Babuji is dialling the phone and calls Mr Lalvani to come to his office to have a chat. Mama and Mami come slithering into the room, so when Babuji turns around hes startled to see them. They tell Babuji ''we have come to take our leave considering Malini is dead, we have no reason to stay here anymore, as her return was the reason we were staying here in the first place''. Babuji gently agrees with them and tells them to leave their address before they leave. Babuji starts leaving while Mama and Mami look surprised by Babuji's remark (their plan backfired). Mama hesitates but then says that theres a slight problem. Babuji asks and they say that their village was destroyed in an earthquake so they have no address and no place to go back to. Mama continues to say that they will find something to do in Mumbai and they will go live in a waterpipe and will give Babuji the address of their waterpipe. Babuji laughs and says ''waterpipe? haha... no no you can stay here as you are our relatives after all''. Mama says ok but he says he wont stay here unless he can do something for Babuji, he asks Babuji for some sort of work/job. Babuji says he'll arrange it. Mama continues to say that Mami can also work as Meghas maid. Babuji leaves. Mami shouts at Mama asking him why he had to add that she play Meghas maid! Mama tells her that she must get close to Megha as Rimjhim grows more distant from Megha. Mami understands.

Rakesh arrives home drunk, Rimjhim and Yashoda look at him unimpressed. Yashoda asks him why he drank again!! Rakesh drunkingly tells her that hes flying high on success today! He tells her that his business ideas went down great and hes become so popular amongst business ppl now. He says that they even held a massive party for him. Rakesh drunkingly talks about his hunger for power and he says he wants to be on the top and he will be on the top! Yashoda tells him that he just got out of jail so he should steady on. He dismisses Yashodas advice and says that he made one mistake in the past and he doesnt need reminding of it all the time. Yashoda reminds him of Babuji's wise words ''You must progress through life with your ideals and principles intact''. Babuji sees them from afar. Rakesh tells Yashoda to stuff Babuji's old fashioned middle class advice because it doesnt apply in this day and age. Babuji looks hurt. Rakesh goes off and Yashoda follows. Rimjhim spots Babuji.

Babuji looks hurt. Rimjhim finds him and tells him that he shouldnt take Rakeshs words to heart as hes just not in his right mind right now...hes stressed and he'll come round soon. Babuji tells Rimjhim that he isnt hurt by what Rakesh said about him but hes hurt about how Rakesh thinks about his life right now. Babuji thinks that if he thinks that taking short cuts will give him success then he'll be at the bottom of the barrel again. Babuji tells Rimjhim that Rakeshs old company has been sold off and his thoughts are way off base.

Yashoda looks at the newspaper article where Rakesh and his female boss are posing together. Yashoda is unhappy. Rimjhim comes along and asks her whats up. Yashoda shows her the article. Rimjhim is overjoyed to see an article about Rakesh and she thinks that Rakesh has become so popular! Yashoda tells her to look at the picture. Rimjhim gets even happier and excited to see the picture and says Rakesh looks so handsome and its all because of him that 'Suri and company' have shooted into the limelight. Yashoda tells her to look at whos beside him. Rimjhim says its Mohini Suri (Rakeshs female boss). Yashoda stands looks jealous whilst Rimjhim sits and makes fun of her. She asks her if shes getting jealous. Yashoda batters her eye lids and tells her that who does Mohini think she is with this short hair and those clothes. Rimjhim tells her that no one can compare to her bhabhi! Then Rimjhim comes behind Yashoda to put the newspaper infront of her face and tell her that this Mohini is beautiful. Yashoda takes Rimjhim teasings' lightheartly. Babuji comes home looking very tired and upset. Rimjhim and Yashoda stop smiling together and suddenly get sad as they see him. They come along and ask him whats up. He tells Yashoda to call Rakesh home from work and tells Rimjhim to get him water. Babuji says he has some bad news

The whole family are gathered in the main room and Babuji is standing stern as Rakesh arrives home everyone asks whats going on. Babuji reveals that he went to see Lalvani the lawyer and they had a long discussion. Apparently Rakesh will be acquited and freed however he will have to pay 5 crore in penalty otherwise its 7 years in jail for him. Everyone worries and Yashoda weeps. Everyone wonders helplessly as to how they will arrange all that money. Kaveri says she might be able to get her mother Naina-devi to help out. Babuji says that he will figure out a way to get the money.
