Part 18

After a while almost all had left the office... Suraj told Maan about his exit and he left too... Suraj din't tell Maan that Geet is still in office... He thought Maan would be knowing... Maan wasn't aware that Geet was still in office... He thought she would have gone too...

AlmOst at 8pm, Maan wrapped his work and was leaving... While leaving, he turned to Geet's cabin only to satisfy himself that she would come tomorrow as well... But when he saw her still working, he wanted to go and give her a piece of mind...

Maan walked towards her cabin and barged in...

Maan- Hadd hoti hai Geet... Ek hi din me saara kaam khatam karna hai kya tumhe...

Geet, without looking up- hmmm...

Maan- what...!!! She didn't even look up at me, what the hell is this, Maan thought... His anger increased with her carelessness... He went near her and snatched the file she was working on and banged it on her desk...

Geet was so lost in the file that she din't register what Maan said, and had answered absentmindedly... When Maan banged the file, she was shocked...

Geet- What it is Maan??? I was working on it...

Maan- oh yaa, I can see that... You are so engrossed in it that you didn't even see that I have come and was talking to you... If you are going to work in such a way, then I will not let you in my office... Kaam karne ki bhi ek had hoti hai... pura office khaali ho chukka hai and you are still here... and now don't tell me that you don't know what time it is...!!!

Geet-umm... She actually didn't know what was the time... Sorry Maan... She tried making a pleading face and calm him down... But Maan was nowhere to listen...

Maan- Geet, you are the limit mahn... Me bhi kaam karta hu, but not so much that I forget the surroundings... Mera to thik hai, ghar pe pata hota hai ki mein kaha hu... Does anyone at your place know my office??? Have you called your mom and told her that you would be late??? Maan was totally angry now... He didn't like such carelessness and after what had already happened with her, the accident fiasco, he knew that everyone would get worried...

Geet on the other hand, was totally cornered by Maan's anger... and to top it all, she hadn't called Rano to tell that she would be late, as she told TJ... and if she now told Maan that she hadn't then he would definitely kill her... She started searching for reasons... But Maan had already known that she wouldn't have called at home...

Maan- don't search for reasons Geet, I m sure, tumne call nahi kiya hoga...

Geet- how do you know??? Kahi tumhe bhi to meri memories aur thinking to nahi mili na...???

Ohh no, she slapped herself mentally for what she had said... Geet, ye tune kya keh diya... ab ye tujhe hazaar sawal puchega... and how are you going to explain him.. jaldi se kuch soch, before he starts bombarding you...

Here Maan was confused at what Geet had said... Ye ladki sach me pagal hai, kuch bhi bolti rehti hai aur mera dimag ghuma deti hai... mein isse kya keh raha tha aur ye kya keh rahi hai... Before Maan could ask about what she said, Geet's bulb lit up, she stood up and sat again at her place holding her hurt leg...

Geet- aahhh... Maan...

Maan, looking at her expression and seeing her bent down to hold her leg, thought she had hurt her leg again... All his anger and questions died and he got concerned about her... He went to her and bent down to see her leg...

Maan- kya hua Geet... Kya karti rehti ho tum??? Isliye kehta hu dekh ke kuch bhi kiya karo...

Geet- Maan, I was getting up and hit it to the side of the table... aaaooo, its hurting...

Geet had thought of diverting Maan's attention from her carelessness but she had actually hurt her foot while just pretending and it was also paining bcoz of her sitting in one postion for so many hours... so in a way she was not acting at all...

Maan looked at her face to see if it was hurting her badly, coz the first expression he saw wasn't convincing that she was hurt, he thought she was pretending, but her later expression made it clear that she wasn't kiddin at all... abb, jo bacha kucha gussa tha vo bhi chala gaya, and all worry clouded his mind... She might be too much hurt...

Maan- Geet, chalo hospital chalte hai... I guess, you have hurt it again...

Geet- no Maan, its fine.. I did hurt it, but not that much that I should go to the hospital...

Maan- Chup, bilkul chup... Mene tumhe pucha nahi hai, mene tumhe bataya hai ki hum hospital jaa rahe hai...

