PART 9

Next day, all the four of them were getting ready for their work, quite excited and anticipating many things...they would be working together from now on, even if its just for few months... they are going to make the most of it... U WOULD BE THINKING, THE WRITER HAS LOST HER MIND, HOW CAN ANY1 BE SO MUCH MAD THAT SHE TELLING US THAT THEY R ALREADY IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER WITHOUT EVEN SPENDING ENOUGH TIME WITH EACH OTHER... but then, this is how LOVE is... it does not have any explanation about what you do, what you think... it just happens... so, as I was saying they were lost in thoughts of their own...

Geet went downstairs to have her breakfast and leave for work...

She joined her mom and dad at the breakfast table and started telling them...

Geet- Dad, we got that contract of Khuranas... We are starting our work from today... It's going to be a gr8 exposure for me to excel further and also to the employee working with me...

RH- ohh, great dear... but did u tell them tht you will not take it if its that accident related to it???

Geet- yes Dad... you know me... i wont take it... i told him before he could tell us if he wants to work with us or not... n he also assured that he has selected us on the basis of our merits only...

Dad- good then...that man is one to be admired...

Geet- Yaa Dad... his demeanor is totally different from what he shows it to be...

RH was looking at Geet's face...He had never seen such a glow on Geet's face when she used to talk about anyone... He was content to see her sweet and glowing face... But he was not sure what made her glow...was it for winning this contract or was it by talking about Mr. Khurana...??? his Daddy instincts got awoken by such thoughts... He wouldn't object on any of her decisions but he also doesn't want his daughter to get hurt... but then he thought, was it not too early to think like this... ye baat to Geet ke mann me bhi nahi aayi hogi... and if Geet falls for him then she will herself come and tell him... she never hides anything from her Dad, be it anything becoz she knows, her Dad would always guide her in a good way...as I already said they were more than family,they were friends...RH shook his head for throwing out such stupid thoughts...

Geet left house after some time towards her office to just look after some pending files and tell TJ some things to look after... She will later make her towards KC...

Maan, was already on his way to his office...he did his normal doings like every morning... but today, he did it all to fast, as if he had a flight to catch... DJ was looking at Maan... She found somthing different in Maan's behaviour today... DJ wanted Maan to get into marriage now... She had already tried it, but Maan always avoided that topic in one or the other way... So she left it up to him, whatever he wants to do... But today she felt that her hopes will not go to drain... Whatever it was in his behaviour, 1 thing she was sure of was, it has to be a girl behind this kind of behaviour... She was sure, bcoz you may think she is old, but she that grey hair are not coloured, they have turned such due to lot of experience...n she hoped badly that her thinking was on right track...

On the other hand, Shaan and Khanak were already in his office, opening the book of love instead of the books of accounts...(sorry, i know tht was a very bad joke... :/) They already began their journey towards their love...

Maan reached his office some time earlier...he had to arrange a cabin for Geet, she would be working here for a while... n for now when her leg has still not recovered, he dint want her to stress herself too much if she needs to meet Maan for any query or discuss about some issue... He decided to give her the cabin besides him which is not that much in use... He immediately called the cleaners of the office and told them to clean the cabin and bring it to usable condition...

Geet entered KC office...It was as usual busy... all the employees busy in their own work... some were near the cafeteria having a casual chat... she was again recognising the faces of people she has never seen...argh, whats happening mahn... she gave a frustrated expression...

She went towards Maan's cabin... n knocked on it... she opened it a bit just to see if there was anyone inside... Maan's head went up to see the owner of such melodic voice which he actually knew...

Maan- Ohh, plzz come in...u dnt need to ask...

Geet- even if u say so... but it does not look good to enter someone's cabin without permission...

Maan- you are being a true professional... I don't mind it that way... but I guess you said we are friends...

Geet- oh yes, we are... but this is a work place... and nor mixing up personal and professional life...

Maan- so you mean that we will not talk anything other than work..???

Geet- nothing like that... we will surely talk... why do you always say the opposite things that I talk about...???? is it your habit or it's just me that u tlk to like this...???

Maan- hahaha, nothing like that... it's just that I ask what I want to ...I don't hold back any queries to myself if it is beneficial to me...

Geet- ya, that is why you asked your professor, why do girls wear skirts and not pants like guys.??

Maan's head shot up...what did she just say..???? how does she know that he had asked such a question to his sir...???? Maan had asked this somehow silly and embarrassing question to his professor when he was in 3^rd grade...The prof. Dint say anything at that time feeling highly embarrassed by the young boy's question...but later as he grew up, he got the answer of his own question and also felt the embarrassment, only thing that saved him was passage of time as others were too young to remember that question, so he was saved from all the teasings...

What m I hell bent to keep on embarrassing myself in front of him... I have to keep a check on what I say in front of him, she thought...

Before Maan could say anything further, Geet just got up from her place to go out...but in this process, her hurt foot got twisted further and she was about to fall down due to too much of pain...

Geet was waiting to touch the floor... the immense pain in the leg made her numb to feel the touch... after a minute, when she came out of the numbness, she dint feel the ground...Instead she felt two strong arms wrapped around her, one at her waits and the other at her back...she slowly opened her eyes to check what she felt was right...

