You have been quite stressed in the hospital, shouting at doctors and nurses and even Gopi when she wouldn't wake up. Why is that? "If you saw someone of your family in a hospital bleeding, injured, wouldn't you too be frantic to get some answers. I was out of my mind worrying about Gopi and the doctors kept scaring me by saying they couldn't do anything more till she regains consciousness. I almost broke down when he said so. I felt helpless. I was very disturbed. It was all surreal and shocking."
Do you hold yourself responsible for her state? "Yes I do. Had I not asked her to go to the goons alone, maybe this would never have happened. I also blame Rashi partly who was the cause for the building falling down on Gopi as she pushed the bamboo sticks holding it together."
Would you say you are beginning to care for her as a husband? Is this the beginning of love between both of you? "I don't know. I am taking care of her as a human being more than anything else. She has impressed me with her love and affection for my family, her dedication to study and her loyalty towards her sister Rashi. More than anything else, I care for her as a friend right now. I want her to get better soon and only then will I be at peace. I don't like seeing Gopi in such a frail condition."
