Part 19
Sameera too was shocked seeing Maan, but her face lit up seeing Geet which was totally unexpected. She came forward, hugged Geet and told, "Oh Geet, I am so happy to meet you after a long time. Good to know that you are Mrs. Khurana."
Mr. Chopra and Vivek were surprised that she knew Geet. Vivek knew that she was Maan's ex-fiance but Geet, he didn't expect either. Geet didn't know how to react but she reciprocated the hug and told, "Pleased to meet you after a long time."
This was not what she expected Sameera to be. She expected her to be a shrewd, wicked person who played with Maan's feelings for her career. But she seems to be genuinely happy and not even a bit affected by the fact that she is Maan's wife.
Maan was fuming inside but kept his cool outside and shook hands with Vivek but not once did he spare a glance for Sameera. He was enraged when Sameera hugged Geet and talked as if nothing was there between them once.
Sameera turned to Vivek and told, "Vivek, Geet was my junior in IIT." Vivek came forward and told, "It is a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Khurana. I have been hearing about you all the time since the last two weeks from papa. Your design was indeed impressive. Congrats."
Geet smiled and conveyed her thanks. Mr.Chopra was pleased about the encounter and ushered Maan and Geet to meet some other business partners. Maan was more than willing. If he spends some more time near them he could have definitely not controlled his anger.
Sameera and Vivek watched them from far. Vivek told, "A volcano is bursting inside him. He may never forgive you." Sameera held his hand and told, "I know Vivek. But now I'm free from the burden I have been carrying for long. She is the best partner he could ever get in his life. They are just perfect for each other." Vivek side hugged her and told, "Just like us." Sameera smiled keeping her head in his shoulder and told, "I think I should at least talk to her."
Maan lost his peace of mind ever since he saw Sameera. She seemed really happy and not affected by his presence. How could she be? He was no longer in a mood to be in the party. Like understanding his turmoil Geet held his hand as if assuring him. He looked at her and saw concern in her eyes that made him forget his tensions for a while. Just then Ayan and Meera made their way towards them.
Meera asked to Maan, "Can I steal your beautiful wife for sometime?" Maan wanted her near but he nodded taking his hand out of hers. Geet was not willing to leave him but he with his eyes assured that he is fine and Meera dragged her to their group.
Ayan turned to Maan and told, "Maan, I didn't know about her. If so then we couldn't have to go forward with this deal." Maan replied immediately, "Ayan, we never have to mix our personal and professional lives. And also I don't have any feelings for her except immense hatred. I won't let her affect me anymore." Ayan was tensed after their encounter with Sameera but was happy that he is not hurt. Both of them made their way towards others.
When Geet was near her team all were having grumpy faces. She immediately held her ears and told, "Sorry, sorry for keeping you in dark. I hated attention and so I wanted to keep a low profile. I wanted to be a normal person just like you. Sorry if I hurt you." She made a baby face. Who won't melt with her cute apology?
Pari immediately went and hugged her. "Oh Geet, hum tho sirf mazak kar rahe the. Who can be angry with a sweet person like you? Hume pata he tum kaisi he. Chodo.. Ahh.. Meine tumhe dreamy dreamy karke kya kya nahi bola. Oh my God.. It is so embarrassing." Everyone burst into laugh hearing Pari's melodrama. All the team mates congratulated her and started demanding for treat.
Ayan and Maan were watching all these while talking to some of their clients. Ayan told after sometime, "I sometimes wonder how she can take things so easily. Ever since I know her I have never heard her complaining over something. You know Maan, I was the one suggested dadima her name when she started searching a girl for you. She was very pleased when she met Geet once with Dev and Meera. I knew she is the one for you. I never got good vibes from Sameera ever since you were in a relation but couldn't tell you as you were so adamant in your decision. But I'm happy now that you have got the right person."
Just then someone called Ayan and he left Maan who was lost in his thoughts. His heart wanted to believe her. He had seen genuine concern in her face after meeting Sameera. She was worried for him and she never wanted to leave his side. And he saw how easily she mingled with her team, how easily she handled people. Even Sameera, she returned her gesture without hesitation.
His thoughts were interrupted when the lights went dim. Mr. Chopra announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to enjoy the party, let us lit up the dance floor. I want to invite Mrs and Mr MSK to have their gracious presence out here."
Geet was tensed as to what will happen. She was sure that Maan may never want to dance with her. But she was startled when a hand held her from her shoulder. She turned and saw Maan with his right hand held towards her. She placed her hand and Maan ushered her to the dance floor. There were oohs and aahs all around them.
He brought her in the dance floor. She looked up and saw his eyes held something that she never got to see before. She couldn't fathom what it was but she just wanted to drown in those eyes and take in their moment together.
Maan looked into her eyes. At that moment he could only think of those innocent eyes which demanded nothing but was flooded with love and concern which he could never read till now.
The music started.. "Kurbaan hua.."
He held her by her waist and took her hand in his. She placed her free hand in his chest. Geet felt she will faint with his closeness and the look in his eyes. His hand snaking her bare waist was creating Goosebumps all over her body. The smell of his cologne was creating havoc in her senses.
Maan could feel the softness of the skin in her waist. She smelled heavenly. He couldn't identify her perfume but she was fresh as dew. He felt a need to hold her closer like this forever. She was only his, she loves him. The thought gave him a strange contentment. But he is not going to let her know it until he got to trust her fully.

They gracefully danced with the song. Geet complimented each of his moves. She perfectly fitted in his arms. The passion in his eyes was clearly visible to her. She noticed him being little aggressive in his moves. She searched his eyes for the reason and saw the passion was replaced by anger and is constantly looking in a direction.

She looked in the same direction to find Sameera dancing with Vivek. They both seemed to be happy and less affected by anyone around. Geet slowly pressed his hand which made him look into her eyes. She nodded for a no and he understood her concern and gestures. He looked deep into her eyes which were filled with love. Everything else vanished from his mind and danced passionately with her.

They both were lost in each other's eyes when the clapping brought them back to senses. They noticed that others had stopped dancing longback and were staring at them..
Both of them were embarrassed for getting lost like that. Mr. Chopra came forward and told, "You both were wonderful. I must say made for each other." Everyone came and complimented them. Geet went to her team when Maan started talking with his clients. They all complimented them and started teasing her. She couldn't help but blush. She noticed Sasha standing in a side fuming. She felt bad for her, her ministrations will anyway go waste as Maan will never be interested in her.
Her eyes searched for Sameera and found her talking with some of their business partners with Vivek by her side. She seemed cool and composed. Not a slight pang of jealousy was seen in her eyes. She felt she saw a glimpse of guilt in her eyes once when her eyes caught Maan. Why everything makes her think that there is something more in their break-up. Did she know anything about their night together? Is she the reason for their break-up?
Hi dearies, I hope you liked the update.. I am not very good in describing dance moves, so just imagine our maaneet in kurbaan hua sequence.. And one more part coming up in few hours.. 😊