He got up and held her to get up but unfortunately Geet was not able to keep the foot on the ground... She couldn't stand so she sat back in her chair... She first looked at Maan and then looked down looking at his expression, and Maan looked at her with i-told-you-so expression... He slid his one hand below her knees and another behind her back and in one swift movement picked her up in his arms as if she was of feather weight... Geet was first shocked with what he did, then embarassed to be in his arms, so close to him...

Geet- Maan, ye tum kya kar rahe ho??? Pagal ho gaye ho kya??? Mujhe niche utaro...

Maan din't pay any heed to her protests... He just started walking towards the exit...

Geet- Maan, mujhe niche utaro, koi dekh lega...

Maan- Office me koi nahi hai... sab jaa chuke hai... koi bhi tumhari tarha pagal nahi hai 8 baje tak kaam karneko...

Geet realised it was seriously very late to keep on working... She stopped protesting as Maan was not going to listen to her... She put her hand around is neck to keep her hold so that she doesn't fall... But she knew Maan will not let her fall... She was looking at him with a slight blush on her cheek... Haaye, I love him, she said in her mind... As if Maan had heard what she said, He said,

Maan- don't look at me like that, nahi to mujhse pyaar ho jaayega... Maan smirked...

Geet's cheeks colour darkened to know that she was caught by him, staring at him...

Maan was totally latoo on her now, but kept his face straight not looking at her at all or else he would loose focus... and care was more prominent than love, knowing that she was hurt and it was paining ... He made her sit in the front seat and closed the door, going to the other side to get going...

Maan- Tell your driver to take your car home, I'll drop you...

Geet- I don't have a driver... Rather, I don't even have my car after the accident...

Maan- so how were u supposed to go????

Geet- TJ was supposed to drop me...

Maan- Tumhare dost bhi tumhare jaise hi hai, careless...

Geet- aee Maan, mere dostonko kuch mat kaho... and for your kind information, abb tum bhi issi category me aate ho... aur haa, TJ aayi thi mujhe lene, but I was busy doing work for "your" company, and I didn't want to spoil her evening waiting for me...

Maan-ohh yaa, how can I forget... (murmurs) Jald hi me apni category bhi change kar dunga...

Geet heard him murmur- Kya kaha tumne???? Mere bare me bol rahe ho to zor se bolo, m sitting here only...you have all my ears, (murmurs) all my life...

Maan also din't hear what she said at the end...

Maan- to fir tum jaane kaise waali thi???

Geet- taxi se Maan...

Maan- aisa leg leke tum taxi ka intezaar karne waali thi... agar Dr. Handa ko pata chala to mujhe to kachchaa chaba jaate vo, unki princess ko aise hi chodne pe...

Geet- haa, vo to hai... Geet looked at him... Both started laughing...

By this time they reached hospital...

Maan got down and helped Geet to get down... Her leg was still hurting, but she didn't want to trouble Maan further, so she didn't react to the pain... But Maan knew that it was hurting her... He again picked her up...

Geet- Maan, its ok yaar... sab hasenge aise tumhe dekh liya to...

Maan- kyu, tum achi nahi dikhti kya???

Geet- mere ache dikhne se kya hoga.???? She got confused, why she should look good...

Maan- to log sirf mujhpe kyu hasenge, tum par bhi to hasenge naa...

Listening to his answer, she smiled...

Maan- aur logonko koi kaam nahi hota hai hasne ke alawa... Mene tumhe kyu uthaya hai ye tumhe pata hai, mujhe pata hai, so why care about others...

Geet was head over heels listening to his answer, but that changed to blush with what he said next...

Maan- baaki logonka to mujhe pata nahi, mujhe fark isse padta hai ki tum kya sochti ho...

Geet couldn't answer that... how can she tell him what she was thinking... She would have kissed him then and there, he was so near to her... But she had to control... yaha nahi Geet, aur aise haal me to bilkul nahi...

