geet was flabbergasted by his words... She didn't expect it to turn out like this... Before she could say anything, Maan walked out of the room, not even once looking at her... He went towards his car and drove back to KM and directly went to his room and into the bathroom... He stood below the cold shower to wash off the past... All the memories rushing back to him like they had occurred yesterday...

---FLASHBACK---

Raj, Mamta and Maan, 12 yrs old then, were out at their farmhouse for some days, just to relax and have a small vacation... DJ and Annie did not come as DJ wanted them to enjoy... Maan also was not supposed to go but his nonstop tantrums made Mamta to take him with them... He was happily playing in the pool when the maid handed an envelope to Mamta and her facial expressions changed... Mamta changed her expression with a smile to let Maan know that there was nothing wrong... She knew Maan was sharper than the children of his age, he would notice the shift in her mood, but that day she was able to hide her problem from Maan... He didn't ask her what the matter was... Maan was busy playing in the pool... He just saw the maid person entering and exiting from the pool area...

Later that night, he heard some noises coming from downstairs; he was on the first floor in his room... Mamta and Raj were arguing... He couldn't believe it... He had never seen them arguing... He hid himself behind the railing of the staircase and heard and saw the whole conversation...

Mamta- Raj, what is all this??? I trusted you all the time... I didn't believe these pictures when I got them in the morning... But I want to hear it from you... Mamta was crying hysterically...

Raj- Mamta, plzz don't say that, love and plzz don't cry... I cant bear those tears in your eyes... I didn't do anything, I don't know when all this happened... And these pictures, I don't know who sent them to you and how did that person know, that we are here...

Mamta- What do you want to say Raj???

Raj- Mamta, I did go to meet Sumi that day, but I didn't intend to do this... I went to tell her that she holds no importance in my life after I married you... You are my love, after she left me in the critical situation of my life... You were the one who helped and supported me in my bad times and from that day she didn't exist in my life... I don't know why she wanted to meet me... But seeing these pictures, I think she spiked my drink and posed all these just to make you believe that I did all these with her... But plzz Mamta trust me, I didn't do anything with her... These are not true at all... I very well remember the next day even though my head throbbed due to the pain, the drug caused me...

Mamta could see truth in Raj's eyes... His eyes spoke a lot, just like Maan's... She could see his love and truth in the pair of deep black ocean of his eyes... She had drowned in them when she fell in love with him... Mamta was standing and Raj was kneeling in front of her, telling her all this... Mamta kept her hand on his cheeks, letting him know that she velieved him... She too sat down and hugged him dearly...

Mamta- I trust you Raj... I have trusted you then, and I trust you now too... No Sumi or Mimi can break that... I have loved the man who had told me the truth of his past before marrying me, the man who gave me 2 beautiful children, the reason for me to live my life happily, the man whose idol of his children... I have loved you then and I love you now, even after so many years of our marriage... My love and trust on you has never reduced... I will not believe such crap photos when I know that my friend, my love, my husband is saying the truth which is visible in his eyes and also his words...

Raj was stunned with the amount of love Mamta had for him... He was indeed very lucky man to have a wife like Mamta... She had done many sacrifices for him, loved him in whichever manner he kept her... He was not rich when Mamta married him... She came into his life with all the luck for him... She was his lucky charm... Both hugged each other more and more...

Raj- I Love You Mumu...

Mamta- I Love You Raju...

Maan who was witnessing all this, was crying and laughing at the same time, listening to their names... He held his mouth to reduce the sound of his laugh... He then decided to go upstairs and let them have their moment of love, but some noise made him wait...

When Mamta and Raj were hugging each other, they heard someone clapping and came out of their hug... They got up to see who it was and were shocked to see Sumi there...

Raj- Sumi, what the hell are you doing here??? And how did you know we are here...???

Sumi- ohh c'mon, Raj darling, you don't need act in front of this bitch...

Raj- DONT YOU DARE say anything to her, Sumi... She's my wife, you are talking about... I had told you already that you hold no importance in my life... now just get lost before I forget that you are a woman and do something disgraceful...

Sumi- I have not come to see your budding love Raj... I m here to kill this bitch... If I don't get you, then no one will get you...

She held the pistol out and pointed at Mamta... Both, Raj and Mamta were shocked to see a Sumi's madness...

Raj- Sumi, have you lost your mind..!!!! Plzz put that gun down and listen to me... Still, nothing has gone wrong... You can still find a good companion for yourself, who will love you to bits...

He tried to pacify her, walking towards her to divert her mind... But before, he could do anything, she fired at Mamta... But Raj managed to come in the shot, and it hit him to his shoulder...

