The girls were in the room just sitting in front of the mirror gazing at themselves. Yes, they had two seats and one mirror. They shared it just like they shared everything else. Jeevika was quite happy about this marriage. Somewhere, sometime, she had started to like Viren. Maybe more than just like. She always blushed deep when he was around or just his name was brought up.
Maanvi, on the other hand, had no idea how to feel. Yes, she was happy that she wouldn't have to separate from her beloved sister. She wouldn't have been able to live other wise. On the contrary, she wasn't sure if what she was doing was right or wrong. But then again, she never cared about what she did with her life and herself as long as she was with her sister. As long as they were together, she knew she can fight anyone no matter what. This time, she was in a dilemma since other's were involved. More importantly, the person whom she knows that her sister loves and his family. The Vadera's.
She had gotten the love of mother she always yearned for from her jiju's mom. She did care about them. But then, was this the right thing to do? Marry Virat since she did not want to leave her sister? There had to be another unknown reason. Her heart jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She knew the touch. Thus, she looked to her right where Jeevika was sitting.
Jeevika asked with her eyes, "What are you thinking?" It was just an eye motion, no words spoken since there really was no need to say any words between them. They could always read what the other person was trying to say through their eyes. It had always been like this, making things easier for both of them. They did not have to voice their concerns or emotions since the other always understood what would happen. Will Virat also be able to do that?
Maanvi looked back at the mirror, refusing to make eye contact with her sister, thinking that if she avoided her sister's questioning look, she would not be put on the point. Of course she was wrong as her sister refused to take no for an answer. She put a hand on Maanvi's shoulder, forcing her to look at her.
"What are you doing?" Jeevika threw the question at Maanvi since it was the first thing that came to her mind. She could not even start to comprehend what her sister was attempting to do. She was marrying her to be devar, but why!? Is it truly love? Or is she lying? But then Virat would be lying too. She did trust Virat. Yes, he was a bit playful. That didn't mean he would lie about something this big. Unlike Maanvi who would lie about something like this if... if Jeevika was involved.
How can I trust her to be sensible in marriage? This is not just one of her pranks! It can't be. It is big deal. She is tying two families together! Both families and all relationships will be hurt if this is just a silly joke or prank by Mannu. What if she did something wrong? What if she was lying and Swamniji found out! Jeevika thought to herself, turning over every possibility that would enter her mind about the things that could go wrong.
Jeevika spoke to her brushing her thoughts away. "Maanvi, you have one more chance to think about it. Are you truly sure?"
Maanvi looked up at her sister not sure what to reply back. Yes, she didn't want to lie.
Leave that, she has lied a lot before but never even once to her sister. She stayed mum for a while."Virat you have to make a promise right now," Chachi demanded in her srious tone she hardly used.
"Anything for you Chachi! Jo hukum sarkar!" Virat replied bowing down at his Chachi's wish.
"After your marriage, you will still compliment me, okay? Don't forget me for your wife haan. Compliment me first, and then your wife okay?" Chachi told him, pulling his ear lightly to show him that she was playing around with him.
Virat went stiff hearing Chachi's words. Marriage. Wife. Maanvi. What have I gotten myself into? The expression didn't go unnoticed by Viren. He made a mental note to talk to him since at that moment, beeji was taking his aarti and he couldn't just leave. Then came Virat's turn and he put on a fake smile and Chachiji grinned from ear to ear forgetting the topic they were talking about. But those words rang over and over again in Virat's ear making him doubtful and uneasy.
As they were escorted inside, Viren and Virat were asked to sit in the mandap directly after a refreshment or so since they were already behind due to the time they had taken to reach there. Both mandap's were in the same place besides each other. Once they sat down, Viren wispered to Virat making sure it was oblivious to other as it would be considered rude to talk while the pandit was chanting mantra's.
"Virat what are you doing? Are you happy with this marriage?" Viren questioned with a penetrating gaze on his little brother. He wanted a honest answer and from the looks of it, it did not seem like he was going to get one any time soon. Why are you lying Virat? What is wrong? Why are you marrying Maanvi? You do love her right?? I hope you do for your sake.
Virat watched his brother with a grim face. He did not really know what to say. What is a person supposed to say in such situations? He could have told his brother the truth, but honestly Virat did not even know the truth himself. That was something he needed to question and talk over with Maanvi. He had just went along with the story Maanvi had cooked. It was for the best...that is what they both thought at least. He was mentally searching his brain for a quick answer for his still waiting Bro, when the pandit saved him.
Precap: Both graciously walked down the stairs slowly in bridal style walk accompanied by Chachiji and Beeji on either sides. Virat and Viren's gaze followed everyone else's and saw the sight in front of them. A sweet smile formed on Viren's face. Virat ...
