Sonal hails from Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh. After obtaining her formal education at Noida and Delhi, she went on to become the first Indian to pick up the coveted title of Miss World Tourism in2005, at an event held in Malaysia. She then started her modeling career by appearing various ads and also ramp walking for many notable Indian fashion designers. Sonal has walked the ramp for Indian Jewelry week and Lakme Fashion week. She has also appeared on the cover page of the leading magazine Maxim.

Though Jannat was her first appearance in bollywood, she had already made her on screen debut opposite Himesh Reshammiya in his music video for the Aap Ka Suroor album. Sonal has now bagged various offers down south after her smashing performance in Jannat and Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap.