Maan took her to Dr. Nidhi's cabin directly, without even knocking... Fortunately, Nidhi had no patients at that time and rounds were also done... So she was reviewing a patient's file... He saw Geet in Maan's arms and was totally surprised, tha way he had carried her in...

Maan- Dr. She just hurt her foot...

Dr. Nidhi- again..!!! Geet, what do you keep on doing... Mr. Khurana, plzzz make her sit on that bed...

Geet was a bit tensed to see Dr. Nidhi... The pain in her leg seemed less than the tension she had if Nidhi speaks...

Dr. Nidhi- plzz wait outside sir, I will call you in, as soon as it is done...

Maan- ok.. Geet don't worry, I m waiting outside...

Nidhi smiled looking at Maan's concern who masked it very well, not to show it to Geet to tense her further...

Dr. Nidhi- abb tumne kya kiya Geet... fir se kaise lag gayi...

Geet- kuch nahi doc, bas thodasa table se takra gayi... I told him not to bring me here but he was nowhere to listen to me...

Dr. Nidhi- tumne unhe bataya uss baareme..???? Nidhi asked the question Geet was waiting for... She knew Nidhi would ask her about the memory transfusion thing...

Geet- nahi doc... abhi nahi... I want to tell him, but just not now... I loved him even before I knew about all this, just that I was not aware of it... And all this has increased it further... But if I tell him now, then I m not sure what will happen...

Dr. Nidhi- But, the more late you make, the more it will hurt you, if he doesn't accept it... I guess you know what I m talking about... Later you both would be in a stronger bond, so letting it go will hurt you...

Geet- I know doc... But I have not even built a proper bond with him... And I don't want him to believe that I fell in love with him bcoz of this thing... I want him to believe me and my love... I know the consequences then would be complicated, but if I tell him now, I will not even have his friendship which I m enjoying... and when I tell him about it, I m going to tell him that you know about it, so I hope you will tell him about it more in detail, only if you have not fallen for him... I know he looks very handsome...

Dr. Nidhi- vaise mujhe isse koi problem nahi hai... He is very handsome... Sochungi, what to do, agar ache lage to aur aag lagungi... She laughed out loud... Even Geet laughed...

Geet- I know, I can trust on that...

Dr. Nidhi- sure dear... vaise, coming to your leg, its fine, but plzz be careful or else it will take time to recover...

Geet- yes doc... I'll be careful... aur me nahi rakh payi to Maan and meri family hai hi meri dekh bhaal karne... and haa, dad ko bhi mat batana.. me pehele Maan ko batana chahti hu bcoz he is the first person to know about this...

Dr. Nidhi- ok I understand... ohh, Maan and all haa... kaafi progress hai lagta hai...

At the same time, Maan enters the cabin...

Maan- kaisi progress dr.??? Ye to apna dhyaan bilkul bhi nahi rakhti...

Dr. Nidhi was 1st shocked to see him, but listening to him, a smile crept on her face... Geet was also in the same state... Isne kuch sun to nahi liya na..???, she thought... But his full dialogue made her smile and she looked at Nidhi and smiled more... Geet and Nidhi were smiling with the same thought in their minds...

Maan- Dr., aap kuch bol kyu nahi rahi hai??? Kya isne aapko bhi chup kar diya...

Geet hit him on his arms...

Geet- aise bol rahe ho, jaise me kitna badbadati hu...

Nidhi was happy seeing their chemistry with each other... She was happy for Geet and also with her decision of telling him later... It was true that they still have to build the bond... And Nidhi promised herself whenever Maan comes to her to know about it, she will help him change his decision, explaining it to him that ita not her fault... Destiny has something else in its mind to bring them together...

Dr. Nidhi- nahi nahi, aisi baat nahi hai Mr, Khurana... She is fine just that sprain hurted her... Mene use filhaal ke liye pain killer di hai...but she has to be careful, nahi to jaldi heal nahi hoga...

Listening to the dr., Maan din't say anything and just looked at Geet with a "suna, dr. Ne kya kaha" look... Geet put her head down knowing very well what he meant...

Maan- thankx a lot Dr, apne hi CAREFUL rehne ki baat keh di... He stressed on the word...