Maan saw her twisting and immediately got up from his place... He heard her slight scream due to the pain that went through her... He caught Geet in time before she could touch the floor and hurt herself further more... Maan was observing her face intently... He could see the change of expressions on her face... first it was covered with immense pain... then confused expression... then realisation of something crept on her face... then she slowly began to open her eyes...

She slowly opened her eyes and first thing that she saw was Maan's face in clear concern... His face was very close to hers... She 1^st dint recognize who it was for a split second...but then she guessed that it would be none other than Maan...who else was there in the cabin other than these 2... n no one is so fast to come and catch her...

They were in the same position looking at each other intently, trying to read their eyes, drowning themselves in their eyes... The sudden pain in Geet's leg brought he out of their sweet eyelock... She whimpered in pain... looking at her expression, Maan came out of his thoughts and realised that she was going through pain... he immediately straightened her and made her sit on the sofa that was just nearby... Maan bent down to check on her leg as to how much is the harm... As soon as Maan touched her feet, she winced in pain closing her eyes and slightly grinding her teeth... Maan looked up at her face...he could guess that it was paining a lot...

Maan- bohot dard ho raha hai kya???

Geet- hmm...she couldn't form words due to the pain...

Maan- Let it be Geet... don't start your work today... You go home and rest...we can start it later...

Geet, snapping open her eyes- No Maan, let it be... I have a hurt leg, my hands and brain are still working, if you doubt it...I will sit and work...You don't worry... I'll manage...

Maan- Geet, itne dard me kaam par dhyaan nahi de paogi... mujhe koi jaldi nahi hai... ur health matters more...

Geet was out of her wits looking at his concern... She was not able to say anything further... Maan thought that she dint agree with him... so he said,

Maan-Jab baat maanni hi nahi hai to dost kyu kehti ho...Maan tried to emotional blackmail her... kya din aa gaye hai Maan par...

Geet, coming out of her thoughts- Mene aisa thodi kaha...Aap to bura maan gaye... acha thik hai, me chali jaati hu...ab khush...

Maan- nahi, adbhi bhi nhi... me tumhe ghar drop kar deta hu...

Geet- acha thik hai...mere paas vaise bhi car nhi hai... TJ ne drop kiya tha mujhe yaha... ab to khush...

Maan, smirking- haan...

Both went towards Maan's car... He helped Geet to walk out... The girls in the office were getting jealous...How did this girl manage to get so close to MK... Maan has not even given them a look...

Maan helped Geet to sit the car...she was still having sum pain in her leg... while on their way,

Geet- koi nahi keh sakta ki itne bade business empire k ik laute maalik, itne bade nautanki hai...

Maan- kya kaha, nautanki..!!!!

Geet- haan, nautanki...but sach bolu aapko acting nahi aati...

Maan- mujhe pata hai...par tum meri baat maanti thode hi...to thoda sa natak karna pada...

Geet smiled at his sweet gesture...

Maan dropped Geet till her doorstep...

Geet- aap andar nahi aaoge..??? Ghar par bhi koi nhi hai...

Maan- Nahi Geet, aaj nahi rehene do... fir kabhi aaunga... tumhe bhi aaram ki zaroorat hai... aur kya pata, tumhari niyat fir gayi to...mujhe meri izzat pyaari hai, itne jaldi lootani nahi hai mujhe... he said jokingly, aankh maarte hue...

Hearing this Geet started laughing uncontrollably... Maan was lost in her laugh...

Geet- ab iss toote pao me to mujhe khade hone bhi nahi ho raha hai...n u r tlking all this nonsense...

Geet washed off the thoughts and the embarrassment and her red blush in her laugh...

Geet- ok than we will meet tomorrow...bbyeee...

Maan- bye, you take care...aur agar zyaada dard hua to kal mat aana...We can manage it...

Geet- no, I would be fine by tomorrow...

Maan- Dr. Handa permission de to hi aana...nhi to meri kher kare bhagwaan... unke batik o taklif den eke liye mujhpar chid naa jae...

Geet- thats my Dad, you are talking about...

Maan- yup, i can see it very well..and anyways i was kidding... I liked ur bond with your father on the first day itself... I was out when u n Mr. Handa were talking...

Geet- Mr. Khurana, eavesdropping is not a good habit...n that was our private moment...

Maan, sadly said- that I could never have...

Geet immediately caught it n stopped laughing, looking at Maan's sad face...

Geet- Maan, r u ok???

Maan, snapping out of his thought and giving a faint smile- Yaa, I m...u go n take rest...meet you tomorrow... byee...

Geet- byee...

Both left in different direation...Maan towards his car and Geet inside her house...

In all this, Maan and Geet both forgot about that question incident, due to which all this happened... Geet remembered it later... for once she was relived and thankful to her Babaji that she dint get caught off guard... argh, why are all her dreams related to him..??? She has to seriously keep a check on her... She went to her room limping and having a difficulty in walking... She called Rano and told what happened in office, as in only the leg twist part...

Maan, while on his way home, was lost in the memories of his past that he didn't want to disclose it to anyone... he immediately snapped out of his thoughts as he reached home...