Mamta- Raaajjj... She was shocked to the core...

Before Sumi could hit the trigger again, Raj held the pistol, Sumi was holding... He tried to snatch it from her, but she had a tight grip to it... He was trying to pull it from her hand when the trigger got pulled by Sumi... He was still trying to pull it out of her hand, not looking where the bullet hit... The trigger got pulled, twice in all this process of getting it out of Sumi's hands... All in all, four bullets were shot in all this process...

Maan saw all this... He was first petrified seeing all this to interfere... But seeing his dad hurt, he got up from his position and started to get down... He heard the 2nd shot when he was getting down... He ran to his mom who was now falling down... He didn't know why she was falling down... He held her falling mother... Till he could manage Mamta, he heard 2 more shots in a matter of milliseconds... He saw up, to see who got hit and at the same time both, Raj and Sumi fell down... All of this happened so fast, that Maan couldn't manage to handle the situation... All the 3 were lying down in the pool of blood...

Mamta- Maan, see your dad... Go Maan...

Maan just shook his heas in positive and went towards Raj...

Maan- Dad... Dad... Are you all right??? That's all, he could ask...

Raj- Son, help me to reach your mom...plzz Maan...

Maan again shook his head and managed to literally drag his dad to his mom... He couldn't lift Raj... He made his father lie besides his mom and he sat between both of them...

Raj- Mamta... Mamta, talk to me, plzzz... His hand on her stomach... He felt something wet and he raised his hand, just to see blood on his hand... The second bullet hit Mamta in her stomach... Raj was now totally out of his mind...

Raj- Mamta... She very drowsily opened her eyes to see Raj and Man besides... She gave a smile to both of them...

Mamta- Raj, my time has come to leave you... plzz take care of our children... She kept her hand on his shoulder... Raj winced and Mamta realised he was hit too, but didn't know that he was hit with 2 bullets...

Raj- I m also coming with you sweetheart... He pointed to his rib cage where the other bullet was hit... Mamta was now worried...

Maan was listening to both of them...

Maan- Mom, Dad, are you both ok??? Now Maan could see a lot of blood all around the hall and got that the situation is out of his capability... He has now started sobbing... Mamta and Raj, both held his hands...

Mamta- Maan bte, promise us that you will take good care of your sister and DJ... Plzzz don't ever let them get hurt and protect them in all your capability... Promise me son...

Maan, fully crying now- I promise Maa...

Raj- and also promise one more thing Maan... Plzz don't tell Maa, how we died, she wont be able to bear it... Tell her that we died in a car accident, but don't let her know this scene ever Maan... I know I m expecting too much from my little boy, but I know you will not let me down ever... Promise son...

Maan- Yes Dad, I will never let you down... I will never let DJ know what happened over here...

Raj- That's my boy, brave boy... Now plzzz call Malhotra uncle from my cell and call him here... and also tell him that he will not let anything out of this room... It would just be between him and you... got my boy...

Maan- yes Dad...

Mamta- Love you, beta... never ever feel that we left you... We will always be with you, looking at you whenever you need us... And never let yourself fall weak in life, and never hold and regrets with what happened here... Whatever happened today is fate's decision... Everything will happen, as per fate and destiny decides... It's never in your hands sweetheart...

Raj- And the most important thing boy, never let your trust on your loved ones go away till the time you hear it from them... Never keep misunderstandings to yourself and complicate a simple relation... Fate has its own ways to bring in someone in your life and also throw them out of your life... Never let yourself believe that there's no love around... Whenever you feel lonely, DJ will be around you, and we are always there for you my son... Close your eyes and remember us, and we will be there for you... Never let yourself feel that you are alone... Always keep smiling and spread smiles around... You never know, when someone will fall for your sweet smile...

Mamta and Raj both smiled looking at their kid son, who had to face such a horrible situation all alone... The touched his head, blessed him, held each others' hand, smiled looking at each other and closed their eyes forever... They both died smilingly, loving each other, in true sense, dying for each other...

Maan was left all alone at that moment... But his Dad's words rang in his ears,"never fell yourself alone"... He cried and smiled looking at his mom and dad peacefully leaving this world hand in hand, smiling... He was fortunate to have such wonderful parents... He sat with them for some more time... He then realised that he was alone in this big house... He took out his Dad's cell and called Mr. Malhotra, his dad's best friend... Malhotra came and hugged the little boy, looking at the whole bloody situation... Maan told him everything... Mr. Malhotra was astounded to see the calmness Maan had in him... He was indded Raj's brave son, Malhotra thought...