Geet very well got the hint and didn't react much... She knew he was still angry about her carelessness... Thankfully he had forgotten about what she had said about the memory thing...

Geet- thnkx a lot doc, abb hum chalte hai...

Dr. Nidhi- ok, bye.. take care... She bid them bye...

Maan helped Geet... She was able to walk due to the reduced pain...

Maan made her sit in his car... and headed towards her home...

Maan- dr. Kya keh rahi thi ki tum dono hass rahe tha??? He had heard them laughing...

Geet- kuch nahi, bas aise hi... girls talk, tumhe kyu batau...

How was she going to tell him what they were talking...

Maan- ohkk... he raised his one hand to show surrender...

Geet- thankx a lot Maan... and sorry too, tumhe itni taklif uthani padi... I know, I m not supposed to say thanks and sorry, but tum humesha aisa kuch karte ho ki I can't stop myself from thanking you...

Maan- Abb to tumne mujhe bolne ke liye kuch choda hi nahi... tumhe pata hoke bhi tumne thanks bola to iss baat ki sazaa tumhe zaroor milegi...

Geet- sazaa... tum mujhe iss hal me sazaa doge... Geet showed her leg and made a baby face...

Maan laughed- Geet, bohot badi nautanki ho tum... haa, but sazaa to milegi tumhe...

Geet- acha thik hai bolo kaisi sazaa...

While all this talk, Maan had reached her house... She waited to hear what kind of sazaa he will give...

Maan- tumhara ghar aa gaya...

Geet- I know that... but sazaa to batado, do that I will keep myself ready for it...

Maan- Ok... Till the time you buy a new car, office car will come to pick you up and drop you too... You don't have to be dependent on anyone to drop you... I guess you don't like to rely on anyone... and this would be against your mind to ask anyone's help... I would love to pick and drop you everyday but again the same thing will come in between... So, I m giving you the office car till that time...

Geet was overwhelmed with what Maan said... She never expected him to understand her so well... She hadn't even told him that it was actually not her to ask anyone's help... Maan had guessed it so right...

Geet- tumhe kaise pata chala that I don't like all this...

Maan- I have just been knowing you for around 2 or 3 days, but your working habits and behaviour is somewhat like me, even I don't like taking anyone's help... its always in very exterem cases... So I know how it feels to be dependent on others for such small things... So its just came into my mind... and also, you work for me now, I can give you these facilities without giving you any kind of explanation...

Geet now was totally bowled out by him... She had fallen all the more, and all over again in love with this guy...

In this moment of happiness, she just kissed him on his cheek...

Everything just froze for both of them... Geet didn't know what she did in the fit of happiness, and Maan hadn't expected it to be coming... He just sat their shocked... Geet registered what she just did... Before Maan could turn to look at her, she just got out of the car and headed towards her home without turning back hiding her dark red blushy face...

Maan came out of trance with the bang of the car-door and realised that she had gone... He kept his hand on his cheek feeling her lips... He was still very much astonished with the happening... His smile started increasing as he was realising what had happened... Did she just kiss me???? He was still trying to feel her... His hand was still on his cheek... oh yes, she just kissed me... she kissed me, she kissed me... His heart was dancing... He wanted to go out and kiss her back... Maan, kya karne ki soch raha hai, chill.. Tu uske ghar ke bahar khada hai... His mind warned him not to get out of the car...

Geet almost walked-ran with the help of the crutch towards her building, hard blush on her face, she was smiling all the while... In the lift, she hit her head for her doing... and smiled again imagining his shocked face...

Both were still in trance... Geet reached her floor... Maan started driving back to his house... Both had content and happiness in their mind and on their faces...

vow maan's concern is outta this world man, i lvoe him so much. geet cant get over her feelings, i think she will spill them soon and put herself in trouble.

vow i loved the cheekwala kiss. i am in heaven dreaming the faces of the unexpected maan and the ever blusing geet. so accidental, this gesture, i tho did not expect it here.

i expected the kiss when he was carrying her and flirting with her.
